A wonderful place to stay with a nice view of the beach right from your bed. Great location with multiple views of beach (master bedroom and deck) and with recent remodeling this unit is in very nice condition. We've had 2 very enjoyable visits during spring break. Even our 2 dogs were able to join us at this pet freindly unit. Access to the beach is but 50 yards from the steps of the building and can't be more convenient. Groceries and shopping are an easy 4 mile bike ride from here. Highly recommended... I know we'll return...

4416 Windswept was as represented in the VRBO information and met our expectations - we felt it was very good value. The condo was clean, comfortable and easy to live with - fine for 2 couples but too small for 6 - extra kids could work in the living room coach however. We met the owner Peter who helped us figure out the audio video system which was a bit complicated at first. Only 25 yards from the beach for great walking and close to The Sanctuary if you want to visit the hotel. It's also right next store to Heron Park. We recommend highly unless you don't want to be on 2nf level although the elevator is 50 ft away.
Owner response:Thank you for the review. It is our goal to provide every guest with a great home away from home while they are enjoying what Kiawah has to offer. We hope that you will stay with us again, and remind you that we give a 10% discount to every returning guest!

We travel to Kiawah a few times a year for weekend or longer getaways. We love the peace, serenity, pristine beaches and miles and miles of walking and biking trails at this very upscale resort. It's one of the few vacation spots we can count on as being truly relaxing (we don't feel like we need a vacation after our vacation!) Although there is a 5* hotel on property, renting a condo or villa is the way to go at Kiawah. We usually visit in the off-season, so premier beachfront 2BA 2BR (with room for 4-6 people) condos are usually available for around $250 to $350 per night. This condo was one of the more expensive ones we have stayed at. It was very nice indeed, and was accurately described in the owner's listing. However, we felt that this was overpriced given the condition of the unit. Dead bugs were found in the foyer and kitchen cabinet (when we reported this, the owner said this meant that the pest control was working!), pet hair on furnishings and blankets (since you have to pay a hefty cleaning fee, and the unit owner has strict rules about cleanup when you leave, we feel that the unit really should be clean when one arrives too!), the coffee maker was rusted and in somewhat moldy condition, and the fridge fan was making a noise that was enough to keep wake you up at night (the owner new about this, but had not fixed it by the time we had arrived). When we reported these items to the owner, he did respond with explanations about what he thought was the cause of these problems and offered a 15% discount on another stay. We expect and hope that these items will not be a problem for the next tenants. In conclusion, this was a fine unit, but we have also stayed in other units with better quality at similar or even lower prices.

Owner response:Thank you for your sincere review of our premium Kiawah villa at Windswept. We appreciate feedback as it helps us to nip issues in the bud. We are very sorry that you found some things not to your satisfaction, as we work hard to leave our villa guests completely satisfied. On the rare occasions where things are not just right, we have folks on call who can address any issues. Therefore, we wish that you had not waited until after your stay was complete to “report” these things to us. It would have been nice to have had the chance to rectify it to your satisfaction while you were there. The lion’s share of your issues are related to the fact that we have a relatively new cleaner who cleaned right after the previous guest checked out without considering the fact that there was a bit of an extended time until you checked in. This left the possibility of a pest control exterminated bug crawling into view and dying, or an accumulation of dust. Thank you for identifying this potential pitfall. We have discussed this with the cleaner and she will clean closer to check in time to avoid such negatives. Once again, thank you for your comments. The feedback is most valuable!

In October, my wife and I spent our 39th anniversary on Kiawah. The Windswept condo provided us with more than everything to make it a perfect lasting memory. The condo had all the emenities that one could wish for in a great location on the island for biking and a very brief few steps to our beach umbrella. Nice to have the deer protecting our bikes too! The deck off the living room provided us with a great place to relax, enjoy our snacks and meals and take in the great view of the ocean. No question, we'll be back - can hardly wait until the 40th.
Owner response:We are so glad that we could be a part of your significant anniversary! Please come again!

This is the 8th year that we have visited Kiawah Island and this week seems to be the same - great! We bring our bikes and see so much from the the trails. We saw our first pied deer on a golf course. Looked like this year's fawn. We saw a deer swimming in the ocean 400 yards out,we were sure it would never make land but we walked up the beach 1/4 mile and sure enouh he made it to the beach and scampered up into the brush. On the last day at 5:30 pm a bobcat came walking around the boardwalk like he owned it! He was wearing a collar. We hope Kiawah stays the same and we will keep it one of our spots.

Spencer, my duaghter's terrier, was taken for walks two or three times daily on the beach. Amamda and I rode bikes daily on the beach - total mileage was 62.3 miles for each of us. When the weather allowed, we spent time on the balcony enjoying the breeze and quiet surroundings. We very much enjoy the bike trails in the area and rate Kiawah Islands very highl on our list of places to relax. Thanks!

Our familyl was SWEPT AWAY by this Windswept Villa. The location is FANTASTIC. Every day we would sit on the balcony and have breakfast and lunch with a beautiful Ocean View. This unit was perfect for our family. My wife loved the modern kitchen. My boys loved the State of the Art home theater. I loved the fact that we had a fully equiped modern kitchen with a spacious dinning room, a wet bar, and an office nook to take care of business at the start of each day. Our master bedroom faced the ocean. We felt like we were on a honeymoon every day. This is the BEST LOCATION and THE BEST UNIT in the Windswept neighborhood. Kiawah is a dream location....this Villa gave us a Dream Vacation. We are planning to make this an annual event every year. 5 STARS ***** TO THIS VILLA!
Owner response:Thank you for your most enthusiastic review! We work very hard to try provide everything that our guests could wish for in an on the beach vacation villa. Therefore, it is very gratifying when we meet or exceed those expectations.

The weather, while cool at times, was sunny, allowing us to walk on the beach as many times as we wanted. Took a ride on the beach around to the Ocean Course club - well worth it! Wildlife sightings to date: bobcat early one morning by the boardwalk, alligators, white herons, cormorants, cardinal, white tailed deer, pelicans, bald eagles, one dolphin and horseshoe crabs..... Thanks again, we are heading back to winter, but will have wonderful memories of Kiawah.

We wanted you and the owner to know how much we have enjoyed the visit. This is a terrific condo -- great location, wonderfully equipped, and clean. We have stayed in many different rentals on Kiawah since 1986, and this is one of the nicest. We hope we have the opportunity to stay in it again. We will decide soon if we plan to come back to the Island in August for one week. We also enjoy coming here during Thanksgiving Week. Once we know our needs, I will check to see whether Windswept is available.

"The Lord gives rest to His blessed." We all thoroughly enjoyed your SC retreat! The beach and surf were outstanding. High Cotton and Rosebank Farms Cafe kept us going, between Sweet teas! We had lunch at the Ocean Course, and my black and blue salad was outstanding! Please let us know if you ever need house sitters...... God Bless your family.

Our family of two teenagers and two adults immensely enjoyed our action-packed, but also relaxing week: bike rides, beach runs, swims, tennis, golf...and reading books, hanging out and enjoying family time together. It was easy to make ourselves at home in your lovely, spacious villa. So nice to have laundry facilites too. Thanks for sharing your "home" with us!

What a great time we had here at your comfortable place here on Kiawah Island. We rested, read, talked, walked the beach and took a trip into Charleston. We even took your recommended info on a great place to have lunch - the Ocean Course Club. The day was magnificent, and the food above expectations. Probably most important, we enjoyed spending time in reading God's Word and praying together. Jesus was right when he encouraged the disciples to "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest" (Mark 6:31) Your place here was a quiet place. And we got some rest. Thanks for providing the place for this to happen. Thank you so much for this four night break from the cold and snow of Northeast Ohio. What a refreshing time!

Your home is so lovely and peaceful with a beautiful view of the ocean. We felt very welcomed and able to relax and enjoy the island. What a blessing to spend three days renewing our friendship and spirits. We hope to return one day.
