Casa Iguana is an outstanding value for couples, families, and friends. This home is part of a 3-home, 2.5 acre gated complex. Our beachfront lot is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Santa Teresa’s exclusive North end. The best surf break in the area is located directly in front of the property. Santa Teresa is known for its consistent surf, pristine white sand beaches, and relaxed atmosphere.
We are located approximately one mile (1.2 km) north of the center of town. Casa Iguana is steps to the beach and has a serene walking path through a tropical Butterfly garden "Mariposario" directly to the ocean without having to cross any main roads.
This comfortable 800 square foot (75m2) two-bedroom, one-bath house is surrounded by tropical hardwood trees and exotic local fauna. The kitchen is well equipped with a 18 cubic foot refrigerator, four burner gas stove and oven, bar style dining set for four, toaster, blender, coffee maker and more. The adjoining living room area has matching hardwood furniture set and is tastefully decorated Costa Rican style. The bedrooms are both the same size. One has a queen bed and the other one has two singles. Both bedrooms have ample closet space and A/C, and of course there is hot water. An outdoor back terrace provides an area to hang wet bathing suits, and an outdoor shower.
The house has a wonderful outdoor terrace with palm roof with chairs and hammocks. This is a good place to share quality time with friends and family or to simply read a book and relax.
Our lush & abundant gardens include a wide variety of mature tropical hardwoods, cocos, various palms, bananas, plantanes, papayas, lemons & guava trees, plumerias, & flowering tropical plants such as hibiscus, jasmine, heliconias, bromelias, tabacones & much more. Monkeys, iguanas, paroquets are just a few of the creatures you may see & hear right from your terrace.
Mariposa property is a 3-house complex with electric gate at the main entrance. If you wish to accommodate more than one family please contact us or visit our website for more information. The property is private, secure and well maintained.

My Dad was an executive w/Sheraton & Omni hotels, so I grew up in & @ the hospitality business. I first came to CR, in '96 to guide the Pacuare river with Rios Tropicals, while on summer break from grad school. I quickly fell in love with CR & came back every summer since. In 2000 I moved to CR for a year & began "The Search". In 2002 I was able to transition back to CR full time & purchased this magnificent beachfront parcel in '03 w/the sale of my Aspen property. I am an ex-Aspen, Colorado foreign language teacher, who is actively involved as a volunteer at the local public school. I have dedicated my full time efforts to developing and running a first class beach home rental operation, where people can come and relax, renew and enjoy one of the prettiest beaches in anywhere in the world...Santa Teresa, CR. Mariposa Vacation Homes, is the result of many years of dedicated work to achieve that goal.
