The house is beautiful and the location is stunning. We had a great time in and around the community. Morning and evening walks by the water or through the neighborhoods were very relaxing. We visited multiple small towns around the area as well as a visit to the Ritz for drinks. We couldn't have found a better place.
Owner response:Thanks....we're glad you enjoyed yourselves !!!

Our family rented this amazing home for Easter weekend. Our children (ages 21 and 23) each brought a friend. This home has it ALL! Perfectly situated just feet from the gorgeous lake the setting is pristine. The home has a lovely screened porch where we enjoyed eating. Located within a short walk is the marina making boat rental a breeze. The tennis courts are also close by along with the community pool. The driving range is a two minute drive. We had a ball and enjoyed every ammenity there! The house is a perfect size and has absolutely everything one could want or need. No detail has been overlooked. It is beautifully decorated and designed with great thought. We are former home owners at Lake Oconee and have rented homes there for fiive years. This house is by far the best thing we've come across and we look forward to returning for many more visits. The owner is delightful and very easy to work with. Its a five star accommodation!
Owner response:Thanks for staying and thanks for the wonderful review !!!! Certainly appreciated. Best regards, Steve

It was in too small of a town - no good restaurants - nothing to do except golf and I am not a golfer. I had to clean every appliance before using, the baking pans were filthy - the dishwasher did not clean the dishes (had to rewash by hand). The kitchen, dining room and den all faced the lake with windows all around from ceiling to floor but NO CURTAINS, DRAPES OR BLINDS to give privacy. At night people walking along the lake sidewalk could just look in (and they did) and see you so you could not relax in your night clothes. And we could not stop the water runnning in the small bathroom toilet on the main floor. I left the place much cleaner than I found it. . I have rented 3 times through your company and this is the only one that I have not been happy with.
Owner response:I must say, that after over 3 years of renting, this is the first time I've ever had a negative response. But, I will try to address the concerns. 1)"Too small of a town...no good restaurants". Yes, it is a small town, however we do have everything from great Italian, French and American cuisine on up to the Ritz Hotel and Resort some 15 minutes from our Lake House ! 2)" Nothing to do except golf"...good reason a lot of people go there, oh and by the way, there is a huge lake, our house is located 50 feet from it, tennis courts, swimming pool, walking and bicyling areas. 3) The dishwasher according to the service man from Askew Repair Service that we brought in after the guest complained said " it worked just fine...perhaps it was overloaded." 4) Our cleaning crew was there when she arrived for her check in. In fact, they helped her unload their car. Nothing was said to them about the house being in need of additional cleaning. 5) The Kitchen, dining room and family room all do face the lake with plenty of windows. That is the reason why 3 years of rentees keep coming back. They LOVE THE OPEN VIEWS ! See reviews listed....this IS the selling point. Examples: Martha writes " "Pictures simply can't show how wonderful the home is; it has all the latest in decor....all with a rocking chair porch and view to die for ! And JG writes " This was a perfect get away location for our family. The home was so well appointed and so well kept. The location near the water was really nice. We had planned to dine out for our evening meals but after seeing the home and location we chose to prepare our meals at the home and dine on the wonderful porch. What a wonderful place ! Barb from Atlanta writes " Great views of the lake from every room of this house- could hardly get closer to the water." I could go on and on.

This home is beautiful, inside and out. The view from the porch to the lake is picture perfect. I highly recommend this home for any occassion. There were six adults and we had plenty of room. The home is conveniently located off I-20 and once you are on the community property, you feel a world away from hustle and bustle. The owner was very helpful with arranging our rental and then making recommendations for our stay.

After finding the Morton house on VRBO our celebration plans went from lasting a week-end to an entire week. Pictures simply can't show how wonderful the home is; it has all the latest in decor, appliances- television, sound system. I could go on and on as no detail has been overlooked. Steve was a great "host away from home", with suggestions about activities, restaurants, etc. Our adult children and grandchildren loved it as much as we did. All that with a rocking chair porch and view to die for; hope we can make it back for 51st.
Owner response:Thank you so much for your kind words. Kathy and I love it when our "guests" have such a wonderful time. We certainly will look forward for you to come back for your "51 st ". Best regards, Steve

This was a perfect get away location for our family. The home was so well appointed and so well kept. The location near the water was really nice. We had planned to dine out for our evening meals but after seeing the home and location we chose to prepare our meals at the home and dine on the wonderful porch. We were able to enjoy a full moon on our last night there and took our boat out to really enjoy the view. What a wonderful place! We hope to enjoy your home again in the near future.

This is a great lake house! It was like walking right into your own home with everything you need. We loved the flat grassy yard and the sidewalk around the lake. Typhoon Tommy's is a very convenient marina for renting boats and Sea Doos! We rented a ski boat one day...a pontoon another day and a Sea Doo! We even rented tubes to take the kids tubing behind the boats. We enjoyed walking to both of the Great Waters pools, and The Reynolds Landing pool with the neat curvy waterslide (about 10 minutes away) was super fun for us and our kids. This is a great lake home! My husband loved playing the Great Waters golf course! Our kids left asking if we could come back again next year! We love the convenience of this area...grocery stores, restaurants and a movie theatre. Next time, hopefully......the spa at the Ritz Carlton! Thanks for opening your lake home to us!

Great views of the lake from every room of this house-could hardly get closer to the water. We enjoyed hanging out on the back screened porch watching the boats, reading, eating, and talking! My husband became obsessed with catching a fish from the dock but we also biked, rented a pontoon, visited the Ritz, went to the movies, found an organic market in Greensboro, walked, and ate! We had teenagers in and out and the bedroom accommodations were perfect for them. The house is very comfortable and well equipped and Steve was very helpful.

Immediately upon walking into this house you will know that you are in for a great weekend. The view of the lake is incredible, and the location to the clubhouse, golfcourse, and marina are unbeatable. The porch and everything within the house are first rate, and Steve will be very helpful throughout your stay for whatever you might need. If your looking for a place on Lake Oconee you can't beat it!

My family had the opportunity to spend a long weekend in May for my daughter's wedding at the Morton's well appointed home. We especially liked sitting on the screened porch and just enjoyed looking at the beautiful lake. The home was comfortable and relaxing, just what you would want for a vacation getaway. We would highly recommend this home to family and friends.

Our family just (Labor Day weekend, 2009) celebrated my daughter's 40th birthday at this wonderful home. 4 adults & 2 grown children and we had plenty of room. Very spacious & well equipped kitchen. Our favorite was the screened porch all across the back of the house with that amazing lake view. We had never rented a home, site-unseen & off the web, like this & were a little nervous. Steve was very easy to reach by phone or email and this made us much more comfortable about the whole process. We brought kayaks, went fishing & swam in the lake & in the pool (which is just a short walk away). Even on a holiday weekend the neighborhood was quiet. We'd love to go back again. Very idyllic & super relaxing.

I can't say enough about our stay at this wonderful, lake front property! Each year, my college sorority sisters and I get together in a different location to celebrate life, relax and unwind. In October 2008, we decided to find a wonderful house and we happened upon this location. It is AWESOME! Well decorated, spacious and on the water...what more could you request? It was perfect for several young ladies who want some time away from hubbies and little people. The kitchen was one of our favorite locations and it was beautiful and well equipped. We spent every morning on the screened in porch overlooking the lake and ended there every evening as well. This was a wonderful house, the owners were super accommodating and everything was extremely pleasurable for everyone involved! Great house, Great friends, Great times and memories to last forever! Thanks Morton's for a great weekend experience!

We had the most wonderful weekend at this beautiful lake house. The renovation and furnishing of this home has been done with great care -- making a stay here so comfortable and relaxing. The home has everything you need pr want and the location is one of the best on the lake. The owners, Steve and Nancy, are absolutely great. We hope to return soon and recommend this location to anyone lucky enough to vacation at beautiful Lake Oconee.

What a great place to stay, just a couple of feet from one of the most beautiful lakes in the country and a fishermen paradise. We stayed 10 days and had one of the most quiet, relaxing times in years. The people that we met while there were wonderful. espeacially the Taylors who came by and helped us get familiarized with the cottage. We can't wait to go back.

This cottage was wonderful. We stayed 4 nights over the Christmas holiday with our 3 grown children and had a wonderful time. The cottage's location is terrific-to both plantation amenities and local shops and movies. The bedrooms and baths and are roomy, very clean and inviting. The kithcen is unusually well outfitted for those who love to cook and the porch - amazing. Our host was warm, helpful and very prompt with the refund.

I am embarrassed that I am just now posting my thoughts on this beautiful home - please excuse the delay. We stayed in this home over the Labor day weekend of 2008 and had a fantastic time. This home is beautifully decorated and the owners were very gracious in assisting with all of our needs. The entire property is well kept, family oriented yet peaceful. We had Grandma ages - the 80's down to a 6 year old and all were happy and comfortable. We would recommend to everyone to visit. Thanks again to the Owners!

What a relaxing 6 days! The location is the best of Great Waters; the pool is close by, the house is right on the water, the views are beautiful, and even the trees shade the screened in porch at just the right times! The marina is just around the corner for rentals, and my son loved catching the striped bass right off the dock. We'll definitely remember this as a vacation option for the future. The Flynns

What an incredible vacation spot. This place offers luxury, relaxation, and the atmosphere that truly allows you to escape with your family. We loved the décor, boat dock, swimming pools, lake beaches, incredible view from the deck, and all the other many amenities offered with this home. The attention to detail that was used to remodel this home is second to none. Eight days seems like a long time but I could have honestly stayed forever! Many thanks to the owner and management for offering such a wonderful place for our family. The Williams Family

Fantastic, central location for Reynolds Plantation and Masters. Remodel is superb. The girls loved the French Country style. Great central living area perfect for 5-6 people watching huge flatscreen above fireplace. Owner is great to work with. Only place in Georgia during Masters week I felt I was not being triple surcharged for everything.

The biggest problem that we had was that we could only stay for 2 nights ! This home is AWESOME. It is decorated very tastefully, with all top notch brand new furnishings and appliances. The Lake House has an unbelievable view of the water and golf course and is only 3 doors down from the swimming pool and tennis courts. There is a boat dock conveniently located in the back yard. What a great location. The screened in porch is fantastic and the Big plasma screen television makes this place ideal for our family. WE WILL BE BACK !

Unbelievable - no believe it! This place is amazing. Beautifully decorated, warm and cozy with a beautiful lake view from a spacious screened in porch. Close to everything you want on a vacation and far from the hub bub of normal busy life. The owners are warm and very helpful and will make you want to return. I give my 5 stars, thumbs up and 5 diamonds to this rental. We stayed in March; the guys had a great view of the basketball games on the big screen, while we girls sipped wine on the porch. The only thing I have to say, is remember to buy your wine on Saturday, Georgia does not sell liquor on Sundays! Enjoy.
