Welcome to Chalet at Sawyer Creek and a vaction you'll truly love. This comfortable chalet is located amid lovely poplars and oaks and boasts a beautiful mountain view. It has a light and airy great room with two sets of sliding doors that open to the elevated deck area. It's like being in a treehouse; what fun! The deck surrounds the chalet on three sides and is 600 square feet HUGE! Here you'll find a hammock, Weber grill, picnic table, and lounge chairs for your enjoyment. There's a nice stone fireplace in the great room for chilly nights and a big video library should you encounter a rainy day. Chalet at Sawyer Creek has a expansive loft area with king size bed, bathroom, reading nook and a picture window looking out into the forest. People don't think about it when they pick a place to stay, but a comfortable bed makes a BIG difference! Our beds are newly purchased every few years and very comfortable. Downstairs you'll find another bed and bath. Each bed and bath area is separate allowing for plenty of privacy should there be two couples. You'll also like the mountain decor. Try counting the bears in the loft! The upscale kitchen has everything you'll need, and there's a washer and dryer!
Here you can walk to the Appalachian Trail, fish in the creek, relax in the hammock, or even pick berries right outside your door. A short walk from the cabin you'll even find a little waterfall. An added bonus at Chalet at Sawyer Creek is our incredibly delicious cold mountain water right out of the tap! It's better than the best bottled water...sweet and pure.
The great room has wood floors, a stone fireplace, and cathedral ceilings. Enjoy the ambiance while looking through the big book provided for guests to help them decide what to do first; a week can't cover all the activities in this part of the Smokies.
You're not far from the action in Cherokee, Bryson City, and the national park. The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad is only 20 minutes away. The Cherohala Skyway and Joyce Kilmer National Forest are a short drive away, too. Fontana and Santeelah Lakes are also nearby; they're perfect for a day of fishing, hiking or you can even rent a pontoon boat for the day! Hiking trails, waterfalls, and beautiful vistas abound in this wilderness area. 80% of Graham County is national forest, so you'll think you're in the most secluded spot in the Smokies, but less than 20 minutes away, you can get whatever you might need...including great mountain music from nearby venues.
