We rent homes everywhere we travel, and found Bonnie's Sea Ledge to be the neatest experience of our lives. The view is outstanding, and the house was in brand new move in ready condition. There are too many special features of the house to mention. It was beautifully decorated and fantastically clean. Bonnie was also so very friendly and helpful in accomodating us. We could not of asked for a better location, with many helpful hints for where to eat and what to do. Thank you very much Bonnie for our most memorable vacation home ever!
Owner response:I love to see the experience that my guests have here at my homes and our beautiful island. Having a memorable vacation is my goal for everyone.

We enjoyed this house immensely. It was a beautiful home with great views, excellent amenities and a short drive to Acadia Park and downtown. We will certainly chose this house the next time we visit Bar Harbor. -Teri Quirk
Owner response:We are always so pleased to know that all of our hard work that goes into both Sea Ledge and Cliffside at Sandcliff by the Sea is truly enjoyed by our guests. We take pride in providing the most comfortable of homes and that our guests appreciate the amenities...

My husband and I had a lovely honeymoon at Sea Ledge. The house was neat and clean. The living area of the home is very comfortable. I especially enjoyed all the beautiful house plants. The kitchen was fully equipped with ample pots, pans, dishes, cooking utensils, and a variety of herbs and spices. The view from the master bedroom is gorgeous (and had it been a bit warmer, we could have left the slider open to hear the ocean waves)! The bed was extremely comfortable, providing a good night's sleep after long hikes through Acadia. The house's location is excellent...minutes to a Park entrance and downtown Bar Harbor, but nestled in the woods away from it all! The booklets and brochures provided by Bonnie helped us plan a fabulous trip. We did not encounter any problems during our stay, but I felt confident that Bonnie would have addressed any concerns as they arose.
Owner response:So glad to hear that people have a wonderful experience at Sea Ledge. I strive to make everyone comfortable and have the best vacation!

Wonderful Family Vacation at Sea Ledge

My family along with my Mother and Step-Father spent a week at Sea Ledge in July and had a wonderful experience. The home lovely and comfortable and in a perfect location, with beautiful wooded areas and only a few miles from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The home was well equiped, particularly the kitchen which made it easy to prepare family meals. The back deck, where we had most of our meals, was private with a lovely garden and flower boxes. And just up the hill is a blueberry patch that yielded an endless supply of the wild blueberries Maine is so famous for. My 5 year old daughter went along with her Grandmother every morning to collect them and add them to the pancakes. The views are spectacular, particularly from the master bedroom. The outdoor table had a broken leg that my Step-Father tied together to hold and when we mentioned this to Bonnie she had a brand new table deliver the next day. We hope to make a return visit to this beautiful area and would definitely make Sea Ledge our 'home away from home' again.

The house was large and roomy, with ample amenities. Two flights of steep stairs to get from the ground floor to the bedrooms can be a bit of a bother for the unwary or those in ill-health. Removing a couple of trees in front of the second floor balcony would vastly improve the view of Frenchman's Bay, although the view of the bay from the third floor balcony was great. The property includes a blueberry and rapsberry patch, and its own little waterfall, delightful diversions. It's conveniently located 15 minutes from both the Bar Harbor Airport in one direction and the town of Bar Harbor in the other, and only 10 minutes from the Acadia National Park Visitors Center.
Owner response:Sea Ledge is a 3 story house. I always inform my guests that there is a turret that leads to all three floors. I will certainly take a good look at the trees in the front of the house to open up the view from the second floor, as the views really are spectacular. Thanks for the tip.

The house was well equipped in all areas and the location was ideal for quick access to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The living room furniture was filthy and smelled like dogs so we had to cover it with sheets from the linen closet. We lifted the cushions of the one sofa to see if it was a sleep sofa and it was literally filled with dirt and junk! The LR carpet was covered in dog hair and smelled like dogs so my husband had to shampoo the carpet upon arriving. Do not rent this house if you have pet allergies. The decks and deck furniture were dirty and we had to clean everything before sitting on it. The master bedroom is enormous but the other two bedrooms barely have enough room to turn around in. They are extremely small and the beds were very uncomfortable. We loved the location but would not rent this house again. It would be perfect for people traveling with pets. The owner also owns the house next door which we peeked into and it looked clean and gorgeous!
Owner response:As the owner of both Sea Ledge and Cliffside, I appreciate any and all recommendations to make my guests have the best acommodations and amenities. We are indeed pet friendly, and welcome your pet to our homes, There are three people that have been cleaning for me that take special care to ensure that ALL pet hair is vacumed, deodorizer is sprayed on all couch, chairs, etc. The carpet in the living room is a 4'x6' area rug, with a stone coffee table that sits on it. I personally inspect the entire house prior to arrival of our next guests. The deck furniture outside is Telecope mesh furniture, steel frames, with a dozen white plastic chairs stacked up for additional guests. I have gone through them, and bleached and cleaned each chair. The couch and loveseat are covered with slipcovers, and a new furniture has been ordered for delivery. The third floor has three bedrooms, two beds which have been purchased just this year, with pillow top mattresses. Our beds are equiped with 800-1000 count sheets, 100% goosedown comforters, with goosedown pillows (6 on each bed). Sea Ledge and Cliffside have many similar amenities. Sea Ledge is two floors of living with all bedrooms on the third floor, The master bedroom is indeed luxurious, with the two smaller bedrooms located in the back side of the house. Cliffside however has three floors of living, with a family room, wet bar, bath, and queen size bed tucked into an alcove on the first floor. The second floor is the mail living area, with the third floor having a master bedroom, smaller bedroom, and separate bath. In ensuring that future guests choose the proper house for their personal needs, I stress the layout of both houses for their choice. Both houses are cleaned by the same professionals and myself who take pride in our work. We encourage feedback, and appreciate any and all suggestions. It is indeed unfortunate, that for 8 years these houses have been rented, with only one negative review. I will be contacting previous guests to hopefully give another perspective to future guests.
