Edgewater Cottage is the garden cottage to Edgewater House, an historic St George's house built around 1851. As the name suggests we are right on the water, overlooking the pretty harbour of St George's. Enjoy sitting on the dock watching the boats go by or on our man-made beach complete with palm trees and loungers. Take a picnic to one of the islands on our 11' motor dinghy, or sail yourself around the harbour and islands in our sunfish. We also have bicycles for you to use and explore the town and nearby beaches (all with our compliments). The cottage is small but has everything you will need, with a kitchen/living area with an apartment sized cooker and fridge plus microwave, toaster, french press coffee maker on the upper level and bedroom with en-suite full bathroom on the lower, garden level. There is a TV in the bedroom as well as upstairs in the kitchen/living area. Outside the bedroom is a private terrace with adirondac chairs to sit and read and enjoy the view.

St George's is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and as such has a wealth of history and site-seeing opportunities. There are fast ferries and buses to Hamilton, the capital, and mopeds are available for rent (there is no car rental on the island). The cottage is within walking distance of beaches and plenty of swimming towels will be provided. There is also a supermarket 5 minutes walk away, stocking everything you will need for your holiday....

Or grill some freshly caught local fish on your barbeque - our friendly fisherman will deliver directly to the dock.

The cottage is an ideal base for your visit to Bermuda, with a convenient bus stop right outside your door. All linens and towels are provided so all you have to do is relax and enjoy Bermuda.

Free airport pick up and drop off available upon request.

We also have a bed and breakfast room with ensuite bathroom available for $100 per night in the main house. Please e-mail me for availability.

Please note some of the very kind comments below refer to our previous rental ... comments about us hopefully still apply!

Perfection!

Guest: Susan and Larry (Maine)
Date of Stay: 11/23/11 Review Submitted: 12/04/11

This cottage was an absolutely perfect place for us to spend a long weekend. I have been to Bermuda many times, but had never stayed in St George's - I have become a convert! The cottage is immaculate, and St. George's is a short (5 min) walk, Tobacco Bay beach is within walking distance, and there is a bus stop literally at the front door. Although we had a scooter, we walked to town and took the bus to Hamilton several times. St George's is a great historic town with good restaurants, a coffee shop (temptations), and an Oleander cycle location for easy scooter rental. The oudoor amenities at the cottage are fabulous. A waterfront seating area to enjoy swizzles and the sunset. Although we didn't take advantage of the dinghy available to guests, we would on a future visit. Sarah and Martin( and twiglet) were perfect hosts, and the airport pickup and drop off is a great added benefit. We would recommend without hesitation, a stay at this cottage.

Delightful Cottage

Guest: Jill and Doug (Burlington, Ontario Canada)
Date of Stay: 10/12/11 Review Submitted: 10/31/11

We can enthusiastically recommend a stay in Edgewater Cottage in charming old St George's. The cottage is delightful and has everything a couple could need for a week or so break from the busy world. The Wi Fi kept us in touch and the two TV's had a variety of program choice but best of all there were three or four places outside where a good book and a glass of wine could be enjoyed. Our friendly host Sarah met us at the airport and in minutes we were relaxing on the dock contemplating the beautiful surroundings. The attractions of St George's are only a few minutes stroll away. The grocery store had everything needed, there are several fine restaurants and 'Temptations' is a great coffee shop. For the photographer the town is ideal, almost every building is more than a hundred years old and has some historical significance. There are several Forts in the area, amazing works. We found the historical re-enactment in the town square most entertaining. Buses into Hamilton and to anywhere on the island conveniently stop at the door, the weekly bus/ferry pass is a bargain. The first bus ride is an eye opener, the drivers are very skilled at maneuvering through the twisty lanes, tooting the horn or waving at every friend they see. There are also many taxis in town if that is preferred. There are lots of beaches on the island, the best we found was Tobacco Bay, a secluded beach about 20 minutes walk from the cottage on the north of town. The little bay is sheltered. Take or rent a mask and snorkel for best views of the colourful fish. There is a snack bar and change facilities with umbrella and lounge rental available. Thank you Sarah for the most welcome airport shuttles, and for accommodating us at the last minute for two extra days. The B&B service you provided was great.

October 2011

My husband and I arrived at the Bermuda airport Sunday afternoon and Sarah was standing there with a sign with our names on it. We hopped in her car and 10 minutes later we arrived at this little gate by the side of the road. Sarah opened the gate and we saw the cutest little bungalo we could imagine. Obviously newly rennovated with brick flooring throughout, a very efficient little kitchen with everything you could possibly need to cook on vacation (we did breakfasts every day and packed some lunches). There is a T.V. in the kitchen/livingroom area plus a good sound system if you wanted just some music. Downstairs is a comfy queen sized bed, plenty of dressers and closets for all of your stuff. The bathroom is very pretty and efficient. We were amazed there were no screens on any of the windows and NO bugs except for one tiny cameleon who came in for a little visit. It was awesome sleeping with all of the windows open and hearing the water and the tropical critters outside! We used the little dingy and that was one of the highlights of our week We went out all day on the water, going to tiny private beaches with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and sodas (there is a little cooler to use). We snorkled off the beach and saw gorgeous fish and coral. We bought a 3 day transportation pass which gives you unlimited access to the ferry and bus system which was very fun to figure out and gave us access to the entire island. I highly recommend this place. It is definately small, but we never minded that one bit. There are places to sit and read outdoors; right on the dock or under 2 pretty unbrellas and palm trees right outside the bedroom door. Another PLUS was how close it is to St. Georges. You can walk there in less than 5 minutes! Tons if historical things to check out if you like that....several very good restaurants (we love eating by the water). We never even thought about our safety. The entire island is safe, beautiful and something everyone should do sometime before they die! Sarah was nearby if we had questions and made us feel extremely welcome! We will absolutely come back here. Probably next fall!

Dream Vacation

Guest: 2 SISTERS (Pennsylvania)
Date of Stay: 06/04/11 Review Submitted: 10/06/11

My sister and I visited Bermuda this past summer and stayed at Reeve Court. What a wonderful choice, a quaint historical apartment that made us feel right at home the minute we arrived. Sarah was such a gracious host that when we heard she was renting a cottage on the harbour this year we couldn't wait to make our reservation. St. George is the perfect location on the island to make your base because it is so easy to get to other points of attraction with bus or ferry .Sarah will also pick you up and drop you off at the airport, what a wonderful convenience. Tobacco Bay Beach is just a short walk away with beautiful turquoise waters and pink sand. I can not comment yet on this actual site but I have no doubt when I return next summer from my vacation I will have nothing but excellant reviews to write about. If you are considering this rental but you have doubts about booking on line, this is the place to try, it couldn't be easier. You will have memories to last a lifetime and I have no doubt that you will want to return year after year like myself.

My wife and I arrived on February 1, 2011 for a 4 night stay. Sarah was a gracious host from the time she picked us up at the airport, to the time she dropped us off at the airport. We highly recommend this home, especially if you enjoy staying in a historic building and away from the noise and crowds of a larger town. Bob & Donna Atlanta, Ga

Amazing, wonderful apartment

Guest: Greg and Tracy (Maryland)
Date of Stay: 06/22/10 Review Submitted: 08/02/10

This is a wonderful, historic apartment in the heart of St. Georges. It is well furnished and clean. We have stayed here twice with our two young children and have loved it each time. We'll keep coming back. The front patio is a great place to have breakfast or dinner and has a partial view of St. George's harbor. The kitchen is large for a one-bedroom. It makes cooking easy. It is also only two blocks from the grocery store. The owner is really friendly and helpful.

wonderful stay

Date of Stay: 05/16/10 Review Submitted: 06/14/10

We were at Reeve Court 4 nights in mid-May, being in Bermuda to greet our Son and his Wife who sailed to Bermuda from North Carolina. Perfect location as we could see their boat at anchor from the front porch. Sarah was most welcoming and helpful. The unit worked extremely well for us with lots of room and comfortable furnishings. Far exceeded our expectations.

Excellent accommodation and very obliging owners. St. George is a very pretty historic town.We loved the walk to Tobacco Bay with the many coves where we discovered the beautifully coloured parrot fish. Will definitely be back when the season is up and running.

Great Holiday

Date of Stay: 03/13/10 Review Submitted: 03/28/10

First of all, thank you for for greeting us at the airport and getting us there again a week later. The apartment could not have suited us better. It was immaculately clean and had every convenience that we could have asked for. What a wonderful place, situated in a beautiful historic town only a stone's throw from the main square. The location is perfect for walking to all of the conveniences (restaurants, grocery store and bus stop). We particularly loved the harbour view from the front porch - a great place to have our breakfast and some dinners. Thanks again for your friendly hospitality and for making this a memorable holiday.
