We have just completed the expansion of Mingo Lodge. We can now accomodate up to 18 guests and offer additional amenities such as pool, shuffelboard, darts and a new 47" high definition TV and entertainment system. It is the perfect place for family reunions or large group outings. But the greatest new offering is our golf package for the Raven Golf Course. For the first time when your stay at Mingo Lodge you will be able to enjoy four rounds of golf evrey day at the fabulous Raven at no additional cost. Your savings on greens fees will pay for your stay. If you plan to play golf at Snowshoe you've got to stay at Mingo Lodge. If your group is larger than four we can also offer some very attractive discounted passes.
We are located in Mingo, West Virginia just 4 miles from the entrance to the Snowshoe Ski Resort, just a short 17 minute drive to skiing at the top of the mountain or 7 minutes to the Raven golf course. Our house provides all the amenities to make your winter or golf vacation a memorable experience. What more could you ask for? Comfortable acommadations, great location, wonderful views, privacy, high-speed wireless internet service, a 47" high definition TV,a pool table, shuffleboard, darts and yes that essential hot tub. You won't have to worry about getting stuck in a tacky, threadbare property- EVERYTHING IS NEW AND CLEAN!
Mingo Cabin is nestled in a 71 acre, wooded parcel located along Route 219. Access to the property is easy and ample parking is available. While many guests will be interested in the downhill skiing offered by Snowshoe, true outdoor types will enjoy the opportunity to explore our 71 acres. An old logging road has been upgraded to provide access to the entire property. It is well suited for ski mobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Hunters will enjoy pursuing their favorite game which abounds on the property.
The house which was completed in early December 2007 offers a modern, open floor plan, all new appliances and all the finishing touches one associates with quality new construction. The large master suite has a king-size bed and comfortable couch, a great place to retreat to with a book if you happen to get snowed in. It is served by two bathrooms, one containing a large soaking tub and the other by a separate stall shower. The remaining two bedrooms are fitted with queen-size beds and have convenient access to a third bathroom. Luxurious linens, thick cotton towels, essential toiletries are provided. All bedrooms have their own walk-in closets.
If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is a chef's dream and is perfect for the creation of memorable culinary experiences. It is well stocked with quality cookware, utensils and some basic staples for your convenience. The large living room contains two leather couches, a perfect place for a relaxed evening viewing sporting events or videos on the high-definition TV or just socializing with old friends or family. The formal dining area is located next to the kitchen and seats 8. Knowing how important it is for people to maintain contact with the outside world during their winter retreat , we happy to be able to provide high-speed wireless internet access throughout the entire house.
The lower level which was completed in the summer of 2009 provides an additional 3 bedrooms, 1 bath and a small kitchen. The rec area is located on this level which includes the pool table, shuffelboard, dart area and 47" high definition TV. If you have a smaller group you can choose to rent either level. If you want to cook your own meals and want more privacy you probably would prefer the upper level. But if you just want some pizza or microwave food and enjoy the rec area you would probably like the lower level better.
Can a West Virginia mountain retreat be complete without a hot tub? Absolutely not! What isn't better than sipping your favorite adult beverage or smoking a fine cigar in a warm hot tub on a clear night in the West Virginia mountains? Come to Mingo Lodge and rediscover the stars.
