This lodging is a wonderful, private, one bedroom, Sebastopol cottage, great for anyone wanting some peaceful, pleasant privacy right in the middle of beautiful, vibrant Sonoma County.
The cottage is excellent as a separate space while here visiting local family and friends. Perfect for leisurely vacationers, wine country adventurers, and those attending workshops or special events in the area. You can enjoy all the pleasures of this private cottage, with convenient access to the great variety of Sonoma County activities and bounty all around!
This is a rare tucked away private wine-country style cottage, below local chain motel room prices! We also have no cleaning fee, which can add a substantial 'hidden' rate increase to other quoted rates. We do have a three night minimum during October thru April, and a four night minimum stay May through September. We take pride in offering this low rate as this is what we also love to discover when we travel. We hope this unusual affordability increases the pleasure of your travels and encourages adventures in these more challenging financial times. See rate info below for specific details.
Only 2 minutes to Sebastopol, yet feels like country. Sebastopol is a terrific small West County town with delicious restaurants, fun shopping, and great leisurely walking opportunities. It is a lovely 20 minute drive to the ocean and a direct 15 minute drive to Santa Rosa. Location has nice access to other Sonoma County towns and wineries. We are one hour to Napa Valley or marvelous San Francisco. So much to see and do every season of the year, or just stay 'home' at the cottage and relax!
One bedroom (545 sq. ft.) cottage is next to our main, country house but is completely private, separate, bright, with trees and birds and no visual access from the cottage of our home.
Cottage has ground level entrance (one step). Cheerful and comfy, with gas cooking stove, full kitchen, skylights, coffee maker, microwave, gas fireplace, queen bed, laminate floors, dishes, towels, small deck, T.V./DVD/VCR/CD player, tub and shower, and reserved parking space. Located off a private, paved rural lane. (The main house and cottage are not visible on Google maps street-level view, as they are set back from the road.)
The cottage is ideal for 1-2 people, but can possibly accommodate a third person, especially child. Please ask for details.
IMPORTANT: NO SMOKING in cottage or anywhere on property (sorry, but this is firm). Quiet, private home atmosphere. Small pets may be possible. Pets must be approved by owner before booking.
No housekeeping service provided, but plenty of clean sheets and towels supplied. Full laundry with detergents in the cottage for your convenience.

Acorn Ridge Cottage is extremely comfortable and cozy. It's a feel good place with light colored decor and woodwork that complements the sunshine and creates what have to be described as "good vibes." It's the kind of atmosphere that will enhances memories of a good vacation. And on the practical side everything you could possibly need is provided. I liked that the kitchen stocked the things that you need only little bits of such olive oil, sugar, etc. Check with the hosts before you buy eggs as the organic hens may be providing on site. Laurie was instantly available for any questions or needs I had. Top notch.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Acorn Ridge was a great little cottage . We enjoyed the peace and calm of the area it is in. The bed was just right for a good nites sleep. The hospitality was great and the chocolates were delicious along with the organic eggs that are laid by the hens right next to the cottage. The location was nice and close to the wineries , yard sales and the antique shops in Sebastapol , Santa Rosa and Healdsburg. Laurie was such a great source of ideas for dining , shopping and the areas highlights.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

One correction to this review: Our small chicken coop is actually down the drive from the cottage and not visible or audible from the cottage, although to hen lovers, this is not far to go.

Acorn Ridge is a gem! This cottage is perfectly appointed and clean, with top-notch appliances (even a washer and dryer) and lots of homey touches. The property is lovely and peaceful and surrounded by oaks. Laurie went out of her way to make me feel welcome and at home. I plan to be back in the area next year and hope to stay here again. the cottage is quiet, comfortable and a terrific bargain. charles greeted us, he was so sweet!! the cottage was clean and the little touches made our stay so pleasant. laurie had lots of unexpected amenities. laundry soap, dish liquid etc. the washer and dryer were a added bonus. plenty of linens and towels. the sebastopol area was beautiful. about 70 minutes from san fransisco and right in the heart of wine country. we drove up route 1 as far as point arena, the coastline scenery was amazing. if we ever go to the west coast again , we would love to stay at acorn ridge. thank you for everything ...Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We stayed at Acorn Ridge for a week to visit and provide assistance to an ailing parent. After some chore-filled days, it was an amazing relief to return to such a beautiful stress-free setting. Laurie's thoughtfulness and the wonderful cottage helped to turn what might have been a stress-filled visit into a wonderful experience that we will always treasure. The cottage is located in a private spot surrounded by lovely gardens and wonderful trees. Although the cottage is close to downtown Sebastopol, the only sounds we heard were birds singing. The interior of the cottage blends perfectly with its setting. The windows are large, the cut flowers were beautiful, and the overall feeling is a combination of serenity and joy. Laurie's thoughtfulness, generosity, and attention to detail were abundantly evident. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry were well stocked. There was even a waffle iron along with mix and syrup. (We did not use these because we really wanted to savor the delicious fresh eggs Laurie brought us from her beautiful chickens.) The coffee was great and even the meausuring cups were beautiful. Laurie was terrific, she answered questions thoroughly both before and during our visit, she was always available by cell phone, and she was great to talk with. She was obviously willing to go out of her way to make our visit enjoyable and yet she was never intrusive. I hope we will be able to stay at Acorn Ridge again and I would recommend it without hesitation.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

After a month in the Bay area, and staying in a number of different places. Acorn Ridge stood out as one of our favorites. The hosts-Laurie & Charles were enthusiastic, knowledgable, and sincerely wanted us to have the best possible experience. We were warmly welcomed, and provided an exceptional and well appointed, clean and quiet space at a terrific price. Our first visit to Wine Country and we had the good fortune to be welcomed by Laurie! She is warm, hospitable, and more than willing to provide tips regarding restaurants and places to see while respecting her guests privacy. The cottage was perfectly appointed; it had everything including tea, coffee, and chocolates to welcome you, and the setting is private but accessible. It's a few minutes from town where you'll find everything you might need (Starbucks, food market, etc). The wineries & the town Sonoma are an easy drive from Sebastopol. We spent 10 days at Acorn Ridge from 10/28/2011 to 11/7/2011. Our son, dil and 2 granddaughters live in Napa but 950 square feet is a bit tight for 6! When we come from GA to visit we like to stay within driving distance but in different locations so we can do some exploring as well. The cottage was perfect. Comfy bed, peaceful setting, helpful and thoughtful host, great area. Loved having the laundry facility as we try to fly "carry on" even for 10 days! The stove heated added a special touch and provided plenty of heat. We enjoyed the Redwood Forest about 30 minutes away, a great bread bakery, many local farms, jellies, Korbel Champagne, if you are near Petaluma check out angelossmokehouse.com/ .Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Just back from a 3 night stay at Acorn Ridge. This lovely property had everything we needed to settle in and relax after a day of wine tasting. The cottage is immaculate with lots of amenities and a very comfy bed. We cooked in the well equipped kitchen and spent evenings on the private little deck enjoying the quiet. Our hostess Laurie checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and thoughtfully provided coffee and chocolate when we arrived. I highly recommend.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
