SANDPOINT has recently been chosen by USA TODAY NEWSPAPER as THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SMALL TOWN IN AMERICA. Sandpoint was chosen primarily because of the beauty of Lake Pend Oreille. We are located directly on Lake Pend Oreille in the town of Hope...which both locals and visitors agree is the most beautiful lake location.

We believe that our Lake House is the best value on the lake.. Nothing has been spared and the quality is of the highest standard from furnishings to bedding. We also offer the FREE USE OF THE FOLLOWING...3 MOUNTAIN BIKES (including helmets), 1 CRUISER BIKE, 4 KAYAKS (with lifejackets), a PADDLE BOAT, numerous FLOATING DEVICES, WATER SKIIS, WAKE BOARD, TUBING EQUIPMENT and more. FREE COFFEE BEANS and a SELECTION OF TEAS, FREE WI-FI & DISH NETWORK. For a VERY REASONABLE FEE we will take you fishing on FULLY EQUIPPED FISHING BOAT. For a small fee + gas, we will take you WATER SKIING OR TUBING or on a KAYAK TRIP. Be sure to scroll down and view (24) ADDITIONAL PHOTOS on THE SLIDE SHOW (just below the VIEW CALENDAR).
Lake Pend Oreille is the 14th largest freshwater lake (by volume) in the world. Bounded by spectacular mountains, lush forests and tucked into a pristine bay, Hope is the most sought after area on the lake. There are local marinas, top shelf restaurants, a fitness club and hiking trails galore. Take a spectacular scenic 25 minute drive to Sandpoint where you’ll find great shopping, entertainment and loads of friendly people. This is truly paradise.
The new guest house is located 50 feet from our main house so we are usually available to assure your every comfort and convenience if requested. We share the large dock and 100 foot beach front area with our guests. Please contact us for complete information and make sure to click on SLIDE SHOW for (24 ADDITIONAL PHOTOS) 1/2 down page.

The McAfees loved this place!

Guest: The McAfees (Troutdale, OR USA)
Date of Stay: 09/04/11 Review Submitted: 09/12/11

We had a fabulous time here. The house is beautiful inside and out. Inside, the floor is gorgeous bamboo. There is a big TV with all the Dish channels. You have a washer/dryer and are supplied with laundry soap. There are plenty of bath towels there for you and you are supplied with beach towels. There is a deluxe Weber gas grill on the patio for grilling and table and chairs. The entire property is immaculate. The yard is of golf course quality. We spent a lot of time at the beach area. There are lounge chairs and float toys. There are also beautiful rock top tables with chairs at the beach area for eating. A huge bonus is the four kayaks and paddle boat. They are sitting right by the water and you can use them anytime. Just hop in and go. This was really nice because our kids wanted to go often but never for long periods of time. The owners, Ken and Lyn, are wonderful people and great hosts. They are laid back and very friendly. Ken is available to take you on the lake in his ski boat for a very reasonable fee. He has all the toys: biscuit/tube, water skis, and kid water skis. He has a giant biscuit that holds three people. We had an awesome time on the boat. I am not that great of a skier, but Ken got me right up. My 10-year-old daughter also learned to ski for the first time. We were thinking of renting a boat but I am glad we did not. Both times we went we were worn out in less than two hours. Ski boats are rented for a minimum a half day and are much more expensive. With Ken, you are not paying for a boat all day long, just when you use it and you get a great captain! Also, his boat is quite nice and it has plenty of power. We also fished off the dock. (My son caught a fish.) There is a fire pit near the water so one night we had a fire and made s'mores. Ken also has nice bikes that you can ride. I really can't think of what else you would need! The location is great. You are just a short distance from Sandpoint and the drive is beautiful. You are also close to Schweitzer Mountain. We spent a day Silverwood Amusement Park. There are some good restaurants close by in the Hope/East Hope area. As you can tell we were IMPRESSED and had a GREAT TIME! I really hope to get back soon.

Wonderful Beautiful Better than advertised

Guest: Helen and Les (Orlando, FL)
Date of Stay: 07/08/10 Review Submitted: 07/08/10

Stayed July 19, 2010 for 3 days and wish we could have stayed all summer. Interior is beyond description and furnished like owners lived there and not for rental. Very large and comfortable and Ken and Linda are wonderful hosts/owners right there in their home if you need anything. 1/4 mile to wonderful floating restaurant that is very gourmet. Also next door to marina with great breakfast. So close to Sandpoint and all the things to do there. This was our first VRBO experience and we are not going to Hawaii and renting two houses there. We were a family of 4 adults (2 seniors and 2 adult children).

We stayed at Ken and Lyn's wonderful guest house for a week in August with our 3 children and had a great time. The accommodations were beautiful, clean and comfortable and Ken and Lyn were close by to provide us with whatever we needed. We swam, fished, tubed, kayaked and enjoyed boat rides with Ken. It was absolutely perfect and we still talk about the best vacation we ever had!

COPIED FROM LAKEHOUSE GUESTBOOK Thank you for sharing your lake property with us and for your warm hospitality. We enjoyed the opportunity to use your paddle boat & kayaks. On cool, windy days we did not mind spending time inside your ***** 5 - Star guest house. Sierra's favorite parts of staying here were the hammock, big screen TV & chocolate kisses! Thanks again, Todd, Lisa & Sierra THE RAY FAMILY
