We chose Casa Luna because it was close to public transit and looked like a lovely unit for 2 couples! It worked for both! Public transit was perfect: 1) Muni Metro was about 50 steps from our door -- fast, easy routes to downtown, cable car, the water, Bart, and other bus connections; 2) F trolley runs directly between Castro district, the ferry terminal, Embarcadero, and Fisherman's Wharf. Keep a map handy and avoid transports around the rush transit hours. Casa Luna is a lovely combination of housing units that make you feel at home. Our discussions with Irma, the property manager, were helpful and extremely pleasant! There were a few issues that we encountered beginning with the booking, but it is difficult to find a rental that is perfect. My husband and I are responsible renters and generally accepting of flaws when a place essentially serves our needs. And, Casa Luna does that! I highly recommend it for those who are mobile. This is not a place that would work for people with disabilities. I mark this property down because of the booking/financial complications but, because all were resolved -- albeit with some difficulty -- I wanted to post a positive review.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We loved our stay in the apartment, it was all and more than we had expected. The attention to detail was excellent, cleanliness, the location was great, considering we did not have our own transport. We were given excellent customer service. We will definitely recommend to our Australian friends who may e considering visiting San Francisco to stay at this apartment. It was a wonderful finish to our 10 week holiday overseas.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Two couples stayed in this VRBO and enjoyed it so much. The owner provided a guide that provided tons of information about the area and the apartment. Especially liked the towel warmer in the smaller bathroom. Everything was first class. Would love to return to SFO again and use this place for a longer stay. Don't hesitate to stay here, you'll be glad you did.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Quirky and Charming. Casa LunaSF is located in the recently gentrified Castro sector. A pleasant neighborhood on the edge of the bustling Castro St. area home of the vibrant SF Rainbow scene. An interesting and charming glimpse into the rich and diverse gay culture for us mature, staid, straight folks. This remodeled old home has been divided into three vacation rentals. We stayed in the top unit which is accessed via two looooong flights of stairs. Be aware if mobility is an issue. The space is quirky but very pleasant with two generous BRs and two large baths. The kitchen/ DR is spacious and accommodated co-operative cooking. Sound proofing was problematical between units and the street, however, this is to be expected in such a Reno. On site Manager (Rico) was friendly and responsive while the home office (Debbie in Hawaii) was seconds away via email. Her list of local stores etc was excellent. Would definitely stay in this area and residence next time. Note: maybe not for kids.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.

We stayed here as a family of five. The appartment was gorgeous and had everything we needed for a stress free start to our holiday. The location was brilliant - the Castro district - with great delis and restaurants - Chow's, Harvey's, Catch, to name but a few. The appartment is rifgt next to a tube station and has great bus and tram links. The outside area was peaceful and we all loved the jacuzzi bath.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks!

This apt was perfect for our family of 4 (myself, husband & 2 teenage daughters). Location was great, central to all bus & streetcar lines. Tastefully decorated with all amenities. Beds were comfy & kitchen was wonderful, although in the city of great food we didn't use it as much as I'd of liked. I've already recommend this apt to all our friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This condo is absolutely beautiful and clean! The entire experience from booking to entering to departing was very easy and smooth. It is located right off of Castro St. and less than 1/2 block from the Muni entrance. I would highly recommend this condo for anyone visiting the San Francisco area.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: I've traveled to more than 40 countries and I think San Francisco is one of the best cities on earth and the Castro neighborhood is THE BEST of San Francisco, It's a hip, super clean and safe, vibrant and diverse neighborhod - really the quintessential San Francisco spot. The weather is great; nice and sunny even when most the City is fogged in and cold. The only thing better than living here, is getting to share it with others. I love making sure my guests have an amazing stay and have total privacy as well. I worked at the Ritz Carlton for years and the experience stuck with me. I've made the flats a luxury home away from home, with everything as perfect as possible. I'm sure you'll love it here at Casa Luna SF. Cheers, Wyatt
Why the Owner Chose Castro:
It's the best neighborhood in the City. Great weather, central location, quintessential San Francisco experience. Super safe, hip and fun.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
We're just up the block from a major subway stop and the center of the City. You can stay here and have total quiet, but then just walk out the door and you're in a thriving neighborhood! tons of interesting folks, great restaurants and pubs, awesome shopping at one of a kind stores, fun bars and clubs, the best coffee shop in SF (Peet's) and so much more. Oh yea, you can get anywhere in the city with one $2 subway ride.
