The Shaker is Small, But the Beach is Wide! The 'Shaker' is a free-standing one-room efficiency cabana, decorated in beach-house style. It is nestled among a cluster of forty small cabanas. Its features include a queen bed, a deluxe full size lay-z-boy pullout sleeper sofa with additional air mattress topper, and a kitchenette. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the amenities of home. The maximum occupancy is three people. The Shaker has four outside decks, the top decks has an amazing ocean view! Recipe for the perfect beach getaway: Just add Rum!
You can take your morning coffee with you on a stroll along the beach. While away the days in the hunt for the perfect sea shells. Watch the dolphins play in and out of the waves. Rig up a fishing pole and talk fish tales with the locals. Or grab your surf board and catch the perfect wave.

Perfect place to relax and spendtime at the beach. The owners have dona wonderful job of decorating and making sure you will have all the stuff you need. They really have thought of everything. Really enjoyed our trip!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Lost Shaker of Salt. The owners have done an excellent job of stocking this little place with everything you need to have a great vacation. The kitchen is very efficient and well stocked. There's a great selection of books and DVDs for rainy days. And beach games, chairs, and outside deck furniture and table to fully enjoy the sunny days.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners.

a great place to stay! the location is perfect and the amenities were everything we needed. i was a very relaxing vacation! the place was clean, the owner was responsive and organized about the rental process, and she also provided us with a lot of helpful information about the area (things to do, places to eat, etc). thanks!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We loved spending our anniversary at The Lost Shaker of Salt! The view from the crowss nest deck was wonderful. The beach is great with the most beautiful sunrises. Erin has taken great pains to decorate and furnish the cabana in a comfortable style. If you need a peaceful, relaxing getaway this is the place to go!! We plan to visit again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This property is extremely well put together. Erin has decorated it well and has thought of everything to really bring it together for those staying at the cabana. It was bright and cheerful and had all the amenties we needed to enjoy our weekend. We enjoyed walking and running on the beach. There was no end to the beachcombing. Sunsets and sunrises were unforgettable. The nature trails on Ocracoke were a nice change for an afternoon excursion. Count on cooking at the cabana in the winter months! Definitely dog friendly! We did not even have to bring our own dog bowls!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway.

About the owner: My husband and I bought the Lost Shaker of Salt in February, 2007. We started running the property as a vacation rental by owner in 2008. We live three hours away and go there regularly ourselves. Mike is in retail and I (Erin) am in computers. We are a thirty something couple. We love the Jimmy Buffett lifestyle. We love music, cocktails on the top deck, and having a great time. We are pround memebers of the Parrothead Club of Tidewater. We wanted our cabana to be relaxing, fun, and cheerful, all at the same time. We think we accomplished that at the Lost Shaker of Salt. Come check us out, we know you will be pleased!
