Parsons Manor at Cedar Top becomes your private, pristine, and peaceful retreat, a five-acre country estate with three covered decks and a 180 degree view of the mountains. Parsons Manor is listed as a 2 bedroom but REALLY IS 3 BEDROOMS in that it boasts a very large separate enclosed room which includes a closet. Some have called it the BEST ROOM because of the views! Very private and you have your own private entrance, too.
We take great pleasure in eating breakfast on the East deck as the sun peeks up over the mountains, rising into a red sky. Lunch on the North deck yields forested views beyond the Garden House. But most breath taking of all is the spectacle of a glowing sunset behind “Bluff” at days end off the West deck.
For the ultimate in exhilarating experience, try the six-person hot tub in the middle of winter, with downy snow flakes gently falling all around in the quiet, still air. We like it when it is dark outside. These are memories you won’t soon forget.
You’ll be so pleased to be just two miles from the new Sevierville Events Center and all those everyday things you need like groceries, restaurants and drug stores. From Sevierville, you are just 10 minutes from Pigeon Forge and 12 minutes more to Gatlinburg. All along the way, you’ll find so much to see and do: theaters, outlet malls, specialty shops, Dollywood, and restaurants. Day trips over the mountains into North Carolina, Ashville, Biltmore Estate and more are very convenient. Closer by, Eagles Landing Golf course is right in our back yard. And did you know, National Geographic lists the Great Smokey Mountains as one of the top 5 vacation destinations?
Built by a craftsman from New England, the house has the feel of an English manor with its hand-crafted paneling, dark woodwork throughout and furnishings in the same style. The manor is perfect for weekend getaways, house hunting visits (for those of you who are thinking of moving to this area), or temporary lodging for relocated executives. Several guests have found it to be heaven-sent for a writer’s retreat.
You’ll find your preferred spot whether it is on one of the decks, warming up by one of the 2 fireplaces, listening to the indoor water fountain or your favorite music on the CD player, or walking the grounds—there is something for every one.
If you appreciate nature you will certainly enjoy the deer or the wild turkeys passing through the property. We take special delight at the wild birds that visit the feeders right outside the windows, and in the spring they can be seen nesting in the boxes throughout the property. It is a nature-lover’s haven.
You will find two impressive king beds at the Manor. If you are lucky to use the queen sofa bed (upscale and comfortable) you may have the best room in the house according to some of our guests. Though not a bedroom, you have your own closet, locking door and all the extraordinary views of the mountains. Extra sleeping space for close friends and family members is found with the two twin folding (and comfortable) beds.
When we found this property, it had been sorely neglected and abused, and it needed much work to bring it to its present condition. This husband and wife team has made numerous trips between Tampa and Cedar Top and spent many months of loving work to prepare it to be an experience for you to remember. No pets and no smoking please, and we believe well-behaved children are a treasure.
