Awesome Summer or Winter home - great location!
This home was finished in December 2007 and sits on an elevated lot in town on Cache Creek drive with x-country and downhill skiing, hiking and mtn biking right down the street. The location is very convenient, close to downtown and an extensive trail system in National Forest. Getting to Grand Teton National Park couldn't be easier - just a few blocks from the road to the Park. There is a bus stop 3 blocks away where you can catch a bus to the Ski Resort's base or various locations in town.
The home is a dramatic, open, very comfortable house with balconies off each bedroom and large bathrooms. The kitchen is huge with great appliances - it is a pleasure to cook or just hang out in. There are views of the Grand Teton from the living room and master bedroom and the master bath has a walk-in steam shower. The living room is awesome with a huge, leather sectional couch and a great entertainment system with a 50-in plasma TV. There are 2 king beds, a queen bed, and two singles in the four bedrooms. Plus, if you need more beds there's a queen size futon couch as well as a comfy queen-sized air mattress that can be set up in the Rec Room downstairs.
The dining room can seat as many as 10 and there is a ping-pong table in the basement rec-room. The ceilings are 9+ feet throughout with bamboo floors, cherry doors, and lots of windows. In the back there is a giant (13' x 26') raised deck with outdoor seating and Grand Teton views.
This house can be rented with a separate apartment located in a lower level (the apartment has its own entrance, laundry, parking, etc) - the apartment is VRBO #299197. Please inquire if you need more space.
This is a very fun house to stay in - you won't want to leave!

The Unique Benefits at this House
The things I enjoy most about my house are its location and how comfortable it is.
The location is so convenient to trails - I can literally hike into National Forest from my front door. Plus, I'm close to downtown, restaurants, and the Center for the Arts so in the summer I can easily ride my bike to everything I want to do in Jackson. And when I want to spend a day at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, I can jump on a bus a couple blocks from my house that takes me right to the base area. If I want to visit Grand Teton National Park, its just a short, convenient drive from my house - I don't have to drive through the center of town at all.
When I'm at my house, I enjoy the tall ceilings (9+ feet!), the abundant windows (grand teton views!) and the big rooms. The kitchen is truly a delight to cook in and hang out in - plenty of room for all my friends while preparing meals. The living room is a great, comfy place to unwind, relax and share stories from the day's activities - with plenty of room for everyone to sit and stretch out.
I also really enjoy the downstairs room with the Ping Pong table - I love ping pong and have had some competitive, fun games with friends.
You can access over 100 miles of trails from this one trailhead. Mountain Biking, Hiking, Cross-country skiing abound. This is one of the main reasons I built my house where I did - I encourage you to
From this trailhead you can access trails for mountain biking (putt putt) and hiking (Woods Canyon and Crystal Butte). The hike onto Crystal Butte is especially nice - steep but worth the effort for g
Here you can catch buses to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and to downtown restaurants.
This road is a great place to walk in the winter if other trails are too snowy or icy. In the Summer, you can access several great hiking trails to Goodwin Lake and Jackson Peak among others.
Owner's Map of Jackson
I grew up in Alaska but have lived in the Lower 48 for most of my adult life. I moved to Jackson several years ago because the proximity to wilderness and the slower, more relaxed pace here. I love to spend time in the mountains and there are unlimited opportunities here from hiking, skiing, and mountain biking to climbing, fishing, and sightseeing.
I came to Jackson for the winters and skiing but have found that I'm as much a fan of summer and all the activities it offers. One thing I was surprised to find is that I enjoy the off-seasons (May and October/November) here so much. The town is quieter with more locals and not as many visitors and the weather can be excellent. It is a great time to catch up with friends and feel like you're living in a small mountain town in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Great location - close to town and to roads leading to parks. Photos were very accurate. The home was extremely clean and comfortable. Very tastefully decorated. Nice common space and great kitchen and appliances. I did have a couple of questions for the landlord and he answered promptly. The house was perfect for a family of four- two adults and two older children - enough space to be together as well as apart. Everyone loved the steam shower. It was a perfect location for doing everything we wanted to do - see the Tetons, Yellowstone, whitewater rafting and horsebacking riding. It was the perfect choice for us!
Owner response:Thanks Mary - glad you enjoyed it!

Two professional families and young adult children (total of 9) rented this home and the apartment on the lower level for a week in December, 2010. We were somewhat hesitant about renting this way, but it was a fabulous experience! The home was even nicer and cleaner than the pictures showed. Great kitchen and living areas, good very comfortable beds, plenty of baths, nice balconies, room for all, and a covered area to park. Very well located to Jackson, Jackson Hole, and Tetons, etc... we rented a car, but not really needed with bus service. Quiet area but can walk to town. Tim (owner) was very easy to work with and the was a very special place. We would definitly go back and rent this property again, and would also rent other properties from Tim. Steam shower was great and overall decor and views were super! Definitely would recommend this. Good value for what you get. Home is so nice it made you want to keep it that way. Hardwood floors, great lighting. We did the snowmobile tours to Yellowstone, skiied at Jackson Hole, skiied at Grand Targhee, shopped, hiked, and ate dinners in and out.

8 of us stayed here over New Years 2010. It was a beautiful home, wonderfully decorated. Convenient location to Jackson town. Great kitchen. Never ran out of water (even with all of us showering after the slopes!). My ONLY request would be for more dinner plates.
Owner response:Not sure if you noticed but there is a whole additional set of dinner plates, bowls, etc in the cabinets in the dining room. Usually plenty even for big groups. Thanks for the review!

We were looking for a comfortable, clean place in Jackson for a long ski weekend, and we found it! The house is warm and gorgeous and well-decorated, with plenty of room. There were five of us, but we easily could have fit more people as there were plenty of beds (as well as a big inflatable mattress). The whole house was very comfortable (slept incredibly well) with an amazing kitchen if you're planning on cooking at all. Great place if you want to prepare a big dinner for a number of folks! There's even a ping pong table downstairs if you're into that kind of thing. We didn't have any kids with us, but I can see how the house would well suit a family with children. The house is on the edge of town, which might not suit everyone, but for us, it was perfect. An easy drive both to the center of town and, of course, to Jackson Hole to ski (about 20 minutes), and it was nice to come home and have the steam shower upstairs! Great way to relax the muscles after a long day... The owner was very easy to deal with and made us feel at home by offering suggestions as to activities in Jackson. All in all, we were super happy to find this house for our vacation, and with any luck, we'll be back soon. You'd be hard-pressed to find a place this size that's better in Jackson... Thanks again!

We were very happy with this place. True to its description, it has a great location, just blocks from downtown Jackson. The house was clean and modern, complete with steam shower, nice kitchen and big plasma TV. A perfect place to unwind after a big day of skiing. Tim was prompt in all communications and a pleasure to deal with. I would stay there again for certain.

After looking at many cookie cutter condos for rent in the JH area, I happened onto HomeAway and found this home. Although it looked great on the web, and the owner answered every question quickly and thoroughly, I was still nervous when we arrived after a long day of travel. My extended family had left it up to me to plan this vacation so I had alot of expectations riding on my choice. Well, we could not have been more satisfied. The home was right out of Architectural Digest and every detail was spectacular. Not only was the home's design fabulous but it's location, the views, and every other aspect was perfect. We spent the week touring Yellowstone, the Tetons and the surrounding area but we all looked forward to just getting back to the home and relaxing. I could have spent the week just hanging out on the deck. Since there were 5 of us, it was nice to have the roominess of the home to spread out in. Everything needed was there, from a gas grill to a cork screw, everything was thought of. Some places to see: Elk Refuge, Teton Village (take the gondola up to the top), Yellowstone, Tetons. Places to eat: Nora's in Wilson for breakfast (great Huevos Rancheros), Jedediah's House of Sourdough, Cowboy Bar (not just a tourist spot), Iguana's Mexican (?) near the movie theater, Snake River Brewing (fantastic brews). In summary, great home, clean, great views, close to Town Square, quiet location, owner who cares about your stay. You could not do better than this property. My family loved every minute and we hated to leave. We will be back!!!!

We stayed here in Summer 2009 with our family of four and another family of 5 ...all with young kids. The house is very upscale design, with amazing views, roof deck and firepit that made it hard to want to go anywhere at night. Location is excellent; we were able to bike Elk Refuge and bike path, mountain bike Cache Creek/Putt Putt , and hike up Snow King every morning right from our door. We scootered to town for lunches and shopping. The bedding and decor is wonderful and the house is well maintained. The laundry room is huge plus for families. I would easily see this as a great retreat for several couples without kids or families with teenagers for skiing or summer as well. Best place we have rented; we would buy it if we could! And, having lived in Jackson for 5 years we can tell you that this is the best of in town market. julie
