The property manager lives close by and is very helpful - my kids were forever locking the keys in the house and she was always willing to come to our rescue - We loved the area and plan on going back next year - you must visit The Point which is very close and food is fantastic - Banana Azul is also only a short walk and a great place to have a drink and relax. Cant wait to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

More than we expected on our get away from the stress of everyday living. We wanted to escape the traffic and congestion and we did. We wanted casual attire and we enjoyed walking on the beach in our "jammies' with a cup of gooood coffee and freshly picked fruit. I painted and wrote while he did nothing but stare at the ocean from the upper deck. We just smiled at each other, nodded our heads in agreement that this was what we both needed desperately. Quiet time. Stillness. Warm sunshine. Many long walks taking in the unusual friendliness and smiles from occasional passer-bys. The slow movement of the sloths taught me a few lessons. Relax. Slow down. Enjoy.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We spent 8 days at Pedro's place. Susanna, the property manager, was great! She and her husband were very responsive to questions and helped us with selection of outfitters. The setting can't be beat. Being from Austin Texas, it was a little warm and AC would have been a nice amenity. To Peter, the owner, I would suggest having the toilets replaced, as we had to do a little maintenance with their use. We were handy so didn't mind. The property manager made up for any issues we came across. We rented the upstairs and downstairs and had plenty of room for our party of 4. Daily we walked to Banana Azul (a 12 minute walk down the beach), to have libations and the owner kindly let us use their pool and all amenities! The people are kind to tourist and to one another. One of my favorite things about Pedro's place was "Blackie"-the neighborhood dog. He stayed with us while we were there and was a great watch dog-gave us another level of comfort and made us feel at home, as we sure missed our dogs. Blackie, the Lab, helped my separation anxiety. :~)Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Glad you had such a great time Debbie! We are examining the toilets and do keep a handyman on-call at all times to address any issues.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to land in Puerto Viejo! The location was perfect and Pedro's Place is an amazing deal for the amenities it has (high speed internet, full kitchen, hammocks, boogie boards, gorgeous garden and view). We stayed upstairs which is perfect for a couple. If you are looking for comfort, great location, and an affordable spot down the beach from town you will be hard pressed to find something better than this! We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We thought we could not have stayed at any place with more conveniences than Casa Fiesta! Comfortable decore with all the amenities and location within easy walking distance to Jeffrey's Tavern (great guy and jerk chicken & beer), a small store and town. We enjoyed the beach, pool and screen porch for relaxing in any weather while watching the horses walk by. The grill and kitchen came in handy when we didn't want to eat out. The ac was great for really warm humid days and we were able to keep in touch with home and kids with the WIFI. Sue and Suzanna were extremely helpful and informative about the area and things to do. The only thing wrong was we didn't get to stay long enough. We will go back!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed at Pedros Place for the month of October, 2009. We loved it! The location was perfect: right on Playa Negra, just steps to a perfect beach with very few people. The house is wood which is pretty neat, screens on all windows keep the bugs out, and it stays very cool during the day. Unlike other houses we considered, Pedros Place has reliable high speed internet, phone, and cable TV. The wild horses are very gentle and really do graze on the lawn, sometimes six at a time. Very cool. The caretaker lives right down the street and is incredibly warm and friendly. She promptly responds to any questions or issues that come up. La Violeta is a well stocked quick mart just down the street. There are several hotels within walking distance that offer laundry service and buffet breakfast. The town of Puerto Viejo is great. Such a cool vibe and so many restaurant to chose from. We had a hard time trying all the places we wanted to eat at. We felt very safe in town and at Pedros Place. Overall, it was a great time, and we highly recommend it. We'll definitely be back next time we visit El Caribe.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 16/16
