Welcome to our home in Baja! We are located on the Sea of Cortez in the peaceful village of El Cardonal, about 30 minutes north of Los Barriles and 1 ½ hours from Los Cabos airport.
The property is about 2 acres, fully enclosed, and very private. Much of the lush native vegetation has been untouched. There are 2 dwellings: the Casa with 2 bedroom suites, study, living and dining areas; and the Bodega which has a 2 bedroom apartment on the second floor. The Casa and Bodega are furnished with hand made rugs, lamps, folk art, and furniture from Mexico and beyond. Each dwelling has a terrace that was designed to flow directly out from the living area and is the perfect place to enjoy your coffee with the sunrise. There is a lap pool, outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower, and barbeque area as well. The gourmet kitchen in the Casa makes entertaining a pleasure. Our spa offers a relaxing way to end the evening.
We provide kayaks and a paddle board for those that are interested in exploring the coral reef at our back door. We also have a beautiful sandy beach that extends from our property south for miles. You can windsurf or kite in front of the house with your own equipment or rent it down in Los Barriles. Luis, our caretaker, can hook you up with all kinds of other activities like fishing, site seeing, horseback riding, ATV rentals, and airport transportation. Housekeeping and cooking services are available as well.
Bahia de Los Suenos is about a half hour boat ride north and makes for a great day trip if the weather is calm. Other worthwhile trips include: Cabo Pulmo (diving), Todos Santos (mission town on the Pacific side), La Paz (Malecon), and San Jose's Centro Historico.
The pool, art, and abundance of spiny cacti make our property unsuitable for young children. Well behaved pets will be considered. No smoking. Refundable deposit required.

Property is very comfortable with above average amenities and furnishings. Large and well appointed kitchen. laundry room, fireplace, TV/game room, 20 meter swimming pool, awesome bar-b-q and very large outdoor patios and decks. Landscaping is also very nice. We enjoyed kayaking and fishing in addition to some spectacular sun rises. Additional patio furniture would be welcome. And we found the property to be more isolated than expected resulting in limited opportunities for dining or purchasing needed food. Owner was a pleasure to work with.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Larry, thank you for the feedback so we can be even more clear with future newcomers! Yes, we are removed from it all in El Cardonal. It is why we chose property and why most guests seek us out. Info on web page and in owner info package is accurate and should be considered before booking. Currently in El Cardonal, we have a couple of local taco stands, a cantina, a few tienditas (that sell basics like milk, beer, eggs), a tortilleria, and a water purification plant. There are catering services available too. Beyond this, there is a very good grocery store and variety of restaurants located in Los Barriles, about a half hour south of El Cardonal. It should also be noted that this is a below market private rental priced for guests who specifically seek us out for the amenities we can provide and who understand the risks involved in renting a private home a bit removed from the well beaten path.

This property is awesome, even better than photos. My wife and I stayed from a week in June and loved it. It was our first vacation without kids and we were looking for something on the water,quiet and very private. El Cardonal is a quaint Mexican beach village on the far East Cape. It is real baja. Casa Tres Hijas is a great property, we stayed in the bodega since it was just the two of us , but we had the run of the place. Both the casa and the bodega are very nice and well appointed especially when you consider how far out it is. We had a great time laying by the pool,swimming, kayaking, going on beach walks. The entire property is very private yet has awesome views of the Sea of Cortez and mountains. It is about 25 feet down steps to the beach. There were two kayaks on the beach that we would take out to a reef about 50 yards away, clear water and lots of fish. We spent most of our time on the beach or around the pool. There is an outdoor shower,outdoor kitchen, chairs,tables, shade everthing you need to relax and enjoy. If you want a nice beach vacation,quiet without the sound of waverunners or vendors trying to sell things and a beautiful place to enjoy baja, this is it. We saw maybe 3 people on the beach the whole week. This was perfect for what wanted from this vacation. Luis the caretaker was very helpful and Adriana (a local cook) provided us with excellent meals delivered poolside! There is one resturant and a couple taco stands in town if you want to go out, but go elsewhere if you are looking for nightlife! The coral reef out our back door is more pristine than Cabo Pulmo's and has none of the crowds. Whales, manta rays, and dolphins are frequently seen locally. Fishing boats still go out daily from our beach. Walk to town for tortillas, groceries, or tacos in the evenings.
