The Old Tavern and it's properties are a hidden gem near Stratton, Magic, and Bromely. We were greeted by old fashion hospitality and unadverised "touches" that made the stay one of the best i've had in quite some time. The tuttle house has lots of room to streach out and could accomodate multiple couples comfortably. It's a beautiful old house and the inn keepers keep it very very clean. The bedding was wonderful, classic heavy vermont comforters and soft mattresses. On arrival we were greeted with classical music playing softly in each room, along with a basket of apples, crackers, and cheese. There was plenty of wood on the front porch to build a nice fire in the large fireplace. Breakfast is served at the main inn, a 1 min walk from the house. The breakfast itself is reason to comeback, I had the pancakes and they were delicious. The innkeepers John and Kathy made it a point to introduce themselves and like the rest of thier staff, couldn't be friendlier. I'm not the type of person who writes reviews, but I felt the need to write one after staying at the tuttle house. If you're looking to get away for the weekend this is the spot, the level of service they provide for the price is unbelieveable. Words really can't do it justice, give John and Kathy a try, you won't be dissapointed.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
