Charming 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in a recreational paradise less than 4 hours from the Twin Cities. Lutsen's ski hills are just 1/2 a mile up Ski Hill Road, you can see the ski runs from the master bedroom window. This is the best skiing in Midwest! Cross country ski, snowshoe or take dog sled and sleigh rides at Superior National's Nordic Center right across the road. Miles of snowmobile trails through incredible forests are easily accessible.
Hundreds of miles of spectacular hiking trails criss cross the forests and mountains. Mountain biking and horseback riding are available at the top of the hill. Kids of all ages will love the Alpine Slide just up the road. Golf 27 holes at the spectacular Superior National Golf course right across Ski Hill Road.
Our home was professionally decorated and it's beautifully furnished. It sleeps 6 in comfort and style. The master bedroom suite offers a private retreat after a hard day at play. There's a whirlpool for two and a private bath and every window offers a beautiful view of mountains, trees or Lake Superior.
Set in the trees on with no buildings behind it to block the view. Every window that faces the lake has a view of the lake as does the covered deck and screen porch. There's a fire ring to gather around for evenings under the stars and let me tell you, they are spectacular here. It's the ideal vacation home for families and friends. Close to everything you love about the north shore, but away from the crowded resorts.

Why the Owner Chose Lutsen
We go to the north shore as often as we can, sometimes several times a year. We finally decided owning a home "up north" made sense for us so we bought a vacation home in Lutsen. Of all the areas along the north shore, Lutsen has the most activities nearby making it a great place to go for an active vacation. We love to hike, snowshoe, golf and of course, watch the "big lake", all of which we can do within 1/2 a mile of our home.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our home is one of only 12 homes that share 20 acres, it's not part of a resort so it's quiet and private but still really close to everything we love to do in Lutsen. We appreciate being out on our screen porch or deck and seeing trees and the lake, not other buildings. What made us fall in love with it is the decor. The home was built in 2001 and decorated right after September 11th so the builder's professional decorators chose a red and white and blue color scheme, it's very colorful and so unique. When we say it's cute, it really is, people love staying here.

Enjoy 27 holes of spectacular golf right across Ski Hill Road. In the winter, the club house turns into a winter recreation center that offers dog sled, sleigh rides and beautiful snowshoe and cross
We are often asked how close our home is to the Lutsen Resort, it's right down Ski Hill Road and across Highway 61. We walk down to dinner or breakfast in their spectacular lakeside dining room.
You will notice construction along Highway 61, the bike path is coming! Soon you'll be able to ride bikes all the way to Cross River, a beautiful ride that will take you through Temperance River Park
That's a lake? If you didn't know better, you'd swear you were looking at the ocean! Walk down to the shore and be mesmerized by it's many moods.
Two miles further up the shore is a Mobil station that stocks basic grocery items.

If you have never tried snowshoeing, you don't know what you are missing! We are often the only people out on the trails and we can go anywhere we can hike, no need for a groomed trail. The beauty of the area is always there but there's something really special about seeing it all coated in snow. The bare trees allow for views you don't see in the summer. Strap on some snowshoes on your next winter trip and see for yourself, it's amazing!

Hi Jo, Took a week to catch up from our trip! Just wanted to thank you for the rental of your home…we had a thoroughly marvelous time. We did wind up on the same trail as the Sawtooth 100/50 and the Moose Mountain marathon and we just had to yell “Runner!” so we’d all get out of their way. Our favorite comment when they’d come by and we’d ask about their distance, they’d usually say “just” the marathon. Made us feel a bit like underachievers for hiking “just”9 miles that day. Your home was beautiful, and perfect for the six of us, we’re used to camping on our trips so it was SOOOO nice to come home to very comfortable beds. We’ll keep your place in mind if we decide to tackle more legs of the Superior Hiking Trail in the future. Thanks again, Kate Hardegger
