Flew into Panama for a quick overnight in Panama City before heading further down the coast. Jose, the caretaker of the apartment, picked us up at the airport. That was great because we didn’t know much Spanish. He whisked us away in his taxi and was very happy to play tour guide and tell us about different sites as we drove along. The apartment was very central and easy to deal with. We couldn’t take our eyes off the view from the huge windows all night! The next day we took a quick walk along the waterfront, which was only 2 blocks away. Everything was very central and we wished we were staying in the city longer. The apartment was very convenient to several restaurants we saw and some services, like Fedex, which we might have used for business. Too bad ours was only a flying visit and if we get a chance to stay longer in the city next time, we will certainly stay there.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Given the description and pictures we expected elegance but got satisfactory. We never saw a half bath off the laundry area; the other bathrooms are adequate and small although having 2 bathrooms is nice. The location where the booming business/financial area and the neglected older area meet is an interesting junction of two worlds. Street noise necessitated keeping windows closed even when we would have liked outside air. The building management and other residents were friendly and helpful. Jose is an excellent contact person and source of information! This apartment and location were okay for us as we are seasoned go-it-alone travellers.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+.

Our family loved our stay at his great penthouse! It had everything we needed including a computer and printer with high speed internet. Comfy beds, large flat screen TV's in the master bedroom and living room made relaxing fun! The building is a short walk away from restaurants and stores and is located in one of the best areas of the city. Sarah has thought of everything and her taxi driver Jose is very friendly, honest and reliable. You will enjoy your vacation here!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Angie for your kind words.. Jose is in fact becoming more and more famous than he knows :) Happy to have you and see you next time! Sarah

Hola & Howdy Folks! Because I had such a Great time in Panama, I decided to share some info with others who may consider renting this "penthouse" apartment. I hghly recommend this to anyone, from 1 to 4 people. It is even BETTER than the photos indicate! I was lucky to just use it for myself, but had a couple guests for dinner, etc. It was sooo GREAT. Penthouse 14th (top) floor of a nice buiding with 24/hour entrance security, and a phone and buzzer system to notify you of guests. The views are outstanding, day & night.I was in the kitchen often, either cooking up fresh $5 to $6.00 a pound JUMBO shrimp, or grabbing a quick snack or cold beverage to comfort me. The day I arrived, I went food shopping to stock the place for quick meals and snacks I needed when I did not dine out. I did both! That is such a great feature. Don't think I will stay at hotels anymore! This was so much like living in my house, comfortable. The included use of the computer, internet, and cell phone were a BIG plus also! You WILL use the cell phone, it's quite handy. I could stay in touch with things as little or as much as I wanted. This apartment is near Balboa Ave & a NEW 2009 modern meandering shoreline bike/walk/jogging paths area named Cinta Costera (sp?), (10 minute walk from the apartment) where it is fun to walk, and people watch, see the local culture enjoying recreation with their families, kids, and friends. It is also near many of the places you will want to go & see.Sarah, the apartment owner, is friendly and easy to work with. You can email her, she will answer EVERY question, offer suggestions, etc.She has a management company in Panama who will arrange your ride from the airport, and take you right to the apartment, where they show you around inside. If you find you need anything, there is a good info "notebook" to inform & explain some things. There's more I could say, but the bottom line is that it was fun, I felt safe, comfortable, and was very pleased to find this place on VRBO. This was the first time I ever used VRBO. You may call me if you have any questions about this apartment, or about Panama, where I now have gone 3 TIMES!!! Goodbye & good luck....Adios & Buenas suerte!!! ~ Mark G. from Tucson, AZDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Dear Sarah, well, this was our second stay with you in a different location, and we were so impressed! The views from your apartment, the location and nearby restaurants (Masala and the other indian.., excellent!!) were such a pleasant surprise. Maximo was so helpful to us right from the warm greeting at the airport, to assisting us in gaining back our luggage the following day. We have now had the opportunity to sample your city and beach properties and we love Panama so much, that we have just purchased a little pad of our own. So, now we will have our own place to stay, but we are sending all our friends to you!! thank you for everything, Dan and MichelleDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Follows is the flood of memories produced from my recent stay in Panama Sarah’s condo in Panama City- a two bedroom condo tastefully decorated, beautifully furnished (thanks Sarah, for not letting the furniture get crappy, keeping it new, attractive, high-end, expensive- do you buy new furniture from time to time?) Inside and out, what a great condo with spectacular views of the City, harbor and canal from the 14th floor, high and free from the traffic noise.I regret that I ever decided to stop living in the Hispanic world where I had spent nine of the happiest years of my life (Spain 6, México 3) . I have an immense shared love with Hispanic people, started 40 years ago when I decided in the university to become fluent in Spanish. Just in case you are not fluent in Spanish and feel "spooky about the Hispanic world" once you establish contact with Sarah/José via email and/or cell a “real person-to-person" relationship develops in Panama City with the Sarah/Jose team. Sarah is a Canadian. Jose a super Panameño who speaks great English. These two compadres are pleasant, honest and may I add a pleasure to be with – especially if they invite you to a four-hour Hispanic lunch in any one of the incredible restaurants in the City, having pricing right out of the 1980s, rarely do meals come to more that $25-$40 per person, including wine.José, a handsome/guapo panameño/Panamanian, with his comfortable air-conditioned car and his super hispanic persona, will meet any of your transportation, guiding and tourist needs in the city. He'll share with you his knowledge and love for Panama. ¡Qué país! ¡Viva Panamá! More on Sarah: Just in case you'd like a little more comfort and confidence in dealing with a private rental owner, below is the first email I sent her upon my return:"That was the greatest of afternoon's lunches with you and José. You are a super Lady. I like everything about you. I hope my 15 year old daughter comes out with half of what you've got. What an intelligent, attractive person and businesswoman, one who has it together AND knows how to enjoy living al stylo hispano. I've finally awaken again to know that I can't live any longer here in Gringolandia. I'm moving to Panamá as soon as I can make the arrangements.”Thanks again for making my stay so pleasant with your condon serving as a beautiful and comfortable base to make my explorations ofDid you find this review helpful? My friend and I stayed in this lovely 2-bedroom apartment for 10 days. It had everything we needed, including a nice kitchen so we could cook when we wanted, and a washer/dryer combo, which allowed us to pack light. We walked everywhere from this great location, evn though cabs are inexpensive. Easy access to some great restaurants, whether you head toward El Cangrejo or Obarrio, or go out along the bay toward multicentro. Best of all, for two people to share the rental cost gives a great bargain, much homier than staying in a hotel and having to go out for every meal. The apartment is loaded with amenities which make it a great deal. Two separate bedrooms and baths make it doubly nice.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: With over 20 years of Property Management and Vacation rental experience in Canadian Ski resorts and Mexican Beach resorts, I am delighted to add Panama City Executive Apartments to my rental portfolio. I left the big business of property management behind and now focus on investing, renovating, furnishing and renting my own apartments and condos. My clients and renters have become friends and we socialize and network regularly. Love Panama!
Why the Owner Chose Panama City:
Panama is such an amazing country and surprises everyone who visits. First world meets third world. The people are so kind and generous, the weather is wonderful year round. This particular location is in a green haven in the middle of the city. Panama City has the best restaurants, nightlife and still friendly people.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
I love staying in this property (I have 5 in Panama City), as it was my first home here in the country. The location is great, I can walk just about everywhere I need to go, and my neighbours are great. It is booked so often now, I rarely get to stay., but I sneak in between bookings where I can. The building is very well cared for, it's only 6 years old and well maintained. The concierge and security guards are caring and diligent and always helpful.
