Why the Owner Chose Wrightsville Beach
Wrightsville Beach is two hours door to door from our home in Raleigh. We can sneak out of Raleigh around 4 pm on any Friday, and be in paradise at our cottage by six. Have dinner on the beach, as the sun is setting, almost year round as the climate is generally great. Then there's the Surf, some of the best conditions can come together around Wrightsville hidden gems to rival many of the best know breaks around the globe. The water is Caribbean more often than not, as Wrightsville is one of the few Northern facing beaches, and our coast line is constantly surrounded by only natural sea water, and not mixed with fresh waters from the rivers run-off. Our daughter was three years old before she ever experienced waters at other beaches besides Wrightsville crystal clear tide pools. We went for a family reunion, in our neighboring state. As she and I were sitting together in the tidal pools down south watching all our family run around, she quietly looked up at me and said daddy, is this coffee were sitting in! At that point, well actually way before, I knew Wrightsville Beach was even more special in ways it's difficult to tell. It's simply the experience one get when soaking up this quiet little Island we love so. So bring the snorkel, or simply stroll between our two lolli-pop bays, most all the waters around are Caribbean clear. Explore the full 3 miles of the island, with hidden jewels like our neighborhood With water views every way you turn on our special peninsula & connecting the lollipop bays. The Sumner Family is a family of four. We have two homes in North Raleigh, and one in Wrightsville Beach. We love and work in Raleigh, but our hearts look forward to getting down to Wrightsville! I've surfed all my life and still do at 50. We're active in soccer, tennis, mountain biking and education while in Raleigh, but once we hit the beach...it's all about the clear, blue-green Caribbean water in Wrightsville and everything it has to offer, only two hours away.

July 2008 We had a wonderful week staying in your lovely, spacious beach house. Our brother was married on the beach (access 4) and we enjoyed the week with a lot of family. Everyone enjoyed visiting with us here because we could spread out on your spacious porch. And we enjoyed panoramic fireworks on the roof-top on the 4th / Amazing! Thank you for our wonderful stay at your beautiful beach house. We tried the Portland Grill in Lumina Station and it was very good fine dining. We enjoyed this meal childless and the teens went to Tex Mex. We had a one year old with us and her mom loved your toy stash. Something for everyone. Enjoy August at the beach. What a blessing! 8-15-08 Sumner Family We cannot thank you enough for sharing your serene and spacious home with us. Our oldest son participated in Surfer’s Healing for autism, it was a magical experience. We took a ride to the NC Aquarium, took the ferry at Ft. Fisher. Our whole family played in the waves under the setting sun and full moon, enjoyed the warm breezes as we ate outside under the shade of the porch, and experienced the bliss of the sunrise over the ocean. 8-21-08 Dear Sumner Family Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful place. We had many fun adventures and met interesting people from all over the country. During my stay my daughter, Kristin was cast in a commercial and also in a local fashion show. Her boyfriend Trevor works at a restaurant downtown called Deluxe. Deluxe is the best restaurant in town, where I had Waggu Beef for the first time.We also found a lost hermit crab on the beach. Doc D & family New York, NY
