If your answer is yes to any of these questions, Grand View Chalet is the place. At an elevation of 3100 feet, the view is magnificent (four wheel vehicles recommended for winter driving). Relax on a tree-shaded deck with a day of lazy reading, a soak in the hot tub or a night under the stars. However you chose to celebrate your vacation, you will find that Grand View Chalet and the surrounding area has something for everyone. After a day of playing golf, hiking, taking the family to all the fun places or driving around, you can complete the evening in the hot tub.
Grand View Chalet: minutes away from the Maggie Valley Club clubhouse and first tee, nice walks, hikes, waterfalls, Lake Junaluska, great restaurants, White Water Rafting, Fantasy Golf, and Cataloochee Ski Resort among many other attractions. Also, close to grocery stores, places of worship and the hospital. Waynesville, a quaint town 5 miles away, has great cultural events, restaurants, shopping, and is a great place to visit. Owner's Map of Maggie Valley
Grand View Chalet is owned by Kitty and Paul. It’s the only rental/vacation home they own and manage. They purchased it about 4 years ago after retiring to North Carolina. They became familiar with Maggie Valley when some of their children attended college in the area. At one time they planned to retire to Waynesville, which is very near Maggie Valley, but circumstances drew them to another part of North Carolina. They choose Grand View Chalet for its private setting and wonderful view and the fact it is close to shopping, good restaurants, skiing, hiking trails, and many areas of interest such as Ashville and the Smoky Mountains. After purchasing the house they remodeled and refurnished most of the house inside and out. This included new flooring and rugs, painting inside and out, repaving the parking area and installing a new hot tub. They love to spend time there when they can and managing it keeps them busy when added to the many other activities of retirement.

We met another couple halfway at this fabulous cabin and had a fantastic time! The cabin was very comfortable, had a very stocked kitchen and everything you could possibly need, including games and coloring books! We brought both of the dogs, and they had a fantastic time hanging out on the deck with us looking at the beautiful surrounding views! Paul and Kitty could not have been more accommodating!

We went up for a long weekend and were so glad we chose this property. It was so organized, so cozy and so private. We could not have asked for a better place. We loved the hot tub! We will be returning again next year, if not sooner. The owners were wonderful to us and made sure we had everything we needed for the weekend. We had warm weather in the day, but the fires at night made us feel at home. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the view from the beautiful porch. It was great.

Our Christmas vacation at the Grand View Chalet was amazing. This beautiful home looks just like the pictures and more. It is warm and cozy on the inside and grand and majestic on the outside. The home was very clean and decorated perfectly. Dining, groceries, and attractions such as skiing and tubing are all a very short drive away. The drive to Biltmore is very easy and only about 50 minutes. We were snowed in for about a day and half and Paul and Kitty were most helpful. I called several times and they were always very nice. Our son and dog enjoyed playing in the snow in the spacious yard and driveway. If travelling in the winter I highly recommend a 4-wheel drive or snow chains as the driveway is very steep. I would, and already have recomended this property to a friend as I feel it is the only way to stay in Maggie Valley. Kathy, Keith, Michael and Cayenne

We stayed at Grand View Chalet in Feb. 2010 with another family - total of 4 adults, 4 kids. We had a great time skiing, then playing and relaxing at the Chalet. It was very clean and comfortable, plenty of room. The hot tub worked great and we made great use of the kitchen. I looked to book again this year, but it is already taken for the dates we are looking for.

My husband & I stayed at the Grand View Chalet Oct.24, 2010 to Oct. 29,2010. The chalet was very clean & all photos on-line were exactly what we found. This home is very comfortable and the views are outstanding. Very relaxing. The chalet is easy to find and is conveniently located in Maggie Valley. Working with the owners was very pleasant and timely. We had no problems. I would recommend this home to my family and friends. I will be booking another vacation at this mountain chalet. The colors were beautiful. Pleanty of restaurants on the main road. Ate in most of the time but we did eat at the Maggie Valley Family Restaurant-the best breakfast in town. Only a short drive to Cherokee.

Our stay at this property (Grand View Chalet) was everything we hoped it would be. The chalet was in beautiful condition with every comfort and convenience you could want. The view was exactly as shown in the pictures on the web site - absolutely wonderful! The owners of the chalet were always available for any questions and were very friendly and reliable. We even received our deposit almost before we arrived home!! We would recommend this property to anyone and hope to return!
