Serenity in Taos
Serenity in Taos
This Casita is a quiet, comfortable, get-away from it all. It less than 10 minutes from the busy plaza of Taos and well worth the short drive. You can't ask for better views or a more relaxing stay. The guesthouse is tastefully decorated, has Wi-Fi and satellite TV. After watching the gorgeous sunset from the lovely hot-tub, it was the perfect place to rest for the night.! The owners Maggie & Mary are the nicest most helpful people you could imagine. My luggage was lost by the airlines and when I found out it was being delivered to us out there, Mary offered to wait at the house for it for me so we could enjoy our sightseeing.! A word of caution, this property is out in the country, you can see the stars, snow capped mountains and beautiful balloons over the land, if you don't want to be surrounding by nature and beauty, then try someplace else; but I have to say that this place shouldn't be missed.!!!

This was our 3rd stay with the owners and it is still the best place for us. It's out of town with mountain views and mesa views giving us great sunsets. The owners are close, attentive to our needs and very responsive. If you want to "get away from it all" but be close to fine dining and nightlife, this is your spot.

Pleasant, cozy, and inviting!
Pleasant, cozy, and inviting!
So, the wife and I needed to do some reconnecting, as I've been away on military duties for most of our marriage. We decided to do some kayaking/rafting in the local area, and opted to look for a place to relax in once we were done. Let me tell you, this guesthouse is amazing! It has just about everything you would need to forgo ever renting a room at a hotel. There was a queen sized bed, a flatscreen (with cable!), the kitchen was stocked with all the utilities you would have disposable at your own place, a full size refrigerator, a cozy little hot tub... picturesque view of the mountains... I met Maggie, (go 'Noles!) was charming. She offered a hand in whatever my wife and I would need, and was pleasant. Not intrusive in the least. There were no surprises, and everything was upfront. The artwork was very tasteful, and added to the interior decoration's taste. In all we enjoyed our time there, and would do it again when in town. Thanks for everything!

This place is special!
This place is special!
My partner and I have rented a lot of VRBOs, and this is by far one of the coolest places we've found. I hardly know where to begin! Mary and Maggie were fast and responsive and incredibly friendly. We ran into Maggie after our first night's stay and we could have talked to her all morning, she had so much information about Taos and birding and hikes and was just such a pleasure to talk to. The casita itself is light and breezy and filled with beautiful art. The kitchen has everything you'll need, the bed is comfortable, blah blah blah. The real reason we loved this place so much is the location. It's close enough to town that you'll not be far from all that Taos has to offer, but far enough away to give you some bonafide solace from noise and traffic and people. The patio looks out onto the great expanse of the Taos Plateau, where you can watch sunsets and clouds building on the horizon and jackrabbits mingling with cottontails and Western tanagers chatting away with house finches and quails and darting lizards. If you get cold you can just dip into the hot tub and continue your patio sojourn, watching the hot air balloons in ascending and descending like inverted drops of pure color over the Rio Grande Gorge. After daylight makes its exit you can watch the stars spin overhead, amazed at how much light a crescent waxing moon can give off away from city lights. You can listen for coyotes and wake to birdsong. This casita is romantic and peaceful and just about as perfect as you can get. It;s affordable to boot!

Wonderful stay near Taos
Wonderful stay near Taos
This was a lovely relaxing stay in the Taos area. The casita is just a few miles north of Taos plaza, providing great access to all the area has to offer. The casita itself was decorated wonderfully in true New Mexico style, was perfectly sized for two and was also stocked with some basics like salt, pepper and sugar which was very handy when we wanted to stay in and cook. Watching the gorgeous sunsets every evening was so memorable. Very easy payment process. The owners also kindly recommended a 4wd vehicle and we were glad to have rented one - the dirt road in is a bit bumpy. We would stay here again without a doubt!

We feel like we won the jackpot with this casita! Warmer weather drew us to Taos from Minnesota. We had never spent time in the area before and were not disappointed. After a fun day of exploring, it was fantastic to relax in the hot tub overlooking both the desert and the snow-capped mountains. We tried to make it back to the casita each evening to enjoy the sunset from either the deck or hot tub. The road leading to the casita was a little rough, but it was kind of nice to have to slow down and enjoy the view. The casita has been charmingly decorated and everything we needed was available. Our hosts, Mary and Maggie, were helpful, friendly and just plain wonderful. And, our dog enjoyed playing with host dog, Patzci. We loved the casita so much that we extended our stay another night. This is one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed in and highly recommend it.

We stayed at the casita for four nights in early March, just when the weather was getting warmer. It was a delight to soak in the hot tub in the evening after long days of hiking and adventuring and we found the decoration and accommodations of the casita to fit our needs perfectly. We had looked at a lot of places and ended up being really glad we'd chosen this one-- it looks even better in person than in the pictures. Comfortable and picturesque, we'd recommend this Home away from Home to any single, couple, or small family of travelers. Thanks to Mary and Maggie for your hospitality and for affording us as much privacy as we needed. Five stars!

My husband, daughter and myself just spent a wonderful 3 nights here. We loved being out of town, but close enough if we wanted to head in. Every evening after a day of skiing we enjoyed the sunset while relaxing in the hot tub. Our little dog was comfortable and welcomed. The views are breathtaking. Wonderful price, great location and we look forward to returning!

I cut my teeth as an archaeologist working in the Taos area decades ago, and manage to return every year or so. I can say unequivocably that this is the nicest casita my wife and I have stayed in. The location was wonderful--terrific sky views at night, and endless vistas to the west and southwest across the Taos Plateau during the day. In the morning the sun lights up the top of Pueblo Peak; beautiful. The property was very clean and well maintained, including the hot tub, which we used every evening during cocktail hour (despite the January temperatures, it was nice and hot). The decor was very tasteful and comfortable. Maggie and Mary were perfect hosts--always available but not overbearing. I can hardly wait to return!

Relaxing and Lovely
Relaxing and Lovely
My husband and I own a retail shop and really wanted a peaceful getaway after the holidays, we got this and more. The little casita is really lovely with wonderful decor and great attention to detail. The bedding was super soft, the Ralph Lauren towels were plush and the hand blown drinking glasses are examples of great little touches. The views were stupendous, really panorama, fabulous. The casita is about 10 miles out of town so you get the feeling of being in the country but the town is close enough for convenience. The Casita is good for a couple, if you need more room, Mary and Maggie have a two bedroom house we alsp stayed at and loved. We will definitely stay here again. Mary and Maggie are amazing and made us feel so welcome. Check out the wonderful painting in the casita by Maggie:) The only thing I would suggest is do not trust your GPS on finding the casita, go by Maggie and Mary's directions,GPS was really off! Make sure and check out the stars! Cindy and Charlie Omaha, Nebraska
