Best Father's Day gift ever...buy Dad a gift of memories together at the Sunshine Ridge Guest House. We have had 8 years of experience of making our renters happy. Every year is better and better. See our reviews and compare. Also note that we don't have those sneaky cleaning fees or resort fees. Enjoy a relaxing time together, away from the hustle & bustle. Great for intimate weddings, book club retreats, yoga retreats, corporate retreats, mens golf outing, hiking groups and of course family reunions. Sit by the fire & play games with family or friends. Come relax & enjoy the great outdoors in an authentic mountain town. Glenwood is one of the last true mountain towns that still has the 'Old West' feel. Make Glenwood your home for a week or weekend & stay at a great mountain home with your family & friends. The house is a wonderful, warm & comfortable place. Very family friendly. The restaurants, shopping & conveniences of Glenwood Springs are just 5 miles away, but you will be hiding in remote 4 Mile Canyon. Our 40 acre property is part of a conservation easement protected by the Aspen Valley Land Trust. The house is within a 5 minute drive of Sunlight Mountain Ski Resort, White River National Forest, and unlimited recreational activities from white water rafting to mountain biking to world class fly fishing. Glenwood Hot Springs is only 10 min away as well as the Glenwood Caverns & Amusement Pk. Spring is one of our favorite times to enjoy Glenwood Springs because of the fabulous colors, great temperatures and the hot springs & caverns/adventure park are open year round. Of couse everyone loves summer because of the sunshine and so many outdoor activites. They also love winter because skiing at Sunlight is a blast. Please note: We NEVER accept wired funds & NO cashier's checks, for your safety and ours.
********What can I do in Glenwood Springs?
Glenwood Springs was just listed as one of the top seven ski towns in Rand McNally & USA Today's January 2012 issue of 'Best of the Road'.

Read what Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park Blogger, Mandy Gauldin, Public Relations guru has to say...
'There’s a reason Glenwood Springs was named the Most Fun Town in America by Rand McNally and USA Today. It really is fun, and that makes it a great destination for spring breakers. Whether you live on the Front Range and need a staycation, or are coming from out-of-state for your Colorado ski trip, we hope you’ll consider Glenwood Springs.
(Any time of the year) here’s a look at what you can do in Glenwood Springs:
*In the off-season, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park has smaller crowds than you’ll find here in the summer. Our Winter Fun Pass will still be available, and it’s an incredible deal. For just $31 per person, you get a round-trip ride on the Iron Mountain Tramway, or a bus in inclement weather, a 70-minute guided Cave Tour, and unlimited access to the Alpine Coaster, 4D Motion Theater and Laser Tag Arena. You can add lunch at the Lookout Grille.
*Ski or ride at one or more of the seven ski resorts located within an hour of Glenwood Springs, including Vail, Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Beaver Creek, Snowmass, Buttermilk and Sunlight Mountain Resort. That’s especially nice because the lodging in Glenwood Springs is significantly more affordable than in neighboring Aspen and Vail, and you are located right in the middle of these world-class resorts.
*Play and relax at the Glenwood Hot Springs, the world’s largest hot springs pool, which is well known for its healing mineral waters. Weather permitting, the pool’s two water slides will be open the last two weeks of March, which adds even more fun to your swim. The pool is open until 10 p.m. every night, so you can spend the day with us, and then relax in the pool afterwards.
*You can also laugh the night away at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue, get pampered at one of several spas in town, take a snowmobile tour, go snowshoeing or cross-country skiing, choose from an amazing variety of restaurants and go shopping. With more than 100 stores, Glenwood Springs is the largest retail shopping area between Denver and Grand Junction.'
Saving you money - cost comparison: The Sunshine Ridge Guest House Value Proposition
We’re committed to offering an exceptional vacation experience for our guests. This includes making sure you get your money’s worth! Here are some examples of what it costs to stay with us…….
•For a Party of 16, our nightly rates are anywhere from $44 -$63 per person, depending on the season. Also note that we don't add those sneaky fees that add up: no cleaning fees and no resort fees.
As you consider accommodations for your group, please compare our rates to your other options. Our per person prices are comparable to most hotels in the area, and Sunshine Ridge offers a huge, gourmet kitchen and great common areas for your group to gather. When comparing costs, also consider the money you will save by cooking instead of eating out. We’ve gone out of our way to insure you’ll have everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable vacation, at pricing that will make you wonder why you would ever go back to a hotel room.

As we drove up the driveway, my companions and I were immediately impressed with the beautiful “Sunshine Ridge Guest House” that sits on 40 mountainside acres. As we entered this wonderful home, our visit only got better. The warm entryway led us into the expansive gourmet kitchen and dining area which also housed a wonderful fireplace. On the opposite side of the fireplace was a sitting area featuring an additional fireplace, floor-to-ceiling windows and a large deck to show off the surrounding Glenwood Springs scenery. Every window that we looked out offered amazing views of the mountains, meadows, horses and wildlife.
This amazing home boasted seven bedrooms that were fabulously decorated and very inviting, as well as the large game room with a big screen TV and pool table. The large, professionally installed patio in the back featured plenty of furniture and a large grill. It was a great place to soak up the warm sun in the morning! We also had no problem parking four vehicles in the garage/driveway area with plenty of room to spare.
The seven bedrooms were located in the wings of the “Sunshine Ridge Guest House”. One upstairs wing included a master king bedroom and large master bathroom while the second upstairs wing included a king bedroom with a second bedroom that had a full sized bed and a twin bed. These two rooms shared a beautiful Jack-n-Jill bathroom. One downstairs wing featured a bedroom with a king bed with a bedroom that had two twin beds with another Jack-n-Jill bathroom connecting them. The second downstairs wing offered another king bedroom with another bathroom connecting it to a bedroom with a queen bed. When it was time to turn in for the night, we all felt cozy and warm given the abundant amounts of privacy the home’s floor plan provided.
My 15 companions and I enjoyed great family meals and conversation as we all sat together around the spacious dining room table. The large gourmet kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook any meal and allowed room for MORE than one cook. The recreation and game rooms downstairs were welcoming and well furnished. We watched football on the large screen TV and I beat everyone at several games of pool. The recreation room featured a futon couch and pull-out bed as an additional sleeping option. We also spent a lot of time outside hiking and exploring the beautiful acreage of conservation land around the Sunshine Ridge Guest House.
The “Sunshine Ridge Guest House” was conveniently located. It was only a 15-minute scenic drive to the house from the quaint shops in downtown Glenwood Springs, local restaurants, the Hot Springs Pool, and the Iron Mountain Tramway to the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.
A visit to this spectacular vacation home will not be a disappointment. Every moment you spend here will be a treasure trove of memories that will last a lifetime.

I completely agree with the other reviews that I had read on the site prior to booking the guest house. Pictures are not able to do this property justice. The well cared for house and its surroundings are dramatic. The floor plan works extremely well for families and other groups. The location feels private and secluded but the town is still close enough that we could easily do the things we wanted (and get the things we needed) without a lot of driving. We loved that house isn't visible at all from the road yet still offers incredible views. One practical suggestion, if you are driving in from Denver and are Costco members, consider making a stop at the Gypsum warehouse on the way. We were able to get much of what we needed for our large group in one quick trip. Glenwood Springs and the Roaring Fork Valley are hidden gems with all the natural beauty and year round recreation opportunities of other Colorado tourist areas but with far greater value. I highly recommend staying long enough to take in all that the guest house and surrounding attractions have to offer. I can't recommend enough the guest house, it's owners and their local hosts.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: We love your practical suggestion to stop at Costco in Gypsum on the way up from Denver. There are also 2 grocery stores in Glenwood Springs for last minute items, but Costso offers the best selection and price for large groups to cook meals at home in the great kitchen at the Sunshine Ridge Guest House.

What an amazing floorplan on an amazing lot with amazing views! Our family of 17 gathered here, from different parts of the country, for Thanksgiving of 2012. We were in love from the moment we walked in. The kitchen, especially at Thanksgiving, is the hub of any home and this gigantic kitchen, open to two different dining areas, was spectacular. All the girls could cook without running into each other while the guys were all downstairs enjoying the ball games on TV, pool table and I'm sure, lots of beer! The views are spectacular thus making our only regret being it was too cold to be outside on the expansive deck for long. Both the owners and the caretaker were awesome to work with. I highly recommend this home, especially for larger groups. It's fabulous!Owner response: Glad you were comfy with 17 people; we are happy you took advantage of the several large gathering areas inside and out for playing, relaxing & cooking together. We will be revamping the patio this spring, adding a covered area so you will be able to have shade in the summer and a dry place to sit in the winter. We hope you come back soon to enjoy the new-improved patio. Thanks for sharing!

We have just returned from our stay at this beautiful home. We have a group of 14 friends that take a weekend trip once a year. This house is by far our favorite, so we have returned the past 4 years. The owners are wonderful to work with and the caretaker is very helpful. The house is set up so that you never feel crowded, even in a large group. The huge kitchen and diningroom makes mealtime so easy and has all the cooking supplies you need. We love how the bedrooms are decorated and all have comfortable mattresses. The group has enjoyed playing pool and taking in the great view from the deck. This house feels very secluded, yet you are only minutes from town. We will be returning again and again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

Our group of 17's expectations were surpassed immediately when we arrived to this property. The ample amount of space and privacy (40+ acres) is unlike any cabin we have rented before. The scenery and surrounding area is beautiful, and the interior has all the necessities and more for any-sized party. The photos and the description do not do this property justice and the owners and staff were more than kind and helpful to myself and the other guests. The rates are outstanding and I could not give this guest house any higher praise. Great property.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.
Owner response: We are happy that you enjoyed the house and we wish you many happy memories from your visit. Thanks for coming. We hope you enjoyed skiing at Sunlight. Best wishes for a prosperous and healthy 2013!

We are a Collegiate Nordic Ski Team and we have now stayed at the Sunshine Ridge Guest House twice and we always try to reserve the house when we are there for our races. It is absolutely beautiful and extremely good sized for a large group. The kitchen is well stocked and has the best pots and utensils of any vacation rental we've rented. We routinely stay in vacation rentals and this is one of the best! There is plenty of space and great entertainment, pool, ping pong, air hockey, Tv's etc. One of the best things for us is the huge garage where we can wax our skis for the races. It's a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

"Sunshine Ridge Retreat" Sunshine Ridge Guest House works perfectly as a weekend retreat site for a group of 17 participants. The accommodations are quite spacious and offer sleeping options of all types for guests. The kitchen is generously stocked with dishes, flatware, glassware, utensils, and pots & pans of all types. The hillside setting is so scenic, it may lower productivity for those who are there to accomplish specified goals by the end of the weekend. Actually, the scenic view must have energized our group because, in the end, there was an extremely high level of goal completion. Both the owners and the caretakers were consistently helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Hoping to return for another event!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at your beautiful home. We had four families there and we were all so comfortable! You would have never known there were children in the house as they headed to the lower level each day after skiing and we didn't see them until it was time for dinner. The adults camped out in the awesome kitchen and had a great time! We rent homes from VRBO often but your home was by far the most accommodating. Having dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, Kleenex and hand soap in all of the bathrooms was a great surprise. We hope to continue the tradition we started this year again in future years. Thank you again for opening your beautiful home up to guests. There were so many kid-friendly things to keep the kids busy that the adults were able to enjoy the time as well. Hopefully we can get the house for the same week next year!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

What a wonderful time we have all had. The home is beautiful and the kitchen was great. 19 to dinner each night for fabulous meals ( 1 chef, one restaurant owner and lots of big cooks). The river rafting was great - great guides and fun. The ride up the caverns and all the fun up there was worth it. The little racer cars were fast. The 16 mile bike ride(down hill) and hanging lake hike in the middle was worth all the effort. The swimming pool is a must and the slides are fun. Love to come back again. We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen, loved cooking together - and had wonderful meals together! We ventured out to experience some fun activities-- hiking, fishing, rafting, horseback riding, gondola rides, hot springs, etc. Thanks for the perfect setting! About the owner: Our family lives in Colorado on the Front Range and we love to travel. Our favorite place to revisit is Glenwood Springs, for skiing, spring flowers, summer fun, fall leaf peeping and celebrating holidays with friends. We come to the house with many types of friends, too...yoga groups, kayak teams, CU engineering RA retreat groups, team building meetings for our other business, chefs cook-offs, weddings, and just relaxing with friends and family. Everyone we bring loves the house and the town of Glenwood Springs.
Why the Owner Chose Glenwood Springs:
We have rented homes around the country with our family and friends for many, many years. We visited Glenwood Springs and fell in love with the town. As soon as we walked into the Sunshine Ridge Guest House, we knew that it was a perfect place to be a 'Second Home' for all and decided to purchase it for a Vacation Rental Home. It is so warm, welcoming and family friendly inside. The floor plan is perfect for a large group because there are wings where you can hide for privacy, but many options in and outside for large gatherings. The views are stunning and therapeutic. The house is located in a quiet valley, but close to town, skiing and outdoor activities. Of course, there are great options for wildlife viewing and hiking on the property, too.
