Sunflower cottage is one of six housekeeping cottages that make up Sunset Shores Resort. The resort provides guests visiting Door County the best of both worlds!
Located near all the quaint towns, shopping, restaurants and recreation venues, guests can return at the end of a busy day, to the quiet, friendly resort where they can enjoy a spring-fed lake, breathtaking sunsets, and evening bonfires.
Sunflower cottage was renovated in 2006. It combines the quaint look of knotty pine with an updated snack bar between the kitchen and living room. The bathroom has a new vanity and shower.
Morning coffee or evening cards can be enjoyed on the screened porch with has a beautiful lake view.

Owner Description
Sunflower cottage is owned by 4 sisters and their husbands. The cottage was purchased in 1999 along with the other 5 cottages at the resort. In 2004, 3 of the cottages were sold but the family of sisters still owns Lakeside, Chalet and Sunflower cottages. The owners all love Door County and their entire family vacations at the resort the last week of July. The rest of the time they don't mind sharing this little slice of heaven with their guests.
Why the Owner Chose Kangaroo Lake
The "Tighe sisters" and their families have been vacationing in Door County for over twenty years! One of the sisters also owns a cottage at East Shorewood on Kangaroo Lake. While the family was vacationing at East Shorewood in 1999, they learned that Sunset Shores (formerly Squaw Point) was for sale. They bought the entire resort in 1999 and ran it as a family business for 6 years. The resort is now a condominium resort and each cottage is individually owned and managed.
