We have an EXCEPTIONAL stay at South Plateau Cabin. We were there for 4 days/3 nights. It is a great 3 bedroom/2 bath cabin. Best of all, it is equipped with everything you could possibly need. All the cooking supplies, linens, gas grill, TV, toiletries, etc. etc. etc. There is a nice front porch to enjoy the evening on. The beds and linens are all in great shape. The house was spotless and clean. It is a lovely cabin and it immediately feels like home. You are literally 2 minutes from the entrance to Yellowstone. Best of all, you can save a ton of money by eating in. This cabin has everything you need to cook: gas grill, blender, toaster, crock pot, oven, microwave, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, plates, dishes, pots, pans, utensils. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The owner is also exceptionally nice and goes the extra mile to provide whatever you may need.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely log cabin. Spotlessly clean when we arrived, stunning architectural features in the main room and loft, comfy beds, convenient bathrooms and kitchen. WiFi was great too. Note that this cabin is in town, so the surroundings are not woods but nearby trailers and houses, but we wanted that, since it has the advantage of making it walking distance (.5 miles) to restaurants and grocery. It's also right on the edge of Yellowstone Park, just a mile to the entrance, really convenient. Coming back to this cabin after a long day out in Yellowstone Park was always a pleasure. Great stay overall.

My family and I stayed at the South Plateau Cabin July 18 to the 21st, 2011. We really enjoyed our stay there. The photos were very accurate the property was clean and nice and well maintained. Justin was a very nice host and very helpful and answered all our questions. We had a nice time in Yellowstone park and went to the local rodeo which was a lot of fun. It was a nice quite and relaxing stay. I would definetly recommend this cute cabin to a friend or family members.

Very accurate description. Perfect location, off-street parking, and wireless Internet access. We had excellent communication with Justin about the reservation, on the arrival day and during our stay. We had to move to another residence because the cabin was booked for the rest of the stay, but we wish that we can stay for more nights! Thanks!

I stayed at South Plateau Cabin during the first week of summer, with my two sisters and my mom. The cabin description and photos are accurate. The location of the cabin is very convenient, being right in town, near stores and restaurants. The West Entrance to Yellowstone is so close, you could walk to it if you wanted. I have stayed at lodging inside the park before, because it seemed that I would not like to do all of the driving that was required if one stays outside of the park. I found that staying outside of the park is quite pleasant and convenient. I loved having a wide variety of restaurants and shops available to me, and I didn't mind the drive into the park each day. The road from the West Entrance to the Grand Loop is flanked by beautiful mountains, a river, and cliffs, and there are many opportunities for wildlife viewing. One day, my group decided not to go into the park, so we visited the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone and also went for a drive to Hebgen and Quake Lake. Both activities were very enjoyable, and it was on the Hebgen Lake Drive that we saw bald eagles, pronghorns and a wolf. The South Plateau Cabin was very clean and well-maintained. Justin Gale was very helpful from the time of my first inquiry to the time of checkout. He's very welcoming and easy to work with. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a clean, spacious, and comfortable place to stay with a group of 4 to 7 people while visiting Yellowstone National Park.

Justin is very accomodating with our requests. He even provided us rice cookers and a blender for a special dietary needs!! The place is super nice just shown as in the pictures. The location couldn't be better and is within easy access to old faithful and all other park locations. We had a wonderful stay in the house with a big party of 7 people. So close to nature yet so we felt so comfy in the cabin after a long at the park. Highly recommended.

My husband spent a good amount of time looking for places to stay while vacationing in West Yellowstone and he found the absolute perfect cabin ever (we are actually going to try and mirror it when we build our cabin). The pictures were right on target but actually being in the cabin was a feeling a picture could not have portrayed. The cabin was clean, laid out well, soft towels, and lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. The wood was ready to start a fire in the gorgeous fireplace, (and he always had more wood for the next day) a great kitchen for cooking, a nice table for games after dinner, and he was kind enough to have a clean gas grill for our use. Justin was more than helpful, he was kind enough to spend some time with us and very knowledgeable on places to go and see, not to mention his dog, Marley was a treat to have visit as well (we missed our dogs at home). When we talk about our trip to others, we recommend this cabin without hesitation. If we make the trip again, without a doubt, we will stay at the South Plateau Cabin again. Thanks Justin for the perfect place to end our perfect days in West Yellowstone. Go Packers!

We were in yellowstone in the last week of sep and our stayhere was very pleasant. We visited with m parents and my lil one who is 2. The house was big enough for all of us wih a spare bedroom which we did not use. The parks west entrance was a 5 min drive and hence very comfortable for a quick drive. Also the house is located in the town o west yellowstone so all the stores wre at a walking distance which is really helpfull when travelling with a baby. All in all a very good experience and we would lve to go and stay back.

My family of four is very glad to have picked South Plateau Cabin for our three-night stay in West Yellowstone (August 2010). The house is very nicely furnished and decorated, with an appealing blend of western rusticity and stylish comfort. Everything felt clean and new. Linens were so comfortable I'm Googling the brand of towels to buy for home. Kitchen was perfectly stocked for making simple meals -- which we would have done more if we hadn't discovered the terrific Running Bear Pancake House just one block away. The cabin is in a quiet but rather charmless end of town, but that's okay -- you want pretty scenery, head to Yellowstone (minutes to the entrance). Overall this was a great stay, and if we're lucky enough to return to the area we would definitely stay at South Plateau Cabin again.

Literally in the heart of downtown yellowstone! Convenient to groceries, downtown shops, and just down the road from the park entrance. Host is exceptionally acoomodating and friendly. Better than a hotel. Included: toiletries, pots, pans & even a gas grill with picnic table out back! Are already planning to stay again during winter months for snowmobiling in and out of property! Can't say enough! Exceptional!!
Owner response:Sherri and family were great. Absolutely hassle-free and very nice to the house. I love talking with people who are excited about the area. Its easy to forget how great living up in Yellowstone country is and its nice to be reminded of that with appreciative houseguests.

Very well appointed and super clean. Convenient location to the park and local stores. Comfortable for our family to relax after a day at Yellowstone. Log cabin decor is unique, craftsmanship excellent. Books about the park were very helpful. Thank you, made our vacation extra special.
Owner response:I was so pleased to meet Dorian and her family. She had such nice things to say especially to my two visiting parents who put in such hard work themselves into the house. Finally, the words "super clean" mean a lot. I like to think I scrubbed really hard for those words. It is truly appreciated.

We had 3 adults and 2 kids in this cabin, and it was great for all of us. The beds are comfortable and the porch is a wonderful place to relax and watch the thunderstorms go by in the afternoon. Justin was a great host. I'd return in a heartbeat.

We stayed in the cabin for three days in mid-August & it was fantastic! For the price of a non-descript motel room, we got an adorable home with a full kitchen, satellite TV and two bathrooms! It was just the two of us, but the cabin could easily accomodate a family. The location is perfect -- just a few blocks from downtown West and the park entrance. In addition, the owner - Justin - is a gem! He has done a wonderful job renovating the cabin & can fix just about anything (including rental car boo-boos). If we ever go back to Yellowstone, I would definitely stay here again (or in the cabin next door that Justin is currently renovating).

We were a party of 7 and stayed at this cabin during the Memorial day weekend of 2008. This place was great, was perfect for our party. Justin, the owner of the place, was very cordial and made us feel at home during our stay there. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting Yellowstone National Park.

We spent Christmas 2007 in this newly remodeled cabin. It was originally built in the 1930's. It is absolutely perfect. A real wood-burning fireplace, beautiful refinished woodflooring, stainless steel kitchen appliances, huge flat-screen plasma tv, new furnishings, rugs, etc. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed to make our stay perfect. There is a master bedroom downstairs with a king bed, another downstairs bedroom with a gueen and twin beds upstairs in the loft. It was perfect for our family of five. There are two baths, both downstairs. Central heat that kept us cozy while outside temperatures were as low as -14F. Justin, the owner, worked with us in everyway to make our stay wonderful. He is the nicest, friendliest, most helpful person you could ever meet. Justin has taken the past few years restoring this wonderful original log cabin into the perfect mountain vacation spot. His craftsmanship and pride of ownership show throughout. We were also delighted to have Justin's dog Marley greet us whenever we returned from snowmobiling. We are already making plans to return to this winter mountain cabin next season.
