Drinking Horse Ranch is the place to be!

My husband, our eight year old daughter, and I stayed at the Drinking Horse Ranch for an awesome 10 days. It was an great experience to be so close to Peter's 160 acres, his beautiful horses, and to be surrounded by such beauty. Far enough but close enough to downtown Bozeman. Our daughter enjoyed an excellent horseback riding lesson, for an additional fee. She loved it. We hiked Peter's breath taking property and ended the hike in the hot tub on the porch. Peter was kind and informative. The cabin was clean and well equipped with towels, wifi, sheets, pillow, blankets etc. My family and I like to cook at home for most meals, the only downside was that there wasn't enough cooking equipment, but we managed. I would highly recommend staying at the cabin, we can't wait to go back!

We were looking for something special--a place to spend Christmas week without the usual family gatherings at home. We found it here! The beauty of the cabin, the solitude of its setting, the warm hospitality of the owner were all exceptional. We cross-country skied at Bohart Ski Ranch up the canyon, at Lone Mountain Ranch in Big Sky, and on public trails in Bozeman Creek and at Hyalite Reservoir. Easy access to downtown made it convenient to visit the taprooms at Bozeman Brewing Co and Neptune Brewing (Bozeman outlet). We enjoyed grocery trips to the Co-op and pizza at Mackenzie. All in all, we had a wonderful week and would recommend it to others.

Our family stayed at the Rockhorse cabin for a week and loved it! The cabin has the unique combination of being conveniently close to Bozeman yet secluded in a beautiful mountain valley. The cabin is spacious, comfortable and very charming. Our children loved the chickens, cat and horses that roamed the meadow. There is also a nice campfire ring and horse shoes. The only downside for families staying with young children is that the only dining space in the cabin is a bar with very tall stools. We ate most meals outside on the picnic table when the weather was nice. The beds are also on very tall platforms so there is a danger of falling for little ones that roll around. If you can come prepared it will help with the logistics of eating and sleeping with young children.

We had a great time staying at the cabin. It is in a very good location, just minutes from downtown Boazmen. The cabin has a hot tub which is very relaxing after a day of horseback riding and hiking. My kids loved going out in the yard to see the horses, chickens and playing horseshoes. We, also, had bon fires in the evening. Very relaxing and quiet. We would stay there again. Beth Ann

We had a great stay at the cabin. The views and the proximity to the mountains and Bozeman are perfect. The cabin is bigger than it appears and has everything one needs. We enjoyed each day and slept great from the first night there. Pete also showed my son a few secret hot fishing spots and we had a hard time getting him in at night. We hope to return soon.

This was our first visit to Montana. We could not have asked for a more perfect cabin. The cabin was exactly as it was shown on the web. The views were magnificent. The cabin was clean and just a few minutes from Bozeman. I would recommend to anyone.

My husband and I had a wonderful vacation on Rockhorse Mountain. The cabin was exceptional, it had everything you needed to feel comfortable along with being clean. There aren't enough words to describe the view of the mountains from the cabin. What really made the experience of being on Rockhorse Mountain ranch worthwhile is the host, Pete Serino. He makes you feel right at home, sharing great places to visit while in Bozeman, and some excellent eating establishments. Dave and I would like to thank Pete and his family for an awesome time in Bozeman. Dave and Ann Lepak

The pictures don't do this place justice. My husband and I just got back from our second weekend at Pete's cabin. We were there last year for our anniversary and had loved our time there. But, we had decided to try a different spot so had rented a cabin in Georgetown Lake for the weekend for just a little less than this cabin. We got there and were sorely disappointed. We go away one weekend a year to have a special romantic time alone. We had to do a little phoning to family to get Pete's number as there wasn't internet at the other cabin, but then called Pete to see if he had availability for the weekend still. We will not make that mistake again. We had another wonderfully relaxing weekend at the Rockhorse cabin. It was an expensive lesson but we were quite pleased that Pete was able to accomodate us. As in other reviews Pete is a wonderful host, there but not intrusive. The grounds are well maintained with the most amazing hiking trails just outside your door. It's quite a climb but worth every step when you reach the top and see the views. We will be back again. The property is everything you see in the photos and more. The cabin is kept in emaculate condition. You can be in Bozeman in minutes for last minute shopping or dining out. It has it all, hot tub, gas fireplace for romantic evening, grill, horseshoes, hiking, nicely detailed interior.
