We had a great stay at the Lone Pine Lodge. We had 12 people there and the kitchen and living room were great for having everyone together. The hot tub was an added bonus. It is very close to Heavenly and other great attractions.

Amazing 30th Birthday Get-Away

The Lone Pine Lodge was the perfect place for my 30th birthday bash! My friend & I arrived first and while getting the key from the lock box, almost dropped the cover in the grate (forgot about previous reviews). The grate is a little weird to walk across every time you go in and out of the door. Even though it looked a lot bigger online, I was impressed by how open the kitchen was and how quaint and cozy the entire floor plan was. My family from Illinois had no trouble finding the place, as they met us shortly after we arrived. The cozy den/theater, huge kitchen, spa, sledding in the backyard and spacious master bath with jacuzzi tub were my favorites! We planned a big dinner, with four of us comfortably prepping in the kitchen and using the BBQ with ease. If we ever had any questions, someone was available right away and when we couldn't figure out how to connect the surround sound to the DVD player, someone came out within about 3 hours. The beds were cozy, fireplace kept it warm downstairs and everything was in working order. We did come across one spider hanging from the kitchen ceiling and one huge ant in the master bath....no bears!!! For the price and amenities, The Lone Pine Lodge is the perfect Tahoe retreat and I would reccommend it to anyone!

This home was ideal for our family vacation for a total of six people. The location was in close proximity not only to the various ski resorts, Heavenly, Sierra, Squaw, and Kirkwood, but also to the grocery store, casino, shopping, and restaurants. The house was comfortable and was home for the week we were there. We loved having the option to grill dinner if we wanted to, and also to relax in the hot tub after a day of skiing. The house was well maintained except for some cleanliness issues. If I had any recommendations they would be: We cooked every night at the house and found the pan selection to be poor. There definitely needs to be a better variety and replacement of the non-stick pans is critical. They were well/over used and difficult to clean. The couch in the TV family room needs replacing - the springs are all broken in the seats. If not replaced, then at least cleaned - it is stained and filthy. In fact, the couch hadn't even been vacuumed under the cushions; there was food all under the cushions. If this home is advertised as accommodating 12 people, there definitely needs to be more towels at the house. There aren't 12 bath towels for each person to have a towel. We washed towels during the week and there were six of us. There should be more blankets especially upstairs as it got chilly at night. All in all this home added to our memorable vacation and we will definitely look to VRBO for future vacation accommodations. Thank you!

we stay on the cabin in February 2012 and the cabin is very nice. the kitchen tools are in very bad shape and need to be replaced. The pans and lots of kitchen tools looks ugly. besides this excellent cabin

Our group of 11 enjoyed this property tremendously. It was everything the former reviews noted and more. Great location. Plenty of room for kids, snow play, sleeping, cooking, eating, puzzles and just relaxing! Clost to slopes and snow park as well as grocery store! We planned our meals in advance and split the list of food between our three families. We were only there for two nights and didn't want our time to be wasted planning meals or at the grocery store. This turned out to be a fabulous plan (if I don't say so myself!). There were no extra towels in the downstairs bathroom - that would have been helpful. Even though each gues had a bath towel, hand towel and washcloth, those of us that slept upstairs did not bring our towels with us downstairs and those that were downstairs kept their own towels so that was a little odd. But really that was the only thing I could complain about (which is a stretch at that!). Just more noting it so either a) owners can add them in the future or b) so future renters can be sure to station one or two in the bathroom from the beginning. The kids loved the bonus den but unfortunately my newly tall 15 year old hit his head so hard on the slope of the stairs leading up to the den that we worried he had a concusion (luckily one of our guests was a nurse). An ice pack for the rest of the night took care of that. Hot tub was wonderful! Nothing like it after a cold day of playing in the snow. Would love to rent this place again, just for a longer period of time. Oh and as a side note, the 11am check-out is no joke! We were in the driveway still saying our goodbye's to our family at 11:25am and several young men (hired by the owners) were there to get the place ready for the next group.

Clean, spacious Tahoe home

Loved staying at this property this winter. The kitchen is great for cooking for large groups and the hot tub makes any snowy night after hitting the slopes blissful. Great stay!

perfect escape

Came here with frds to enjoy the opening week in Heavenly. The house is cozy and equipped with all the appliances that we wanted, especially the hot tub. The location is great to Heavenly and not far away from the downtown casinos. One little thing might be improved is the place where the key lockbox is located, we once dropped the key and it slipped down thru the sewer cover.

We had 12 people in our party, plenty of place to sleep, however there were only 10 towels available and 2 rolls of toilet paper (already on the dispenser) for our 2 night /3 day stay...a few of the pots/pans were not cleaned, these are all an easy fix. This is why I took off 1 star. Overall good location, it's 5-6 miles away from casinos, grocery stores and the beach. We would stay again but this time we will bring our own towels and toilet paper. :)

We had an amazing weeks vacation in this wonderful home in August 2011. The photos are perfectly accurate and we were very happy to find the house modern, clean and spacious. The kitchen was VERY well stocked with cooking utensils, pots/pans and crockery. Plus some very thoughtful extras left in the cupboards (spices, coffee, oil, teabags etc). The home theater den was a big hit, we rented DVDs from the local Safeway each night and really relaxed after a day at the beach. We would happily rent again, and have recommended to many friends already! Thanks so much

This cabin exceeded my expectations! What you see in the pictures is what you get, the cabinets are fully stocked all the cups, plates you need & even spices, oatmeal, sodas etc. All of the beds were so comfortable, travel shampoos & lots of towels were also provided. Also in the downstairs bathroom there is a dual shower head & in the master bath the water sprays down the sides as well as the shower head. I can't wait to take another trip to this cabin!!!

This is the third time we have stayed with VROLT and will NOT be the last. They do everything to accomodate us in every which way. Great Location!

We went up for a weekend of snowboarding and the place was perfect. The big kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils and cookware we needed to make a group meal. The fact that our whole group could sit together in the kitchen and the living was a big plus. We would definitely rent this again!

Vow Renewal Ski Trip in Lake Tahoe

We stayed at the house in early February for a vow renewal and ski vacation. It was lovely, and just as described! We had 11 guests in total and the house held us all perfectly! We had a great time, and the owner and management company were a pleasure to deal with the whole time. We would go back again and recommend this home to anyone who is lookign for a great peaceful vacation in Tahoe.

Great, cozy house

We just had a great ski weekend at this house. 12 of us fit in with no problem at all. The house was immaculate and all of the appliances were pretty much brand-new. Three highlights: 1) The den is very cozy, but big enough for 12 of us to watch a movie without a problem- definitely a unique feature of this house. 2) The hot tub is close enough to the kitchen so you can easily hop out and check on the chili. 3) The open layout of the kitchen / living room allows everyone to gather while food is cooking. We can't wait to rent this cabin next year!

Three families (6 adults, 4 children) stayed here over Easter and it was a great vacation. The home has plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. It is hard to beat the end of a great day of skiing by jumping into the hot tub. We hope to be back soon.

Beautiful House, Great Location

This is an amazing location for easy access to a variety of ski areas. It was an hour from Homewood, ~15 minutes from Heavenly, and ~45 minutes from Sierra. We never made it to Kirkwood but that was only about ~45 minutes away as well. The hot tub and multi-showerhead showers were great for relaxing and winding down after a full day of skiing. The South Lake Tahoe Casinos were only about 15 minutes away and you can arrange cab service to/from the house should you want it (we did). We used the grill and the kitchen for most of our meals. There was plenty of cookware, a gas range, and a ton of space. The dishwasher was a bonus for cleaning up. There was also a nice entertainment set-up with a big flat-screen TV, surround sound system, and DVD player. Two thumbs up all around.

We had 9 people in our group, and we absolutely loved this place! The only issue we had was the bunk bed squeaks so loudly we could not use it. Luckily I brought some Airobeds with us and we used those on the floor instead. We really enjoyed the media room - we watched the Olymipics and several movies. We anticipated going out for dinner and other activities in the evening more, but we enjoyed the house so much we cooked in, soaked in the hot tub, and played games there instead. If you are on the fence about this place, get off and book it!

Beautiful house! Everything is updated and in wonderful condition, including the very comfortable beds. The den was great, our xbox players could crank up the volume without it disturbing the rest of the house. The hot tub is huge, and the family room/kitchen/dining space opens up to the deck so there was lots of places to get together and chat together. I highly recommend this house.

Stayed here during the winter season with friends. The house is lovely. Has two b/rooms on 1st floor and two b/rooms on the 2nd floor. The second floor b/rooms need to share the master bathroom. Fantastic separate TV room, for either the kids to play in, or the adults to relax in after the kids are in bed. Overall, a great home for our skiing holiday.
