After a month in the Bay area, and staying in a number of different places. Acorn Ridge stood out as one of our favorites. The hosts-Laurie & Charles were enthusiastic, knowledgable, and sincerely wanted us to have the best possible experience. We were warmly welcomed, and provided an exceptional and well appointed, clean and quiet space at a terrific price. Highly recommended!

Our first visit to Wine Country and we had the good fortune to be welcomed by Laurie! She is warm, hospitable, and more than willing to provide tips regarding restaurants and places to see while respecting her guests privacy. The cottage was perfectly appointed; it had everything including tea, coffee, and chocolates to welcome you, and the setting is private but accessible. It's a few minutes from town where you'll find everything you might need (Starbucks, food market, etc). The wineries & the town Sonoma are an easy drive from Sebastopol. I would happily stay here again. Thank you, Laurie!

Just back from a 3 night stay at Acorn Ridge. This lovely property had everything we needed to settle in and relax after a day of wine tasting. The cottage is immaculate with lots of amenities and a very comfy bed. We cooked in the well equipped kitchen and spent evenings on the private little deck enjoying the quiet. Our hostess Laurie checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and thoughtfully provided coffee and chocolate when we arrived. I highly recommend.

We spent 10 days at Acorn Ridge from 10/28/2011 to 11/7/2011. Our son, dil and 2 granddaughters live in Napa but 950 square feet is a bit tight for 6! When we come from GA to visit we like to stay within driving distance but in different locations so we can do some exploring as well. The cottage was perfect. Comfy bed, peaceful setting, helpful and thoughtful host, great area. Loved having the laundry facility as we try to fly "carry on" even for 10 days! The stove heated added a special touch and provided plenty of heat. We enjoyed the Redwood Forest about 30 minutes away, a great bread bakery, many local farms, jellies, Korbel Champagne, if you are near Petaluma check out angelossmokehouse.com/ .

We stayed at Acorn Ridge Cottage for the weekend to attend a wedding but will definitely be back for some R&R later! The cottage was darling, clean, well-maintained, and so comfortable!! It had everything you would want even down to a laundry room (which we didn't use but was nice to have in case of need). There was wonderful scented local shampoo, conditioner, and soap - and, local complimentary coffee which was very delicious!! Laurie, the owner, was so helpful and friendly but not intrusive at all. She offered us fresh eggs from their chickens when we arrived so we could have eggs for breakfast the next morning and they were delicious! One of our daughters wasn't feeling well and we needed to take her to the doctor. I called Laurie and she was so helpful in finding us a convenient urgent care and even looking up the directions to give to us to get there! The cottage is located among big, beautiful oak trees and you feel like you are really out among nature but it is close to town as well. Laurie provided us with a map when we arrived and pointed out grocery stores, etc. in town to make our visit more enjoyable. And, she was available, if needed, for any other questions we might have or recommendations we might need. We were pretty busy due to the wedding so we are hoping to visit Sebastopol when we have more time to explore the area, do some wine-tasting, and visit some farms in the outlying areas as well. We are looking forward to staying at Acorn Ridge Cottage again soon!!

This is a true gem among VRBO's. Where to start... Comfort & Convenience: From all the appliances to kitchen necessities; plush towels & linens to toiletries, the cottage has everything you need for a short or long stay, whether you like to eat in or out. Location & Setting: Though in Sebastopol and just 15 minutes from Santa Rosa, the cottage feels like it is in the country. Set amid oak trees and wine barrels planted with lovely herbs and beautiful flowers, Acorn Ridge wraps you in peace and contentment. After a busy day of wine-tasting or enjoying the many activities available nearby, you can be quickly rejuvenated when you return to the cottage - so cozy and cheerful. The owners live on the property and are accommodating and accessible if needed but there is complete privacy. This is our second visit to Acorn Ridge and we will return again.

Laurie gave helpful information about what to do and where to visit in this beautiful area, as well as being very welcoming and gracious. Her level of attentiveness was just right. The area provided so much to do: good shopping and food in Sebastapol (and other towns nearby), wineries galore, Redwood forests and the ocean nearby. This was a wonderful vacation and Laurie's hospitality helped to make it so.

We spent 2 weeks at Acorn Ridge visiting our new grandson and his parents. Not certain what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised by the cheeriness of the cottage and fell into an "at home" mentality right away. Owneres were attentive and there if we needed them. Only saw them once the entire stay. They offered their bike rack to my husband when they saw him trying to get his bike into the trunk. We have been to the area many times but continue to enjoy all there is to do in the area. Weather was perfect, sunny and mid 70s most of the time. Went to the ocean, enjoyed meals at the many area restaurants. Don't miss breakfast at Howard's in Occidental. Visited Healdsburg for lunch and wine tasting. Hope to be back!

My husband and I stayed at Acorn Cottage for a three day visit while visiting family in Santa Rosa. The cottage was just as cute as the pictures showed and very well tended. The gas stove was so cozy and really heated the whole cottage nicely, it was lovely to go to sleep with the flames flickering. The cottage was very clean and I'm fussy about that. Laurie and Charles were very helpful with getting us settled in and with local information. It was also a great bargain for that area. We'll be back the next time we visit the kids.

I have stayed here more than once for work in near by Santa Rosa and Windsor. This little cottage is exactly as portrayed. Quiet, peaceful, restful, restoring. The property is well maintained and the cottage is clean and inviting. Laurie and her family are friendly, hospitable and helpful without being intrusive. I'll stay here again and again, and recommend it to friends and family.

This was absolutely perfect for my family! My husband, 16-month-old, and I (6 months pregnant) were trying to find something roomy and affordable for us to stay in while we visited family in the area. This couldn't have been more perfect! The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed to create delicious meals, the bed was very comfortable, and the cable was a nice additive to keep my 16-month-old busy while we were getting ready for the day! The owners were very hospitable and were there if we ever needed them! Thanks for such a great experience!

My husband and I spent a week in this cozy cottage in May while visiting my son, daughter-in-law and new grandson. The cottage was very clean, well-appointed, light and cheery, the bed very comfortable. The owners were very accomodating, but not at all intrusive. The country setting is beautiful and peaceful, yet it is a short jump to downtown Sebastopol. We would definitely like to return.

My husband and I moved into Acorn Ridge for two weeks and settled in easily though we were far from home. The bed was cozy and the fireplace kept the rooms at the perfect temperature. The space was private and quiet---the hooting of owls at night contributed to the rustic ambiance. (They must have been in "cahoots"!) Many mornings we were able to eat breakfast while watching deer across the road. The cottage was well stocked with kitchen and bathroom necessities and we found the washer and dryer a definite advantage to our comfort. The vineyard view was fine local color as well. The proprietors were cheery, helpful people but non-intrusive. Have fun, fellow wanderers.
