Warm and inviting with touches of rustic desert art and modern amenities makes it appealing to all tastes. This is a comfortable 3 bedroom/2 bath home that sits on 5 acres of pristine Mojave Desert land with dozens of ancient Joshua Trees. This beautiful home offers a modern kitchen with custom concrete counter tops, a flat screen TV, satellite (cable) tv, DVD player with a small movie library, stereo/CD player, free WiFi, 2 queen size beds, and 2 twin beds (or 1 king). The home will sleep 6 comfortably, 8 max.
The side yard of the Sunset Terrace offers a gas grill to cook your meals on and outdoor fire pit to keep you warm on winter nights. Our comfortable outdoor seating along with the hammock strung under the shade of the cottonwood tree offer places to fully relax while visiting with the bunnies, roadrunners, birds, lizards and quail. Finally, enjoy a soak in the hot tub while gazing up at the desert night sky. The Terrace yard is fenced for your privacy.
This home has had its share of visitors from romantic trips for two, family vacations, artists and musicians getaways to girl’s weekends, family’s being reunited with members of the military, friends creating new memories together, and now… we welcome you.

Why the Owner Chose Joshua Tree
My husband built the Sunset Terrace from the ground up and we furnished it to become a vacation rental. It makes us happy to have people calling our place home for a short time while they relax, visit, unwind, and experience Joshua Tree National Park.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Unlike a lot of homes here in Joshua Tree, the Sunset Terrace has a somewhat rustic look but has all of the modern benefits: fully insulated, central heat and air, full modern kitchen and a fenced back yard. We also added a hot tub so that our guests can soak while viewing the desert night skies...something that you will want to keep coming back for! The home also sits on 5 acres, giving you space to roam, yet it is close enough to the village of Joshua Tree that you could walk to the Farmers Market, or to breakfast. Our personal home is just 5 minutes away (not in another city) so we are always available for questions, etc.

My stay at Sunset Terrace was full of beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The area is fairly secluded and quiet. The home is roomy and full of southern windows that allowed the desert sunshine to warm you while contemplating your day over coffee. I will recommend this to my friends, both couples and families alike.

A very comfortable, clean and cozy living space. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. The beds were top notch. The patio, especially, was a delight to sit in and soak up the desert vibes. We definitely would come back and highly recommend this property to others!

We loved staying at this house! It was clean, comfortable and well-stocked. Checking in and out was incredibly easy, and the location of the house was walking distance to shops, restaurants and bars. We spent most of our time in the backyard. Will definitely be back!

I stayed at the home with some old friends for a reunion; we had two small children with us. The house is lovely and very clean, all the amenities one would need are there for a relaxing stay. There was a lot of useful information about the Park available as well. The location is also perfect, just outside the West entrance of the park, a quick drive from the house. We enjoyed the hot-tub as well! I would highly recommend staying here!

My wife and I just spent a wonderfully serene week at Sunset Terrace. The place was spotless and had everything we might have needed for the perfect holiday. The hot tub was such a welcome treat after a hard day's hiking and it was lovely to see the garden visited by chipmunks, quail, numerous other birds and jackrabbits. It is the perfect base for visiting Joshua Tree National Park and surrounding areas, I wouldn't hesitate for a minute in recommending it to couples, groups or families.

We had a great time. The house had a really well stocked kitchen if you love to cook. Very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the patio and the jacuzzi!

Thank you so much for letting us experience your house. You have excellent taste in everything from fence design to dishes. We felt right at home. It was so great to sit on the patio in the morning and evenings. We loved cooking in the kitchen with every gadget we could need. This house really has everything to make a perfect weekend where all you need is a trip to the grocery store and some good sneakers. We loved hiking in the park and coming home to our Joshua Tree house away from home. We loved it!

We've only just arrived and I am quite impressed with the thought that has obviosly gone into making this an exceptional rental property...from Joshua Tree music in the cd case, "Eat, Pray Love" on the book shelf, lovely soft towels and linens, the hot tub ready to go (and a mortar and pestle!). Oh, and a rabbit just hopped through the back patio, thank you for that too!

First of all, I would like to comment on the house, what a treasure! Beautifully decorated, everything we needed to spend two wonderful days. We had a steak dinner to die for, with all the trimmings. Every time we said "I wonder if they have..." we found it, so thanks Christa for planning out everything a guest would need. This is our first trip to Joshua Tree, but not our last. Great memories!
