An Authentic Vermont Farmhouse

We just returned from our second stay at this wonderful antique farmhouse. The property has a clean and very cold pond behind the barn that kept our girls entertained for hours. The stream on the property complete with frogs was a hit too. The adults enjoyed relaxing on the patio and taking in the beautiful views of the mountains. The house itself is comfortable and inviting. There are plenty of towels and linens and the kitchen is well equipped for any sized meal. It is a great spot and we look forward to a return visit.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We spent a short 4-night vacation in the house. The surroundings are beautiful. Even in the gloomy snow-less days of the 2012 winter we enjoyed the scenic views. The owners have installed many bird feeders on the property that let us to enjoy bird watching every morning during breakfast. The house itself is very cozy and comfortable. It has all amenities and can easily accommodate two families. The heating did admirable job during the cold Vermont nights. We particularly appreciated the chance to relax in front of the booming fireplace after a whole day of skiing. It is easy to reach the two main skiing locations around Manchester – Bromley and Stratton from the house. If we have a chance, next winter we will be happy to be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The property is spectacular and really allowed us to get away from it all. We used the very clean and cool swimming pond on a couple of blistering days, and also got to use the fireplace on a chilly rainy day. We particularly liked eating berries straight from the blueberry bush and watching all of the birds eat from the feeder. We've never seen so many hummingbirds in one place before! We were even lucky enough to see a buck jump the fence across the yard, before it caught sight of us and jumped right back over. I grew up in Vermont and this home is as about as authentic-Vermont as you can hope for. We loved it and look forward to returning next summer! Note that you probably won't be able to get cell phone service (we couldn't) but there's internet access and a landline to stay connected to the outside world if you need it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.
