Located in the Heritage Woods Section of Sea Pines Plantation, our house sits in the middle of a Maritime Forest. Deer and wildlife run freely through our backyard. Our back deck runs the length of the house & is perfect for outdoor lounging. A large lagoon accents the surroundings by offering water views from inside and outside the house.
This picturesque setting is located in a warm and friendly neighborhood in Sea Pines. Bike Trails surround the neighborhood making beach access accessible in minutes. Bike to Harbour Town to the west or to South Beach Marina to the south. This is a fantastic family fun vacation locale. No matter what the interest, all family members should be able to safely navigate around the neighborhood to the beach or pool or their desired destination.
The Sea Pines Beach Club complete with a beach shop, restaurant and outdoor grill, outdoor Tropical Bar & nightly entertainment is one of your access points to the beach. There are 2 other access paths to the beach that are closer (see map) and offer ocean tranquility and beach beauty along some of the most valuable residential property on the whole island. The Plantation Club’s Pool is available for your use. It is partially covered and is heated during certain times of the year.
A serene lagoon view greets you from all angles in and around the house. Inside, the home has new hardwood floors, tiled Kitchen, 2 first floor bedrooms with king size beds, a dining room, eat-in Kitchen area, a screened porch, a fireplace and cathedral ceilings all on the first floor. Upstairs is the third bedroom, the sleeping loft and a full bathroom. Outside, the decking runs the entire length of the rear of the house and the screened porch shares the same lagoon water views.
The first floor has an open and bright floor plan with lots of windows and skylights. The Living Room has a vaulted ceiling, double sliding doors to the deck, a ceiling fan and fireplace. The dining area is separate, but open to the living room.
The Kitchen is completely tiled with a large greenhouse window. There is a Kitchen bar separating the Kitchen form the breakfast and sitting area. The Kitchen has plenty of windows and opens into the screened porch. A large laundry room with a pantry is off the Kitchen. The first floor powder room is off the laundry and Kitchen area.
Bring your fishing rod and try to catch some of the spotted bass in the lagoon or just sit out in the porch in the evening and watch them jump out of the water catching their dinner. There is also spectacular bird watching and other enjoyments of nature. The bike paths and nature trails are right outside the front door. Nothing else quite like this atmosphere on the East Coast.

- Pet Friendly : We are pet Friendly and so is Hilton Head Island. There is a pet bakery at Coligny Plaza. There is also a pet park at the north end of the island. Beach Policy for Animal Regulations: April 1 - May 30 - Animals must be on a leash between 10 AM and 5 PM. May 30 until Monday of Labor Day weekend - NO animals allowed on the beach between 10 AM - 5 PM. Tuesday after Labor Day - September 30 - Animals must be on a leash from 10 AM - 5 PM. October 1 - April 1 - No leashes required at any time, however, your dog IS required to be under positive voice control. On the beach or not, local law requires owners to clean up after their pets.

We just loved the house. It was so close to the bike trail and beach. The bed was so comfortable and the linens an towels a nice quality. The screen porch was one of our favorite things. The enclosed courtyard was another. It was wonderful staying in a very clean home. We find traveling with our pets most home owners try and rent us less than clean homes. We have rented four times from Hilton Head Hideaways and each home was wonderful.

There is a reason all the reviews are from 3-4 years ago. It definitely needs some work now to make it look like the photos. some maintenance is needed on the front grounds, as well as inside the house. The location, however, is exactly as stated. Very convenient to everything. I would recommend some yard clean-up in the courtyard and in front of house by driveway, some window and sliding glass door repairs inside, and a good cleaning of windows, glass doors, and bedroom carpet. Also could use some new pots and pans, with lids that fit the pots and a new coffeemaker. Just some easy fixes. A nice open floor plan and the bikes are a definite plus. Would recommend this property to a friend.

We had a fabulous time in early Nov. The house was a perfect place for two couples to share. Its a lovely home, the bikes were a blast and sitting on the deck in the afternoon was totally relaxing in the warm sun. There is plenty of space for everyone and it was extremely comfortable. Thanks for a great time!

I would highly recommend 26 Gunnery Lane, a wonderful property in a terrific neighborhood of Sea Pines. The back deck overlooks a tree-fringed lagoon and the whole neighborhood is rich with birdsong and criss-crossed with bike-paths. The three-bedroom house is wonderfully bright, stylishly decorated, and very comfortable; and the second floor -- with its bedroom, loft area and bath, is perfect for guests. Our dog loved the house, particularly the fenced-in courtyard in front -- a rarity on Hilton Head. The Zapiecs were extremely helpful with insider tips and very responsive to any needs we had.

This is our 3rd stay at Gunnery Lane, and we always have a great time. We rode bikes, played tennis, and golf, as well as relaxed. A great place with a real at home feel.

Really outstanding! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 26 Gunnery. This property is very tastefully done, clean and well stocked with nice supplies and amenities. The owner's "locals tips" were a big plus. It is so rare, and so appreciated, to find such a nice rental that is pet friendly. We would gladly come back and have already recommended these properties to several of our friends. The owners were so nice to deal with. A big 2 thumbs up!

Our entire family enjoyed our first-time stay at 26 Gunnery. The home was beautiful and immaculately clean. We had more than enough room and every one had their own space. We especially appreciated the pet-friendly environment so both our chihuahua and our daughter's (from Florida) chihuahua could enjoy vacation with us. We also enjoyed the extra amenities like the use of the beach chairs and bikes. Your listing of great restaurants and directions were invaluable. Also watching for the gator as we sipped wine on the deck was an added attraction. Thanks for a great time. Hope to visit you all again soon. Jonathan and Sally St. George
