This cabin is perfectly located. Loved it being secluded but yet close enough to town for shopping and eating. The cabin was very clean, nicely furnished, and stocked well. 8 adults was on our trip and there was enough room that everybody had their own space. The hot tub and game room was very much enjoyed! We will definitely return.

this home was really a home away from home..it was comfortable..we stayed with our three children. there was plenty of room for all to roam and they were never bored..views were great..the distance from everything was perfect..i would stay again..we were very satisfied... everything was as pictured and listed.. it was nice and clean the owner was courteous and responded to any of my emails quickly.

My first thought is to tell you don't stay? Because we want to make sure dates are open when we come back. But that would not to fair to the owners. Their home which I thank them for opening to the public was fantastic! Each of our older children had their own floor. My reader (24) took the 3rd floor to herself. I didn't know there was a balcony until the last day when I checked to make sure we took all of our stuff. My oldest daughter (27) took the pool table and hot tub. Our floor was the main area, kitchen, living room, Jacuzzi, and a king size bed. I had the best sleep here in years. Two crows came buy each morning, previously we saw 9 wild turkeys out for a stroll in the yard area but the classic was a 300+ lbs bear walking from the street to the woods behind at 6am. I kept silent as he / she on all fours wanked about 25 feet from the second story porch. We've been coming to the Smokes every other year since 1977, stayed in Wares Valley, Cobbly Knob, and higher up ski mountain road. When you kids ( I Know they are adults) tell you they want to return here, that's a home run! We will. But please don't book us out. We had a small issue with the coffee maker, that Vivian had rectified in a timely manner. I loved having WiFi, it kept me connected and was able to get some work done before we left for adventures every day. If you stay here, please take good care for all the rest of us that want to return.

Excellent time with friends

We had an excellent time with friends for 5 days at Stairway to Heaven. As we finish unloading the cars and my husband is reading the guestbook he notices many guests have seen bears. Right away, Mr. Bear comes tromping threw the side yard and on up the driveway and out of view. He came back the next day and we got to see him again. Very neat experience. We loved the spaciousness of the cabin and loved the privacy that each of the three couples had in our rooms. The location of the cabin is excellent. Up on the mountain side but not a bad drive at all. Easy drive for our little car and the mini van. We were content to stay in the cabin because it was so comfortable and had fun activities as well. Wish we would have remembered we had a pool pass. We forgot until we noticed the info and pass the day we left. Definitely a reason to return!! We loved working with the owners. Very attentive to details. They answered all my questions and were very easy to work with. We will definitely rent from them again.

Really Nice Cabin

We stayed during Spring Break 2011 and it was perfect for us (family of four). All three bedrooms were attractively decorated and because each had its own bathroom, not having to share a bathroom was great. The location was perfect for us: Just outside the bustle of Gatlinburg and close to the entrance to the Park. The cabin has a nice flat lot which is hard to come by but you still get the mountain experience with nice views. There was a natural spring behind the cabin that offered a pleasant sound and fun for our kids. The water in the Park was up during our stay so I'm not sure if the natural spring behind the cabin is always flowing. The dogwood trees bloomed the week we stayed! The cabin felt new, efficient, and very comfortable. My kids spent time playing pool and foosball and we enjoyed the hot tub. It was so nice to come "home" after hiking in the Smokies each day. We normally go to a different destination each year, but if we go back to the Smokies we will stay here again. This was our fourth VRBO experience and while all have been very good, this was the best property. The owners were easy to work with and access to the property was hassle-free.

We came to the property with 14 people, and even though the place only sleeps ten we found room for everybody comfortably. The place was very well maintained, and we took advantage of all the amenities (hot tub, pool table, jacuzzi, etc.), which were in great shape. The location of the cabin is great because it is out of the downtown hustle and bustle but only a mile or so away from that area, so it's close but you don't have to deal with all the noise. It was easy for all of us to get together to eat and hang out, thanks to all of the space this property has. It was very easy to get ahold of people if we needed help, and the booklet about the property and surrounding area was very helpful. While we were in Gatlinburg, we spent an afternoon hiking to Rainbow Falls, which was a great hike and well worth it. We also spent some time downtown, took old time portraits, and took the tram up to Ober Gatlinburg for an afternoon. Ober Gatlinburg was nice, but felt a little run down, though we still enjoyed ourselves while up there. In order to not spend too much money while in Gatlinburg, we only went out to eat once, though there were plenty of places that looked good. We went to Calhoun's, where the service and food were both great. The weather turned out great for us while we were there, with highs in the mid 60's and no rain until the morning we left. All in all we had a great time and would come back again in an instant.

A Great Cabin Get Away!

For us the cabin was just about perfect. It was big enough for all six of us to hang out in one room or for us to split off and do our own thing. The deck and balcony were amazing, and the view of the sunrise over Gatlinburg was phenomenal. The hot tube was a little small for us, but it did comfortably fit 3-4 people. The Kitchen was also a little small and didn't have a lot of food storage options. Therefore a longer stay is made a little more difficult. I personally would have liked another smaller fridge in the game room but the one up stairs is plenty big. The Cabin was a great distance from town allowing you to feel like you were in the middle of no where yet town was only a ten minute drive if that.

Teachers' Retreat

A group of 9 recent college graduates (all of us teachers) decided to get away to the mountains for the weekend. We found our cabin easily and were welcomed by an extremely clean, charming, well-equipped cabin. All nine of us slept comfortably and were pleased with the well-stocked kitchen for us to cook in. We spent the days hanging out in the hot tub, grilling out and playing games--so relaxing! On Sunday we woke up surprised to find everything covered in a thin dusting of snow--beautiful! Thanks for the little getaway!

We stayed at this cabin from 1/2/11 to 1/7/11. The cabin is a mile up ski mtn road. You can see the city from the cabin however there are a lot of trees. We loved the wood fireplace! The only drawback was the wood provided was wet and nothing was provided to start the fire so we had to buy starting logs. The cabin was clean. The kitchen is small and did not have a pantry or space to put food which got fustrating especially when cooking and when trying to keep a 4 year old from chips and marshmallows! The cabin has flat land so if you have young kids who want to play outside it is perfect! We were able to make a snowman! Overall we had a great time and would stay at this cabin again!

A wonderful get away in a great location

We all had a wonderful stay at your place this weekend. It was the perfect place for 6 adults and one 5 month old to get away from everything for a few days. We loved it being on the National Park side of Gatlinburg because we didn't have to drive through town/traffic to get to the park at all. The location of your cabin gave us great access to Gatlinburg, the bypass to Pigeon Forge, and the National Park. I was watching football yesterday afternoon and just happened to get up and see a momma bear and two very healthy looking cubs in the yard. I have no idea how long they had been there before I spotted them, but it was very nice to see them. They walked around the yard for a couple of minutes and eased up the hill behind the cabin. We loved this cabin. My sister came with her four children and our family of four was there as well. We had so much room, we ere privated yet close enough to town to explore. The cabin was very clean, nice, and well decorated. We enjoyed the view, and my husband and our little girl got to see a bear while there!! The pool was also very nice. We would defintely stay here again and recommend it to everyone coming to gatlingburg!!!! It was so peaceful and relaing, and yet the kids could play pool and other games on another level and never bothered anyone else. We loved the cabin and the owners were very pleasant. We even needed help for local restaurants and the owners called and gave us directions. It was an overall pleasurable stay and we will be coming back!!!

Log Cabin up in the mountains with lots of privacy

Very clean. Beautiful wood everything. Bedtime can be a little difficult if you are a light sleeper and on the middle floor as you are next to both staircases going up and down. Recommend backing in to the driveway - makes it easier to get out. Everything in the description was as stated. Would recommend this property to anyone. Be sure to check out Clingmans Dome and Ripley's Aquarium! The Mellow Mushroom (Pigeon Forge) was the "best buy" of the week on food. Great pizza! Legends (Gatlinburg) - great breadsticks, potato wedges and Italian food as well as sandwiches for those who do not like pasta. Would not go back to Ripleys Guiness Book of Records, just a bunch of pictures of articles to read on the walls. Cades Cove may have been better if not raining.

My family just got back from a 4th of July weekend stay and we loved the chalet. It is close to downtown Gatlinburg and the park which makes the location very convenient. The chalet is beautiful . I highly recommend it and I would definitely rent this chalet again.

We enjoyed this cabin on a snowy weekend in February. We had four adults and four children and there was plenty of room. The location is very convenient up the mountain (only 5 minutes to be in the middle of town). Enjoyed the fireplace and the LCDHD TV. There are only 3 houses past this cabin so it's very private. Enjoyed the four deer passing through the yard but no bears. Also appreciated arriving to a very clean cabin. Will definately consider for our next trip to the mountains!

What a great cabin. Extremely well kept and maintained. Gatlinburg between xmas and new year was crazy but the beauty of the cabin was its quite location. Having a bedroom on each deck gave each couple their own space. The open fireplace was great on the very cold nights. Plenty of wood supplied. A great quality cabin.

Thank you so much for a great experience. The chalet was extremely clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was small but efficient. Our boys loved the pool table and foosball, and the hot tub was enjoyed by all. The home seems very secluded, but it's less than 5 min. to town. The view is good, but probably better once all of the leaves fall from the trees. Overall, outstanding. We would definitely stay at this cabin again. Thanks Again.

My husband and I, our 2 youngest children (8 & 12), & my senior parents were more than pleased with our stay at this cabin. The kids had their own beds and bathroom upstairs & enjoyed the PS2 as well. My parents enjoyed their own bedroom & bathroom on the lower level and we enjoyed the large master suite & king bed on the middle level. The cabin's privacy was important to us and we will definitely stay here again if we make another trip to the Smokies. The road went on up the mtn and then was a dead-end.. . .no traffic and a great place to take walks. The cabin was very clean and had every amenity we needed. We had the same bear visit the cabin several times and the kids named her Honey! We loved the sturdy swing and used all the decks each day. Frank & Vivian, thanks for sharing your great cabin w/ us!

Our family of 4, met up with 2 friends at the cottage. It was truly amazing; the pictures do not give it justice. It was clean and created a feeling of being home. After one night, we felt so relaxed like we were there for days. It is very convenient to downtown Gatlinburg. Once you get a local map, suggest using the back roads. our favorite cabin

After staying in cabins 9 vacations in the gatlinburg area over the last 3 years, this is the only cabin we came back to stay in a second time. It is by far our favorite one. The location is only 5 minutes from gatlinburg and the national park, yet it is more quiet and secluded than most other rental cabins. It is very clean and well decorated with a bear theme. It is nice having a bedroom and bathroom on each level so that everyone has there own space, or everyone can get cozy on the main level. Our favorite thing about this cabin is the wildlife viewing. We love sitting out on the deck and seeing the animals. This last trip we saw 4 different bears, a gray fox, wild turkey, raccoon, and coyote. We had at least one bear come up on 4 different days, and on one day there were 4 of them at the same time. We enjoy all there is to do in the smoky mountains, however, sometimes we hate to leave this cabin because we are afraid we are going to miss seeing the animals. The cabin has plenty of parking with easy access and a large yard which most cabins do not have. While staying here you have to make a trip to pigeon forge to eat at the old mill, and at the applewood farmhouse restaurant. We cant wait to come back again in a few months. Any season is a great season to come to the smokies. Thank you Vivian for being so pleasant to work with and for sharing this great cabin with us. My mom, Lois and my sister, Diana came on this trip with me and my wife, Janelle and they fell in love with the cabin also. Hope to stay here again soon. Thanks, Roy

Mountain retreat

We just returned from a great trip at your beautiful mountain retreat. It was very relaxing and private,yet close to Gatlinburg and the wonderful Smokey Mountains. Having a separate bathroom for every bedroom works out perfectly when having a three couple getaway. We saw bears on most mornings and some evenings. We look forward to staying with you again soon!!

We loved the house. It was extremely clean and had everything we needed. We loved the three floors and decks. My daughters stayed on the top floor and loved having their own space. We enjoyed having the yard, which is rare on the mountain. We had bears several times and one almost got into our parked car. I recommend keeping the windows closed. We really enjoyed watching them. The owners are extremely helpful with any questions. I would highly recommend this cabin.

What a wonderful place to stay. Everything was just as stated. In less than five minutes you are at the gateway entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. In the morning we saw the wild turkeys, but unfortunately no bears for us, though we did see a mama bear and her cub up close in the park. With the three floors, we each had our private space, but could all be together comfortably when we wanted. The kids loved the PS2 and we all enjoyed the game room. We are already talking about coming back next year and would love to stay here again. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone planning a visit to the Gatlinburg area.

I think we got the best cabin in all of the Smokey Mountains. Very convenient to Gatlinburg but away from the traffic and noise. The house is equipped with all you will need. The best rental home we have ever stayed in. The game room was excellent for our kids. Access to the pools is a mile away but worth the drive if you just want a day at home (plus the drive is beautiful). Plenty of space and a nice flat yard for the kids to spend time outdoors (very unusual in the mountains). Traffic in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is horrendous but there are lots of things to do if you don't mind it. We preferred Gatlinburg. We loved our days in the mountains. Great drive through Cades Cove and hking to waterfalls. All close to this cabin. Even rainy days in the cabin were pleasant. One evening at dusk we looked outside to see a black bear in the yard. This was the highlight of the trip for our kids. The next evening a family of wild turkeys was hanging out when we arrived. Dollywood is a nice themepark for families (we have tried them all). My 65 year old mother loved the shows and the shade, my teenagers loved the rollercoasters, and my 4 year old loved the water play areas. I did not expect it to be such an enjoyable park. You could easily spend 2 days there. If you are planning to go to this area for a family vacation...this cabin is an excellent choice.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank you on the beautiful and roomy accommodations and that we enjoyed staying in your cabin. We drove 14 hours from Fort Lauderdale for our family vacation and this will definitely be one of the most memorable one. The drive was long but as soon as we walked into the doors of the cabin we knew it was worth the 14 hours drive. In the early morning hours we got to see the wild turkeys and rabbits. And one evening we got to see black bear trying to get into the garbage. The kids enjoyed the game room and the adults enjoyed the Jacuzzi. The cabin is well located in the mountain with a great view. Close to all of the attraction and Pigeon Forge is a short drive away. We will be back again! Thanks again, The Sevilla's

We had a large family vacation in Gatlinburg. The cabin was beautiful with lots of room and plenty of things to do. It rained most of the time we were visiting but we were able to entertain at the cabin. With all the convenience of home, we did not have to pack much for the trip. I would recommend this cabin over others in the area. Most other cabins are right next to another with not much privacy. That is not the case with this cabin. There is tons of privacy. We even had a deer outside our window the first morning we awoke on vacation. That was a nice way to start our vacation.

Our vacation at the "Stairway to Heaven" property was just that "Heavenly". The property is lovely and the views are fantastic no matter where you look. I was most pleased with how impeccably clean and well maintained the property was. The entire cabin is beautifully furnished & decorated in authentic cabin decor. We loved that, because it truly made us feel we were away from home. It definitely felt like we were nestled away in the mountains even while indoors. The owners have not missed a thing here. Their attention to detail does not go un-noticed. We were two families staying in this cabin for a total of (8) and we did not feel cramped at all. It is an extremely spacious property with three separate floors, each bedroom having its own private bath, and this was very important to us because we always felt we had our privacy when we needed it. The children loved the game room. It is a great place for a family with small children and/or teenagers. My kids can't wait to go back. I admit, I can't wait either. I totally recommend staying here. It is centrally located and minutes from downtown Gatlinburg where there is plenty of shopping, skiing, and fun for everyone. We even got snow during our stay and you cannot imagine how beautiful this place looks covered in snow as well.
