Hokulani Guest House (Hawaiian for "heavenly star") is a beautiful home nestled in the lush green valley that Mark Twain loved and native Hawaiians found so inviting eons ago. Wake up to a beautiful mountain view from the large, wrap-around lanai. Palm trees sway in the breeze. Pick fruit for breakfast: mangoes, oranges, bananas, avocados. Gourmet kitchen, great room with soaring open beam ceilings, hardwood floors, elegant dining area. Antique features throughout. Two large master bedroom suites with luxury baths. Two loft bedrooms and bath upstairs. Entry bridge crosses a dry stream bed with water feature. Away from the crowds and lights, a million stars twinkle overhead. This may be the most perfect climate on the island – not as hot as Kona, not as chilly or damp as Volcano, just perfect.
Conveniently located on the main road, yet hidden from the road by mature trees, your Big Island retreat is just 15 minutes from the famed Punalu`u Black Sand Beach, where giant sea turtles bask. Also nearby are the southernmost point in the U.S. and a popular green sand beach. Drive along a sweeping seacoast only 45 miles to Volcanoes National Park, close enough to allow time for a more thorough exploration of the most-visited attraction on the island. In the other direction, a scenic drive up the Kona Coast takes you past cattle ranches and Kona coffee farms. Several beach parks are along the way.
Next door to Hokulani is the Banyan Tree House, another guest house with hot tub and kitchenette, if you want to bring more friends, family or a workshop group. We can offer on-site spa services, including massage and facials. |
