This is a newer custom home with granite and natural stone throughout, like no other. The homeowner is a tile mason. A very warm, comfortable home, with fireplaces in living room and Master bedroom. The house was designed for most of the rooms to have an ocean and/or lighthouse view. Home is across the street from oceanfront and has an easy beach access.
All beds have high thread count sheets, lots of comfy pillows, and some beds are high end pillow top mattresses. Way better than the finer hotels!! Both master bedrooms upstairs allow you to lie in bed looking out over the ocean, and listen to the soft ocean roar, while watching TV with the fireplace going in the larger master. We have a large great room perfect for wntertaining large groups.
Large master: King bed, Crib matress, Portable Crib
Small master: Queen bed
Bedroom #3: King bed, Bunk bed with full size on bottom and twin on top.
Bedroom #4 Queen bed
Bedroom #5 Full size bed
Living room: Full size futon, couch

We had a great time at the house. There was plenty of room for sleeping, cooking, eating and just hanging out. The weekend that we went was wonderful weather which made the beach excellent. We walked and explored for hours. Very nice house and location. The trail to the beach can be a bit slippery when wet.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What an amazing weekend! The house was perfect the description really matched. You can see and hear the ocean from it, helped add to a fun relaxing beach weekend. It was clean and set-up nicely for a large group. I found the owner to be completely personable and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The house was great. It was an ideal set-up for the 2 families that we had stay because one family had the two bedrooms upstairs and one family had the three bedrooms downstairs. We were able to meet in the middle for the great living area! The owner was great to work with. There were just a few little problems, but I am sure the owner will take care of them. We just loved Newport!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My family, eight people in 3 generations, enjoyed a marvelous week at the house. The listing was quite accurate, and the photos were helpful. The place was clean enough that the most exacting housekeeper in the group had no complaints. The owner dealt quickly and helpfully with one minor issue. I would recommend the house to anyone with a large group in tow. One group enjoyed the ocean tour, and all enjoyed the Bay front as well as the aquarium. There's a family style restaurant in the Safeway shopping center--blue roof, good old-fashioned food, terrific pies. Can't remember the name. And had one terrific meal on the Bayfront, which again I can't remember. The beaches, of course. And for a change of pace with small children, the nearby movie complex. Would recommend providing, if possible, a local mad (found one in old phone book after a few days) and some recommended restaurants. But anyone smart enough to get there should be able to handle this.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is a beauitful home. We found it to be very comfortable and cozy. Loved being able to go for nice walk on the beach and then come back to a nice cozy fire. The bedrooms and beds are very comfortable. This house will accomadate a family for a reunion or four couples easily. Lincoln City (casino) and Newport are both nearby so there is lots to do. Or you can just relax anf hang out. I highly recommend this house.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was a perfect house for getting away with a few friends and meeting others.. My Boyfriend and I spent the weekend in this wonderful seaside home where everything is bright, cheery, clean; felt as comfortable as home except a beautiful seaside location! Main roads for shopping are easily accessible and plenty of parking for multiple cars. I would definitely recommend this rental..Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a family reunion here in August. There was enough room for everyone to eat in the living/dining area, and there was ample space for socializing. The refrigerator was too small; otherwise the kitchen was quite functional. Beds were comfortable but the futon was not. There were only two small trash cans outside, which was inadequate; we hauled trash off. We were told not to park in the street, so there was only room to park 4 cars. Extra parking was available 1/2 mile away, but it took several phone calls to get the ok from that property manager. No one in our party smoked in the house, but the housekeeper reported tobacco smell to the offsite owner and he kept our full deposit despite our protests.Owner response: This was very unfurtunate!! We have only held a doposit twice in four years, but we advertise a smoke and pet free home as many of our guests have allergies and cant/wont tolerate ciggarette or pet smells. I personally have checked into hotels where the smoke was evedent and had to change rooms. Unforrtunatley, this is a home and people dont have the luxury of changing rooms. Our housekeeping staff is the best in the business and when she entered the house and detected a strong ciggarette smoke smell, we had to do extra cleaning which ate up the deposit.

Our extended family spent 7 days at the house. A few observations: the lower level sleeps 9, which was perfect. However, there were only 5 bath towels available for our use. That was a daily problem. We ended up using our beach towels. The nights were quite chilly and there were no extra blankets available. There was scant bedding available for the futon on the main. Also, cookware was in short supply. We made several trips to the $$ store supplementing what was there. The oven appeard to be on it's last leg, but worked fine. Additionally, the walk to the beach was NOT easy. The path disintegrated about 1/2 way down and became very uneven and rocky and difficult to navigate. Don't make the walk after dark as it is unlit. We bought a broom and dustpan as none was available, and the vaccuum did not 'suck'. Other than that, the common space easily accomodated all 19 of us with plenty of seating at meal time. The ocean was only partially visible through the trees accross the street. The light house is not visible from the house. The next door neighbor was quite friendly.Owner response: We value these comments as we dont get to the house often, and unfortunately things do get broken or come up missing. We keep 15 bath towels in the house at all times, 5 per full bathroom. We have restocked the kitchen quite well, and have also assured that each bedroom gets an extra blanket.

I enjoyed my stay at the beach house. The path on the walk down to the beach was beautiful! It was a very relaxing time, just me and my two beautiful children, who also had a great time. Plenty of room! Lots of stuff to do and places to go! I look forward to returning sometime in the future when work allows! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!Did you find this review helpful? Love love love this place! It's our 4th year coming back here and my family looks forward to it every year! The location is perfect. And the house is magnificant with the view of the ocean and light house. It's large enough that several families can share it at a time. The furniture is so comfortable. And the beds are the best I've ever slept in! Jerry has done such a great job furnishing this house, he has thought of everything that a person needs. The house sits up high so you have a great view from every room. The neighborhood is so quiet. The only thing you hear is the ocean! Just a short walk to a secluded beach. Whether it's a walk on the beach or jog or just beach combing. It's always a different experience. And just a short drive into town where you can go down to the bay front with the best sea food, shops, and attractions. We love exploring the light houses and different candy shops. There's always so much to do in Newport. Thanks Jerry, can't wait to come back in 2011!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
