Dauphin Island is truly a place like no other. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, you’ll feel the difference as soon as you step foot on the Island and take in a breath of fresh Gulf air. A historically significant location, Dauphin Island’s Historic Fort Gaines was active in the Civil War. The fort, now retired, stands guard overlooking Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.
Nowadays, Dauphin Island thrives upon its emphasis on low-key, family oriented vacations. Forget road congestion, water parks and outlet malls – the island doesn’t even have need for a traffic light. Instead, envision bike paths, walking trails, seven miles of white sandy beach and simplicity centered upon outdoor recreation and the environment.
Relax & enjoy the serenity of Dauphin Island. Our beach front condominium is located in the new 'Holiday Isle on the Beach' seven story condominium complex with a gorgeous view of the beach. Enjoy the beach, read a book on the balcony, watch the dolphins, find seashells in the sand or go out and explore the many activities that our island has to offer. Covered parking is available at our condo door. Our condo is located on the same floor as the social center and the fitness center. The Social Center is where you can hang out with family and friends, watch the big screen plasma TV, cook in the large kitchen, or just gaze at the pool, beach and water views. Elevators & stairs are located nearby to access the first floor lobby, the pools and sauna and the boardwalk to the beach. Our unit is professionally decorated with quality furniture and accessories for your enjoyment.
The Holiday Isle complex is gated and offers 24 hour patrolled security. There are 2 levels of covered parking. The tennis court is on the third floor with additional parking and a wonderful view of the Mobile Bay and the Bay Bridge. There are 2 pools. One is an outdoor pool that is half covered so you can sit and watch the kids in cool comfort. Or go to the other side of the pool and work on your tan! The outside pool is gated and controlled by an access gate. Exiting the access gate, you walk across the wooden boardwalk to the beach. The inside pool is great for rainy days and evening swims. The hot tub, sauna and steam room are located next to the indoor pool. The lobby is staffed from 9-5 every day and is professionally decorated and has a huge salt water aquarium as its focal point.
Take a long stroll on the white sand beach. Relax, read a good book and listen to the waves. Go antiquing in nearby towns. Wait until you see the crabs that scuttle around at night! Take a bucket and your flashlight and try to catch them! If you want to go out for dinner or entertainment, there are close restaurants and bars on the island. The restaurants, shopping and entertainment of Mobile, Alabama is less than 30 minutes away and the CASINOS await you in Biloxi, Mississippi. Zipping over to the Biloxi casinos takes approximately an hour. Gulf Shores, Alabama has a huge outlet mall and entertainment strip and it is just a car ferry ride away. Antiquing in the neighboring towns is another fun pastime.
Enjoy the golf course just a few minutes away, with its beach views. Go boating. Rent bikes and ride on the trails throughout the island and visit the Bird Sanctuary. Rentals are available for boats & fishing. Charter boats are available 15 minutes away at Pelican Reef Marina.
The Island is loaded with history such as Ft. Gaines, the Indian Shell Mounds, Ancient Oaks, The Shell Island Light House, & Middle Bay LightHouse. It is a great place to enjoy every holiday & local events. "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere" condo is lovely. All the furnishings and decorations are in excellent shape and lend themselves to a relaxing visit. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, utensils, cookware, including a large refrigerator which was great since we love to cook. The condo facilities offer wonderful pools, a weight room, grill, etc. The owner, Julie, was very attentive to our questions and provided comments on things to do to enhance our stay. I would suggest the condo facility lengthen the walkway from the condo to the beach/water so we don't have to cross the dunes and damage them.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

We had a wonderful time on our first trip to Dauphin Island! The condo was immaculate, the view is wonderful! We took our family of 5 for a long weekend and were pleased to find our accommodations just as described. Julie was even willing to be flexible with us about some last-minute changes to our scheduled trip! We enjoyed the pools (indoor is heated!), the beach (especially sand island), the estuarium, and the fort in our short stay. The Lighthouse Bakery has wonderful pastries and yummy crab omelets! The Bienville Grill has delicious smoked meat, and Island Rainbow had pizza and Stromboli that were mouthwatering! Also, the property management staff were very friendly. We would eagerly return to this wonderful vacation condo!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The condo and the beach were perfect! Plenty of room for the 6 of us. Everything was furnished well so we had no issues making meals...no last minute jaunts to the store. The only disappointments were what the island had to offer in restaurants. Many places were closed on Monday and/or Tuesday which sent us off the island for a meal. Great place for a great price! One of the best facilities and beach we've stayed. We even received a call from the owner to make sure everything was ok. Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. View was breathtaking, and the condo was very clean and comfortable. Appreciated the extra touches that made it feel like home. Great location and very quiet beach. Can't say enough good things about it. Loved our trip and would definitely stay here again. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation on the island for the month of February. There is something to be said about enjoying one's morning coffee on the balcony feeling the breeze and listening to the rolling waves of the gulf...so serene. The condo is lovely and the complex offers many amenities. Dauphin Island's location allows for sightseeing treks to cities of interest. Not only did we visit Mobile on numerous occasions, but also Pensacola, Biloxi, and New Orleans. Golf courses are abundant, a Tanger outlet mall is close by, and an outstanding seafood market is just down the street! On those days that we wanted to spend as an "island day", the Bird Sanctuary, Fort Gaines, and the Estuarium offered a welcomed change of pace. The beach is beautiful and you can walk for miles. You might even meet Harold the Heron who waits patiently with his fishermen friends for a feed of fish! There are a number of restaurants on the island and close by that treat you to great food and excellent Alabama hospitality. We were impressed with easy travel on #10 and #65 to reach additional shopping and dining areas. We cherished our time on Dauphin Island at Holiday Isle and reluctantly returned to the Canadian winter where we eagerly await the warmth of Spring!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.

If you are blessed enough to even know that Dauphin Island exists, you are blessed times two if you rent this condo while you stay on the Island! Very comfortable and tasteful decor, amazing views right on the beach, rushing sounds of the ocean fill the night, and mornings watching the sun rise on the balcony all make this a great vacation spot. I am a very, very fussy sleeper! I usually am unable to sleep well unless I am in my own bed, however, I slept very well in the comfortable master bed!! Holiday Isle is a fantastic resort! We appreciate the heated indoor pool as well as the little extras such as the ping pong table and the very nice workout room. This was our first visit to the Island. We felt like we were worlds away from the Midwest. I would love to buy my own condo at Holiday Isle, but until then I will happily rent from Neal and Julie. Thanks for this much needed island escape!! The only part that I am unhappy with is leaving. I just wanted to say thank you so much for providing such a beautiful place at a great price. We had an amazing, relaxing weekend. Exactly what we wanted to celebrate our January birthdays. A lot of condos have cheap, uncomfortable furniture and beds and are decorated with hideous bright colors. Everything from the fully stocked kitchen to the tasteful decor to the comfortable furniture made it as close to being like home as possible. Except with fantastic beach and sunset views! We look forward to renting from you again in the near future!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We loved this place! It was a perfect getaway for our family. The weather was perfect and the beach was full of all sorts of birds, dolphins (every morning), sting rays and lots of crabs. The condo was up to date and just beautiful. Am looking forward to visiting again in the near future. Dauphin Island is the best kept secret of the United States! A totally unspoiled beach without the commercialization of neon signs, pancake houses, putt putt golf courses and crowds and crowds of people. When you cross the bridge onto the island, you just breathe a huge sigh of relief and all anxiety fades away. Google 'Dauphin Island' and see all the great things about this island beach resort!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The view, especially at sunset, is my favorite part of our unit. Hearing the waves and feeling the ocean breeze is just mesmerizing. Walking the beach in the morning and hunting for crabs at night with my kids are my favorite activities. I enjoy the facilities at the complex as well. We are located on the best floor, the second floor, with covered parking and quick access to the fitness center and the social center which is also located on the same floor.
