South View Beach - Los Barriles, Mexico Vacation House Welcome to our home in Baja! We are located on the Sea of Cortez in the peaceful village of El Cardonal, about 20 minutes north of Los Barriles and 1 ½ hours from Los Cabos airport. The property is about 2 acres, fully enclosed, and very private. Much of the lush native vegetation has been untouched. There are 2 dwellings: the Casa with 2 bedrooms, study, living and dining areas; and the Bodega which has a 2 bedroom apartment on the second floor. The Casa and Bodega are furnished with hand made rugs, lamps, folk art, and furniture from Mexico and beyond. Each dwelling has a terrace that was designed to flow directly out from the living area and is the perfect place to enjoy your coffee with the sunrise. We also have sombras made of palo de arco that provide shade for both the Bodega and Casa and allow you to enjoy being in Baja's natural beauty without sunburn. There is a mosaic pool, outdoor kitchen, and barbeque area as well. The gourmet kitchen in the Casa makes entertaining a pleasure. Our spa offers a relaxing way to end the evening. We provide kayaks for those that are interested in exploring the coral reef at our back door. We also have a beautiful sandy beach that extends from our property south for miles. You can windsurf or kite in front of the house with your own equipment or rent it down in Los Barriles. Luis, our caretaker, is able to hook you up with all kinds of other activities like fishing, site seeing, horseback riding, and transportation. Luis' wife, Adriana, is an excellent housekeeper and cook if you need additional services. Bahia de Los Suenos is about a half hour boat ride north and makes for a great day trip if the weather is calm. Other worthwhile trips include: Cabo Pulmo (diving), Todos Santos (mission town on the Pacific side), La Paz (Malecon), and San Jose's Centro Historico. The pool, art, and abundance of spiny cacti make our property unsuitable for young children. Well behaved pets will be considered. No smoking. Refundable deposit required.
