increase the enjoyment for future guest.
Why the Owner Chose Helen

We spent the weekend here for my 40th birthday this past January. It was 9 girls total and we all loved this house! We never left but didnt need to. We had all the comforts of home and more. I HIGHLY recommend this property and have already done so! It was great for a girls weekend but would also work wonderful for couples or families. One great thing for us was NO bunk beds!!!! Everyone had a comfortable "real" bed! This place has it all!

We have been wanting to have a vacation with our children and grandchildren. There are 9 of us: My husband and I, our two sons and their wives, our daughter, and our two grandchildren. This home was much larger than I expected. We came from Florida, so when we arrived it was dark. But when we woke up in the morning, the view from the landing in the loft was breathtaking. The surroundings outside were lovely. During our stay we made good use of the firepit. We also used the hot tub, the ping pong tables and the recreation area downstairs. Our 3 1/2 yr old granddaughter was enthralled. She calls it the "cabins house." She tells me regularly she wants to go back to Georgia to the cabins house. The beds are really comfortable. And with 3 1/2 baths, there was no worry about being crowded. Everything was very beautiful!!! We cooked breakfast there. But we were very close to Ingalls grocery store--which is a misnomer--because they have everything you could possibly want there. We did make use of their buffet. They have a deli and a hot buffet and a salad buffet. It was wonderful. Helen is very close and has a wide variety of restaurants, carpet golf, and shops. We had a great time!! Thanks for sharing your home!! We hope to return again.

Could Have Been Better

My family and I stayed at the cabin for two nights in May. The exterior of the cabin was beautiful and well kept and the views were magnificent. However, there were minor issues that made our cabin stay less enjoyable. The cleaning crew did not do a good job cleaning the cabin, there were dead bugs on the stairs and the kitchen floor still had left over food debris from the previous guests. We were unsure whether the bedsheets in the master bedroom had been washed since we found blonde hairs on the pillow and under the covers. The couch in the living room had seen better days and what was worse was that we found a bottle of lubricant hidden in a decorative treasure chest on the side table by the couch. The pool table was old and used and the ping pong table had bats that were broken. We have stayed in numerous cabins in the Blue Ridge area and this was our least enjoyable. The owners need to ensure the cleanliness of the cabin and upgrade some of the existing furniture / equipment to make it a better stay.
Owner response:This is the first complaint I have ever had for our cabin. Why would you wait over 2 months to post a review and not let us know the day you checked in. 2 months later does not give us the opportunity to resolve any issues you may have had. We are very demading on our cleaning contractor and we have very high standards. I went to the cabin right after your review to look at the items you mentioned. The couch was in perfect condition, the pool table is new and the cabinet next to the ping pong table has plenty of balls and paddles. Im sorry but I do not see what you are refering to. I looked for the treasure chest you mentioned. I was not aware that it even opened. thought it was just that decoration. Posting that was in not only in very bad taste, but has nothing to do with the cabin. We would never have a reason to look in there, nor would our cleaning crew. We take great pride in our mountain home and hope that all of our guests enjoy it as much as we do. We visit the cabin very often and constantly upgrade and add items to the cabin to make it just like home. Sincerely, Steve Shuey

Much more than a cabin. We had three families stay for the weekend and found that we had more then enough room for both the kids and adults. Everything we needed was there and in great working order. It is close to town but far enough away so you don't have to worry about the neighbors ( except for the friendy bear sign that we never saw). A great place to get away to and we enjoyed our stay. When we travel this way again we will be staying here.

We just spent a wonderful, fun, relaxing, week at your cabin, June 11th - 18th. There were 4 couples all friends from Florida. The house was absolutely amazing!! Spacious, beautiful, more than enough room for everyone, awesome kitchen, and gorgeous views from every window and porch!! Our husbands loved making fires outside in the firepit, we had large family dinners every night! I loved the rocking chairs on the porches. The house is so spacious that everyone has space to have their own free time, but quaint enough to gather together in the living room. I loved the game room and played ping pong and pool each day. The location is perfect!! Close to Helen, hiking, biking, tubing, everything we were looking for to enjoy our week's vacation! The only thing I would be careful of is the very steep driveway up to the actual house. With four vehicles that was a bit of a problem. We did not see the Bear!!! I would recommend this house to all of my family and friends!!!! Thank you Sandy and Steve!!

This cabin is even better than the pictures on the website. There is plenty of room to spread out with everything you need for preparing meals and spending time with family, Good location for day hikes and visiting nearby cities, I highly recommend this cabin if you are planning a vacation with miltiple families. The only down side is the extremely steep driveway with limited parking at the top of the hill. We never did see the bear!!!

One of the reasons that we picked this house to stay at was due to the favorable comments already submitted by past guests. After our wonderful vacation over Memorial Day weekend, I wanted to do the same to encourage others to stay at this house. The house really does offer everything as advertised. We had 13 people of all ages ranging from 3 ½ up to 69 and there was plenty of room for everyone. As mentioned by someone else, Helen is less than ten minutes away (so it’s close), but far enough away so that you feel secluded. I really can’t say enough about it, as the house had everything that we needed. And, a big thanks to Sandy for making sure our stay was a great one. We will be coming back for sure!

The cabin was so much more than I expected. The pictures really don't do it justice. It was HUGE yet very cozy. They had everything there that we needed (kitchen supplies - including some spices even) towels, etc. The hot tub offers a great view of the valley. It's close enough to Helen to be convienient, but far enough away to feel like you're secluded. Helen is only about ten minutes away, if that. It's on a hill away from EVERYTHING! Very peaceful and serene, but with every amenity a city girl like me would need. Our dog came along with us, and she loved it, too!!! I can't say enough about what a pleasant experience we had at this property. I would recommend it to anyone. We had a one year-old, teenagers, thirtysomethings and a 68 year-old with us, and everyone had a great time. Hopefully, we'll be going back some time this year.

Our extended family decided to meet in GA for this past Christmas 2010. I was in charge of booking the cabin and was very nervous just going by pictures. BUT I was speechless when I walked into the cabin!!! We had 9 adults, a brand new baby and a 2 year old. We all fit very comfortably and had room to spare. The cabin had everything we needed. Since my family is full of cookers we brought a lot of our own cooking tools but didn't need them!!!! There is a large grocery store about 10 min up the road which was very helpful!! The view from the cabin were amazing especially since it snowed. I can't say enough about our experience...we will for sure be going back!!! You will not be disappointed!

If you are planning a vacation in the Helen Georgia area, we highly recommend this incredible cabin. It's beyond your expectations. Our family of 10 and 2 dogs spent the Labor Day holidays at this magnificant home that was so, so clean, and comfortable. Everything was totally awesome with unbelieveable amenities for every age group. We made so many new memories, especially around the fire pit sharing our stories while roasting marshmallows. Although we did visit around Helen and the surrounding area, most of our time was actually spent at the cabin. Everything we needed was there and everybody had their own agenda as to what they wanted to do there at the home. It's hard to believe Sandy and Steve rent out this fantastic home, but a big "Thank You" to them for allowing us to enjoy their mountain home surrounded with breathtaking views. Every member of our group was totally satisfied with everything and are very excited about returning for another visit. A visit to this home will be one you'll cherish!
