    • The majestic hills of WV that surround this gorgeous and peaceful country retreat seem to whisper to visitors that the time to relax and unwind has arrived. If at first I didn't hear it as I entered the 43 acres after transitioning from the busyness of my normally hectic NJ lifestyle, it was only a matter of time. The sounds of the seasons, the beautiful colors of the trees, the timeless quality of the grounds and rustic home---all seemed to speak directly to me, imploring me to just enjoy myself while savoring each moment of peaceful relaxation away from work (and traffic!). Those who choose like I did to spend some time alone here in quiet reflection will find an immediate companion in nature---and friendly neighbors are never far away (and even shared with me some delicious homemade pie and juice!). The summertime when I went was full of life and energy. I ate healthy foods. I slept soundly. I was able to rest. I was able to "pass the time" sitting on the porch drinking tea. Who gets to "pass the time" in quiet with a smile on their faces these days? It seems it is those who take the time to do it. Families will build lasting memories of time spent together---talking, sharing, roaming freely the open land, hiking, reading, bird watching, counting deer. When given the opportunity to just enjoy time alone or time together, the cherished moments will seem to last forever. I'm looking forward to returning in the fall to see the changing of the leaves! Any questions at all, call Pat. She is so friendly! She really helped me to visualize my stay. You can tell from speaking with her that she truly wants this land and this retreat to be enjoyed by those seeking to enjoy and appreciate the simple things in life. Thanks Pat! Jennie S.
