Location: Bald Head Island, Southern Coast, Coastal, North Carolina, USA (We are about a 35 minute car ride to Wilmington and airport)

Accommodations:  Beach House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 8)

Beach Bums is a whimsically decorated beach house on Bald Head Island with great ocean views. The house has 2 newly renovated bathrooms, four bedrooms - one king, two queens, and two singles. The bathrooms are located on either side of the house shared by two bedrooms. The two back bedrooms and great room open to a deck which extends the length of the house and offers the beautiful ocean views. The furniture on this deck is all new and very comfortable with 4 chaises,large picnic table with benches and captain chairs. All bedrooms open up to the great room which includes the kitchen, dining room, fireplace, and entertainment center.
Beach bums is located at 6 Black Skimmer off of South Bald Head Wynd. We are about a half mile from the Bald Head Island Club.
Rental rates are listed below. They include membership to the BHI Club(greens fees extra),taxes,and housekeeping at the end of your stay.Shoals Club membership additional fee.

  • This cheerful home provided our three-generation family with perfect accommodations. The large central area--kitchen, dining and living space-- brought us together; the two bedrooms with bathroom that flanked either end of the house allowed us privacy. We also spent a lot of time on the two decks, enjoying the scenery, sun and shade....The location is perfect: just a very short walk to the beach and a quick drive to the BHI Club....And there's much to do on this lovely, quiet, relaxed island.   • Beach Bums was such a quaint place to stay on BHI. This is my family's 5th time to the island and we had the most fun this year. The house was impeccably kept up and nicely updated. So far, Beach Bums had the best amenities of all the places that we've stayed. The bathrooms were spectacular. Our family dog enjoyed lounging on the front and back deck. Everything was so clean and new. We could tell a lot of TLC was given to it. The house was a very short walk to the beach which made it nice especially in the evening. Our 2 year old son had a blast riding in the golf carts and experiencing the ocean for the first time. Thanks to Leslie for being so available also to my phone calls. She was always so pleasant and I felt welcomed. Hopefully we will be back!

  • Two families each with 2 children had a fabulous stay at Beach Bums. The house is bright,airy,& whimsically decorated. Having two golf carts made it easy and fun for all. The house is well equiped for beach life with beach towels, chairs, grill ,etc. We loved reading on the main deck in the mornings. We did opt to use the Shoals Club, which was the best decision. The pool, clubhouse,beach, view were superb!

  • This was our first visit to Bald Head Island, and we were lucky enough to find “Beach Bums”! The house is great – very child and canine friendly and just like the photos – if not better. The house is in a great location and has all the necessities of home (down to the dog bed and dishes). The owner and staff were a joy to work with – pleasant, informative, and quick to answer any of our needs/requests. We’re already planning our return stay next year.

  • Just back from a wonderful stay at "Beach Bums." It was our first trip to BHI -- with two young children and two older dogs in tow. The owner and crew taking care of the home were a true joy to work with -- timely, informative, and extremely helpful. The house itself is delightful -- colorful, comfortable, and convenient to all parts of the island. It is also truly kid and pet friendly. We can't wait to return next year!

  • This house was very comfortable and great for the dogs with a fenced yard and closed of decks. Bald Head Island was very relaxing, quiet and gorgeous. Leslie gave us all the pertinent information that we needed and was great to work with. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and I would recommend this house to anyone.

  • How do we thank you for such an incredible vacation, words can not describe how incredible "Beach Bum" really is,your photography is adequate, but no one can appreciate this island until you arrive... ON BEHAVE OF MY FAMILY AND I, WE THANK YOU, AND YOUR FAMILY. THE STARLITE NIGHTS WERE ALL THAT ANYONE COULD IMAGINE, NIGHTS ON THE BEACH WERE BREATHTAKING, NONE OF US COULD REMEMBER WHEN WE HAD SEEN, SUCH BEAUTY. I PERSONALLY DO NOT REMEMBER OBSERVING A NIGHT SKY MORE BEAUTIFUL. WE WERE IN AWE!. THE LACK OF LIGHT POLLUTION, MADE THE VIEWS BREATHTAKING! THE FRYING PAN SHOALS WERE WONDERFUL, WITH OUR DOG, "IVEY" WE PLAYED LIKE THE CHILDREN THAT WE REMEMBER OUR SELVES AS TO BE... WE CAN NOT THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY...   • We just got back after another amazing week in BHI. We are long time renters of various properties on the island over many years and were EXTREMELY pleased with this rental. The location is awesome, close to all the things that make BHI such an amazing vacation spot. The owners were so accommodating and great to work with. There were a few snags with the golf carts, but with a phone call one was rented for us by the owners of this property and all was taken care of. The beds are so comfortable and we even with the age of the house, it was very charming, clean and up to date. Our small border collie LOVED the pet bed, the pet dog dishes and had the time of her life. Thanks so much to Tom and Leslie and we will be sure to come back to this house........best thing that happened....my wife and I were taking a late night walk on East beach and watched a turtle come ashore to lay eggs...once in a lifetime experience!
