Vacationing by the lake is the consummate Door County experience. The waves will lull you to sleep and the ever-changing mood of the lake will become your favorite memory. Kite and sail surfers practice in our bay because of the calm conditions. All types of pleasure and fishing boats arrive and ore ships hug the shore as they pass.

The clean lines of the Empire style interior are accented by our collection of one-of-a-kind antiques from around the world. Each area has an access to the outside by way of a porch or balcony. Each room is cleverly designed to have a lake view.

The queen bedrooms are off the porch and deck on the main floor and upstairs in the whirlpool area. The standard bedrooms are off the garage and upstairs in the Carousel area. 3 bathrooms are attached to bedrooms; one in the upstairs Carousel area is not.

You are ten minutes away from thick and lively shopping traffic on the bay side. Our lake side is known as the quiet nature sanctuary of unique wild plants and animals. The beauty and calm has drawn the most talented actors and artists to this area since the early 1900's.

Children are delighted to play in the sand at the shallow water's edge, walk to the Yum Yum Tree for ice cream, rearrange the doll house, ride the wild carousel rabbit, play the unique folk toys, or other games. The kids collection of DVDs can be viewed as the prepare for bed. Ask for directions to The Farm where even older children like to purchase food for the hungry baby barnyard animals.

Our family of 9 spent the New Year weekend here and loved it! The view was spectacular, accommodations were as described, the only thing missing was snow! The rooms off the garage were "different", but for our needs, they worked out just fine. The home itself was nicely furnished, clean and very well maintained. We are considering trying this out in he warmer months as well! We enjoyed our stay very much.

This home is warm and comfortable. The view of Baileys Harbor is amazing and can be seen from just about every room in the house. The beach is accessible from the back yard. The home has everything you need from 2 full kitchens to the many bicycles in the garage. It's the perfect home for larger groups looking for a vacation home.

Owner response: We thank you for letting us know about our antique furniture and the remotes and we have taken care of the problems.

We enjoyed our 4-day stay at this large older home. There were nice commons areas, but also enough room for 12 people to spread out so that everyone could have privacy when they needed it. The porch has a beautiful view. There is a lot of interesting antique furniture, though some of it is wobbly. Plenty of TVs & DVD players, but too many remotes and unused (broken) equipment around. Rental process was well-organized. We had fun exploring nearby natural area (Toft Point).

There are two ways to experience beautiful Door County. You can rent a place on the Green Bay side of the peninsula, amid the hustle and bustle of tourists and attractions. Or you can put down temporary roots on the less touristy Lake Michigan coast. The Cedar Beach Inn in Bailey's Harbor is for the latter -- visitors who are seeking a more sedate, restful experience. (Yet you're still only 10-20 minutes away from the tourist meccas of Fish Creek, Sister Bay, Egg Harbor and Ephraim.) The Cedar Beach Inn is conveniently located at the center of Bailey's Harbor, a quaint, restful, historic seaside town. We found the inn to be clean and well-maintained, with rooms are full of antiques, folk toys, games and personality. The inn fronts on the protected bay that is just a few yards from the enclosed back porch. Watch the morning sunrise and then cross the street for coffee and pastries at the Yum Yum Cafe, where locals gather and share community news. The owners are Mary, who is very conscientious, and Ray, who is a hoot. They both wanted to make sure that our visit to the inn was perfect in every way. My wife and I stayed at the inn with two other couples. We commented on how much fun it would be to return with our grown children and grandchildren. I'm sure we will be back.

We stayed at Bailey's Harbor the weekend of Nov 2-4. It was a great experience. I loved sitting on the porch looking out at the bay -- beautiful & peaceful. It's a great place to use as home base to do some sight-seeing or to just hang out and relax with family/friends. Also loved walking across the street to have coffee with other visitors and locals. Everyone was quite friendly. The accommodations were great for a large group with great kitchen facilities to cook and save money, if you wish. Another reviewer mentioned the collections in the house. To me, this just made it feel more like home. We enjoyed looking at everything. We would definitely recommend Bailey's Harbor to friends (and have).

The Inn is quaint and has a spectacular view of the lake. However for a rental property is has way too many personal items of the owner all over the Inn. There are also typed sheets of paper hanging on the walls explaining what all the personal items are. The sheets and towels are very worn and raggedy and need replacing. All that aside, the Inn has 5 bedrooms, but 2 of the bedrooms are basically in the garage! The bedroom doors open into the garage, which is full of bikes, a lawnmower and 8 trash cans. Not an ideal location.

Owner response: Most of our guests have told us they appreciate and have enjoyed the laminated virtual tour and the history of the house as it relates to the town which dates back to 1846. Both are easily taken off and replaced on the entry way wall. Our guests use the 8 bicycles to tour the 4 miles of water front which includes a very rare 1853 bird cage lighthouse. There is a non garage access to the water view bedroom off of the deck and we are planning an addition that will also provide an access directly through the house. We provide each visiting group of guests with a set of floor plans to help them understand where proper access doors are located. We also offer a discount of $75 to those guests who choose to provide their own linens. We need the mulching lawn mower to cut the grass and the cans for garbage and recycling which are necessary to keep our green certification.

My family stayed here the first week of June,2012. It was wonderful. The home is beautiful and very comfortable. We rented the whole house and spent most of the mornings enjoying our coffee on the enclosed sun porch. The kitchens were well-equipped and there was a nice large dining room table to gather at. It was great having 4 bathrooms! The lower outdoor patio and the 2 upper balconies were very nice. Saw a few beautiful sunrises from them. I'm glad we stayed on the "quiet side" of Door County. Bailey's Harbor is a nice central location. Not far from anything. We had our last dinner at The Gordon Lodge just a little north of Bailey's Harbor. What a great place for dinner and watching the sunset.

This was my first stay at this amazing Beach House. We shared the house to celebrate three retirements and what a relaxing and beautiful place to celebrate. Every part of the house is interesting with all of the antique touches and decor. I stayed in the Carousel area of the house, and I wanted to permanently move into that area. It had its own well-equipped kitchen, large bathroom and sitting area and separate bedroom. The best part was listening to the water at night as I fell asleep and the beautiful view of the lake during the day. The house is located in walking distance to restaurants and shops. We visited them all. I highly recommend this gorgeous place, and I look forward to staying there again. The owner's description and posted pictures are perfect!

Owner response: The new sand placed on the nearby public beach has migrated down to us making our beach wider. A water sports rental business has moved to our village and is making powered and non powered water craft available to our patrons at a very affordable rate. The best coffee I have tasted anywhere is available just across the street. The Yum Yum Tree serves old timey ice cream treats and candy from around the world.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this house. There were 12 of us that traveled up for Thanksgiving last November and we not only enjoyed the beauty and comfort of this home, but loved the many different places within the home to hangout and relax. We also loved the many unique and beautiful items that fill this home. Every where you looked, there was something to engage you. As the chief cook for our group, I was particularly thankful for the two kitchens. However, I would give a warning about the upstairs oven - it runs hot so lower your temperature and keep an eye on whatever your baking! This was our first visit to Door Co. during the off season and I would highly recommend it. It was wonderfully peaceful and we loved walking into a quiet Al Johnson's where there was no wait and we could take our time enjoying our breakfast.

It was with trepidation I drove to Bailey's Harbor to spend 5 days and 4 nights with 14 relatives on my wife's side, not sure how we'd all fit into one house. The moment we entered the front door my fears were dispelled as there was more than enough room(s)to find solitude among the multitudes. We rented the entire house and were more than pleased. The grandson loved playing with the dollhouse upstairs and the wooden toys on the beautiful 4 season room facing the bay and harbor. The photographs of the interior do not reflect the true scope of the rooms. They are huge!!! with a lifetime of wooden caricatures throughout collected from around the globe. The rooms were very well furnished and comfortable. The only problem we had was getting the TV to work in the ground floor suite. Although everyone thought they could get a signal, no one was successful. I think a page of directions here would be helpful. The whirlpool in the master suite was, according to my grandson, the size of a swimming pool and easily accommodated three kids, none of whom had ever experienced the water jets. The two bedrooms off the garage, while a little small, were nicely furnished and comfortable. One has to walk about 40-50 yards or a 3 minute walk to get to the beach. The water is shallow enough you can walk out about 100 yards and still not get your shorts wet. We would definately recommend this beautiful home to friends. We also will certainly be back; with my relatives.........
