Come; experience beautiful, pristine Lake Keowee. Nestled in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this 18,000 acre lake, with 300 miles of shoreline, is a nature lover’s delight. Lake Keowee is surrounded by nearly 2 million acres of protected lands with six state parks nearby. The area is blessed with mild winters, long springs and falls, beautiful summers, clean air, abundant sunshine and starry nights.
Our waterfront home, is located in the gated, mountainside resort community of Keowee Key. The area features a wide array of attractions and amenities in a natural setting, making it the ideal family vacation destination. This house is situated on a heavily wooded acre lot overlooking a quiet, deep water cove.
Enter the bright great room with high vaulted ceiling, floor to ceiling windows, wood burning fireplace, wet bar, TV, dining area for 8 and an additional table for games/cards. This is a spacious, comfortable gathering area for family and friends. There are two screened porches, one with comfortable chairs for socializing and reading and the other for dining. There are two master suites, the larger with walk-in closet and a newly renovated bath. Completing the main level are the fully equipped kitchen and utility room.
The lower level has two additional bedrooms, sleeping seven, and the third full bath with double sinks. The unfinished rec room has comfortable seating for watching TV, a ping pong table, foosball and two day beds for extra sleeping space—a great area for the kids. This totals to sleeping 11 people in beds, with three more on daybeds and sofa. All the lower level rooms have glass doors opening onto a large covered deck. Walk down to the lake and find a large covered, lighted dock on a quiet deep water cove. Fish, soak up the sun, sit in the shade or jump into the clear lake waters.
Included with your stay is complimentary access for numerous Keowee Key activities and amenities. Among the amenities are the Clubhouse with restaurants and bar, a newly renovated, 18 hole championship golf course ($17 for 18 holes, including a new golf cart), the Fitness & Aquatic Center with recently expanded workout facility, racquetball courts and a 2.5 meter indoor heated pool. There are 10 tennis courts with three different surfaces, two outdoor pools, beaches, playgrounds, picnic shelters and a lighted 2 5/8 mile paved trail that meanders along the lake. There is also a full service marina with pontoon boat rentals.
In addition to these activities, there are many other opportunities to immerse oneself in the beauty and peace of nature. The area boasts wonderful hiking with over 200 spectacular waterfalls. Enjoy the mountain backdrop from the water while boating, skiing, swimming, fishing or whitewater rafting. A 20 minute drive will take you to 6+ public golf courses. Clemson with its NCAA sports and SC Botanical Garden are 15 minutes away. Asheville and the Biltmore House, The Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cherokee with its casino and outdoor theater, Gatlinburg and the Foothills and Appalachian Trails are within 1 1/2 hour drive. Explore the quaint mountain towns of Cashiers and Highlands for unique boutiques and restaurants. And if you have a yen for big city amenities, Keowee Key is midway between Charlotte and Atlanta, plus only a short drive from the Greenville-Spartanburg metro area and International Airport.
