My wife and I loved the house, it's amenities, feel and comfort. They have thought of many details that make the stay comfortable. The location is great being so close to the 'colorado' surf break (two minute walk). We had a meal by the chef "jessica" it was well presented, delicious, and very healthy. We would suggest seafood dishes. All the nice shady sitting areas make you just want to relax and read a book as the wind blows through the trees al around. Oh yeah the grounds were very well maintained and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Casa Marisombra is an excellent choice for accommodations. The location is perfect and the staff is wonderful. The meal plan is a great choice so that you can have more time in the pool or at the beach. You will wish for more time there!

Casa Marisombra is a beautiful home located across the street from an awesome beach. The home is quite comfortable and a great place to relax and unwind. The staff is what makes the home the best place to stay in Hacienda Iguana. Make sure and get the meal plan...the food is delicious and every meal is an experience to look forward to. This was our second visit to Casa Marisombra and we loved it. The surf was just as good in December as it was in April. We are looking forward to returning next year.

Best place to stay in Nicaragua. With Nicaragua's premier surf break right out front Marisombra was the perfect choice for a surf trip and reunion of friends. Head high + barrels all week, and lasting memories with my closest friends The house is also close to a local fishing community so hitching a ride to lesser known surf breaks, SJDS, and fishing was super easy with the help of the house's on site maintenance guy (a very polite and friendly Nicaraguan) and the housekeeper (also a local Nicaraguan who kept the house sparkling clean the whole week). A great place to stay not only for surf but for fun with friends, adventure, fishing, and exploring Nicaragua. There is so much to be seen in Nicaragua and Casa Marisombra is the perfect place to start.

The place was spotless, beds were very comfy, food was delicious, weather was lovely, and the beach was superb!! We really enjoyed our sunset walks in the evening on the beach. If I surfed, I'm sure it would be fantastic. It was great just watching!! I would definitely come again and tell all my friends about it.

Had a fantastic experience at Casa Marisombra, the house is fully dialed for an excellent surf experience. The house lay out is highly conducive for an outside lifestyle with great pool, hammocks and swinging chairs. We got set up with the full meal plan, 3 meals a day cooked by Jessica and Maria-Louisa, fantastic! The surf community that is set up here is just great, the guys up at the NSR office are rad, DLite and Eric. This is the 2nd time of been to Casa Marisombra and I'll most likely be returning next year if not again in the very near future. Duncan (san francisco, ca)

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful week at your lovely home. There is so much to love about the house, property and staff! The house itself is very well appointed with everything one needs to enjoy a relaxing beach holiday ( and I love the continual improvements to the pool, landscaping, and house.) The staff is very efficient, friendly and maintain an immaculate property. The setting is so lovely with beautiful shade trees and many inviting places to read or converse with a glass of wine... all the while enjoying spectacular views of the ocean. We would highly recommend Marisombra to those who would enjoy a unique house in a beautiful setting! Thank you for making our experience in Nicaragua so memorable.

we had a great visit here and will come again soon. super well trained staff. maids, gardeners and get the meal plan when you visit and they'll send in two people to cook all your meals. beautiful pool and terraces.

We have made it back to the States. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Everything was great, very clean and quiet beach with friendly staff at the house. It was also very easy for us to do everything we wanted from that location, fishing, surfing, horseback riding and Mombachu. That house was always very clean and the meals were incredible.

I have traveled to Nicaragua 10+ times over the last 15 years and stayed everywhere and this was the best! Marisombra has a great design for hanging out, yet provides privacy for all guests. The courtyard pool was great and the rooms were well appointed, comfortable and perfectly clean. The location was perfect, close to the breaks and under the canopy for a little sun and wind protection. I cannot say enough about the staff, my house mates included a executive chef at a 4 star restaurant, a bartender, and a restaurant manager so they expect great service. They got it! Maria Luisa and Marlon rocked ! ! !

I was part of the Maloy surf group and had a great time. Everything was excellent - Maria Louisa, Marlo, Guillermo were all superb. House was beautiful and pool was just what was needed after a long surf session. As we were beer drinkers, ice was an issue as we had no transportation but we worked it out with Marlo getting it for us. Taxi service with Marco went perfectly smooth. Would absolutely do it again. Thanks for putting it together for us and allowing us the hospitality of your home.

We are returning guests to Marisombra. We loved it so much the first time we just had to go back. The house, the beach and the staff were all great. We put the pool to very good use and it was very nice to have internet access. We highly recommend it. As an added comment on the beach at Iguana. It has to be one of the most beautiful in the world, pristine and almost private and right at your doorstep.

This was truly the best vacation that we have ever had! Thank you so much. Nicaragua is truly a land of clean, friendly people. The sea and the air were truly magnificent. What a place for a vacation! Not only is the beach great for surfers, it is safe for body surfing, children, and sand castles. I was fascinated by the skittering sand crabs, the howler monkeys next door and the friendly staff. My favorite room is the tower. Rapunzel couldn't have had a cozier place to read and meditate. My bedroom was steps away from the private pool where I played chess, volleyball and just wallowed in the sun.

What an ideal spot for total relaxation! The house is lovely with a beautiful courtyard and interesting nooks for curling up with a good book...a great feeling of privacy and yet easy access to the beach. We stayed at Marisombra for 7 days and enjoyed every minute. Cool breezes blowing through the house, great food and just a few steps away from the beach. I highly recommend getting the food plan...more time to relax and enjoy the surf. From the house it is just a short walk to the beach where you can check the surf at Colorado and Panga Drops. But if the swell is up...you will hear it from the house! Highly recommended.

"We loved Casa Marisombra! I chose it on a whim looking for a beautiful secluded beach and perfect surf- and I discovered the best spot on that whole stretch. We wandered up to Las Salinas and saw Popoyo and then visited Rancho Santana and were convinced that Hacienda Iguana is by far the best location...your house and its location could not have been better! We got to meet most of the neighbors and owners and everyone was so pleasant. I will recommend your house to all my friends and family."

We recently stayed with a group of friends and loved it! The house is very comfortable and is nice because you have many options. Even with a large group you can still have your privacy. We stayed upstairs and you felt like you were alone although there were 8 of us! I like that there are many places to lounge around like lots of hammoks and chairs. The kitchen is great everything you need to cook and convienient. We love having a private pool as well which is scarce here in Nicaragua. Close enough to beach as well, can see if from the kitchen and upstairs has nice few of trees and birds(Payacalli birds for ex) We highly recommend it!

My daughters and I had an awesome stay at Casa Marisombra in January. The accommodations are unique and comfortable, and being only steps from the beach made it pure paradise. I highly recomend this "home away from home" and hope to stay there again in the future.
