If you answer yes to any of these questions, Grand View Chalet is the place for your stay. Our house sits at an elevation of about 3100 feet; the view is magnificent. Although high in the mountain, the drive is easy since we are in the Maggie Valley Golf Club, where the streets are paved. We recommend a four wheel drive if you rent during the winter season. If you enjoy playing golf, the chalet is only minutes away from the clubhouse and first green. When we say minutes away, we mean just down the hill! We even have two sets of golf clubs in the garage in case you have a guests who forgot their golf clubs. You can go for brisk long walks near our place; however, if you chose to drive some place close, one convenient place is Lake Junaluska. Lake Junaluska is just barely 4 miles away and a beautiful place where you can walk; it is about a two-mile walk, around the lake and at the same time enjoy the ducks and swans, beautiful roses during the spring and the fantastic scenery, especially during the fall. Of course, Maggie Valley is close to many other places where you can drive to appreciate a good hike, not to mention beautiful waterfalls. If you like photography, many of these places will offer an array of vistas to make anyone envy! Our deck is very private and amongst trees where reading, cooking and enjoying the stars on a clear night is lifting to your state of mind. In addition, if you are a writer, our loft and third bedroom is the perfect place to be inspired. When you sit at the desk and you are viewing the mountains, you will be compelled to write your next book. However you chose to celebrate your vacation, you will find that Grand View Chalet and the surrounding area has something for everyone. After a day of playing golf, hiking, taking the family to all the fun places or driving around, you can enjoy the evening in the hot tub. Our hot tub is on the screen porch, so you will be enjoying the outside noises of the creatures of the night and the rustle of the trees. This is a perfect way to end your evening!
NOTE:
Our house is close to grocery stores, places of worship, the hospital, great restaurants, and fun places such as the famous Ghost Town and/or something for the whole family to do. Cataloochee Sky area is just minutes away, available during winter. Waynesville, a quaint town 5 miles away, has great cultural events, restaurants, shopping, and is a great place to visit. Ashville is 25 minutes away; if you have not been to the Biltmore House, this is a great opportunity for you to visit this great estate. Ashville is a wonderful place to go, with lots to do. In addition, if you enjoy games of chance, the Cherokee Casino is about 25 minutes away. Did you know that Maggie Valley had so much to offer? Then again, if you want to relax, you do not have to go anywhere. Our place offers an elixir of relaxation with many amenities to feel “just at home.” |
