WOW! We had the most perfect vacation ever. This place is beautiful, and very well maintained. It has all the extras you will ever want or need. We were married in the backyard, and the setting was great! The owners and property manager were very helpful and informative about the property and the island. Thank you so much for sharing your home and island with us. We will always have great memories of it.

We just returned from two weeks at Seafan Meadows and really enjoyed this home...yes...home. We really felt at home in this beautiful three bedroom beach house. Very comfy and a great setting. The view was spectacular and the star gazing at night was absolutely beautiful. It was so relaxing to sit out by the pool and just stare into the sky and look for "falling stars". Yep...saw one! We could have explored for months and never seen all the movies, looked at all the books, played all the games or used all the kitchen tools. Everything was neat and very clean. We travel with another couple each year and the bedroom setup was very nice and private. There are basically two identical master suites on opposite sides of the back of the house each with a huge bathroom. Each bathroom had double sinks and a large open walk in shower. The third bedroom is in the front...again private...and a great set up for kids. These owners make sure that you have all the creature comforts. There is full cable TV with DVR and gaming consoles, a computer in the front bedroom and WiFi throughout the property, MagicJack telephone so you can call home and talk as long as you want. The kitchen is beyond anything we've ever encountered. Two huge refrigerators, gas range and oven, huge microwave and the infamous "spice drawer" filled with great spices. We will definitely be visiting again...thanks!!

We have visited Grand Cayman a number of times – but this was our first trip to the Brac. We loved it so much; we are already in the process of booking next year!! We stayed for two weeks with our two teenagers and two toddlers and all of us fell in love. The property: Amazing location, not a neighbor in sight and nothing but wide Caribbean views from the house. We did a lot of shore snorkeling, enjoyed the kayaks at the house and attempted some shore fishing. There were many characters on the property – curly tail lizards, hermit crabs, birds – the little kids really enjoyed their new friends! The pool was such a nice feature – we used it every day and the sun shade on top is a nice touch. There is plenty of outside seating and there is an outside dinner table which we used many times. The shore is rocky – bring water shoes – but there are other sandy areas to go on the island if you desire. There is also an outside fire pit to grill on and we had some delicious meals from that. The house: From the moment we walked in, we knew this was a very well taken care of home. The space was wonderful, really it has everything you would want and more! The DVD selection was great, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was very well stocked and with children, we loved having a washer/dryer. Cha-Che even got a pack n play for us – we really appreciated that! One of the items that we used and appreciated the most was the van – this is not normal on the Brac to have a car come with the house and this really helps save money on renting a car. The Island: There are many great places that we checked out on the island… caving, seeing the bluff and the lighthouse are "a must do". Public Beach and the beach in the West End are both sandy where we had fun snorkeling and swimming on the sandy beach. A few of us snorkeled out to the Russian wreck and swam down to touch it – scary, but fun!! The Brac Reef resort was great to eat some meals – we also went to Aunt Shay’s and had some Golden Jerk Chicken (amazing) and a family favorite which satisfied everyone was PoPo Jebb’s pizza where we had pizza followed by some great ice cream (reasonably priced). Everyone is so welcoming. Derwin was GREAT - he picked us up at the airport, took us fishing and lots more. Cha-che was great to work with – so responsive & when you come to her house, you will see she is very organized and puts a lot of time and thought into making this home perfect for you!

Spent a week at SeaFan Meadows in Jan. and it was beautiful. The home was way beyond our expectations. We fished out front, snorkeled and watch beautiful sunsets. Well equipped house which left nothing to be desired. Derwin was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to coming to the Brac again and staying here

My husband and I just returned from 6 days at Seafan Meadows on Cayman Brac. We were celebratinour 10th Wedding Anniversay ( we are in our mid 50's). We absolutely loved the peace and quiet of the island. The house, pool/patio and the gardens on the property are very beautiful and the ocean view is breath taking. The house is furnished with everything you could possibly need while you are there. I especially enjoyed the artwork that graces the walls of the house. We made good use of the pool and patio, as it was very hot, we did experience some residual effects from the hurricane that was passing through the Caribbean Islands ( thunder and rain storms) but it did not spoil our week. We sat on the patio with our Bloody Marys and watched the sunsets and gazed at the star filled sky at nite. We snorkeled out to the coral reef right off the beach. Derwin picked us up and delivered us back to the airport, he gave suggestions on grocery shopping and offered boat trips to Little Cayman. We got a real kick out of our daily visitors around the pool and patio, loved the "Curytail Lizards" and hermit crabs, they were very entertaining, though we never did see any iguanas or parrots. If you are in need of down time and want peace and quiet in a beautful setting, then Seafan Meadows is the place. Our only disappoinment with Cayman Brac was the lack of fresh seafood, we assumed on on island there would an abundance places to purchase fresh fish. Thanks Karl for letting us celebrate our anniversary in your beautiful home.

We have just returned from a week at Seafan Meadows and I can't find enough words to describe the time we had: peaceful, serene, magnificent, wonderful, etc. This was our first visit to the Brac, and although we had 3 teenage girls that would have preferred a little more action, the 4 parents enjoyed the laid back, restful week. Thank you Karl and ChaChe for sharing your lovely home with us. Although we didn't get to see Derwin much during the week, we did truly appreciate the time we were able to spend with him. The accomodations were more than nice! The kitchen was just perfect and the few "chefs" we had with us really enjoyed being able to concoct wonderful meals in the gourmet kitchen. We were lucky the weather was beautiful the entire week, with the exception of one really windy day which prohibited the snorkeling. Otherwise, we were able to snorkel right out back and took in the many wonderous sites. Being able to set our own pace during the week made it exactly what we had hoped. Either sitting in the pool, snorkeling around the reef, or adventuring around the island, we had lots of good fun! The most magnificent thing for me, however, was enjoying the sunsets and then watching the stars in the evening and the lightning off shore - we were fortunate on several evenings for nature to provide us our own fireworks show with the lightning and the shooting stars. The most disappointing thing was not seeing an iguana - but it was really, really hot the entire time we were on the island so I'm sure they were enjoying any cool spot they could find. If you are looking for a relaxing piece of paradise, Seafan Meadows is definitely a place to consider! We will be returning in the future!

We had such a wonderful stay at Seafan Meadows! We had a few friends join us and we decided to get married on the property at sunset! It was picture perfect and so memorable! With some suggestions from Karl, we were able to get a local resort to cater the wedding dinner, make a wedding cake and we enjoyed a firework display after the dinner. It was a day I will always cherish! Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We had a great time diving and snorkeling and kayaking! We found the local fishmonger and really enjoyed the local cuisine! We can't wait to visit again! Sincerely, The Thordsons of Virginia Beach VA

Karl, Larry and I just returned to a cold, rainy Washington state after two lovely weeks at Seafan Meadows. We had a great time. Your house and property are perfect. Everything - the gravel in the yard, the pool and shades, the BBQ, the beach, all the wonderful stuff in the kitchen, the fans in the bedrooms - it was just very easy to stay and hard to leave. The diving was great - many of the sites are as good or better as those in Little Cayman. Unfortunately, we didn't snorkel much because it was very windy for most of our stay. So we just had to hang around by the pool and beach and read - hmmmm.

My husband and I spent two fantastic weeks at Seafan Meadows May 8th through May 22nd. The house was wonderful, very comfortable, very well stocked with everything we needed, very private. The diving was great - we have dived at Little Cayman for the last ten years, and the diving at Cayman Brac is just as good. Very healthy coral and lots and lots of fish. We were so comfortable in the house that we ate out only once. We will definitely go back. Thanks, Karl, for sharing your house with us. Helen and Larry Buttress

We spent a week in early April at Sea Fan with our 5 and 6 year old boys. The house was comfortable, even luxurious. There were a lot of personal touches which helped it feel like home for a week. Cayman Brac is a wonderful gem of a little island. Friendly people everywhere you go. And there are lots of adventures to be had. Do not miss visiting Great Cave and the southeast shoreline, the sunrise from the lighthouse and the fish at Aunt Sha's. And be sure to have Derwin take you to visit Owen Island.

We had such a nice week on Cayman Brac! We were able to snorkel right off the shore where there is a shallow reef that is great for kids to snorkel. Then, the follow-up in the pool was great. Our three-year-old grandson loved it! The house was beautiful and inviting, with any amentity available. We were so fortunate to be able to spend the week in Karl's gorgeous beach house!

The homeowners are great to work with and extremely generous. Having the car with the house is an extra perk and was very convenient. Derwin was a great connection to the island history as well as helpful with any of our needs.

Karl- We had a fantastic time. First, your house is beautiful- the design and layout is very intelligent. The canopy over the pool, which I understand is a recent addition, is a great melding of form and function. That alone is a huge added value to the property as it enabled the kids and our au pair to play all day while we were out diving. Second, Derwin provided exemplary customer service and was very accommodating in adjusting to our schedule. He is a great personality who was never without an offer to help. I will echo what you already know: he's a very responsible and reliable person. As I told him at the airport upon our departure, I could come up with some complaints since that's what travelers do. But I'd be lying. Thank you for opening your house to us and those who visit the Brac. It's a very special place to us and your house really empowered us to enjoy it as much as ever. We will be back.

We stayed at Seafan Meadows in September 2009 and were thrilled with our accommodations! The owners were wonderful to deal with, and we were thrilled to meet Derwin, even though he wasn't on the island for the whole week. The snorkelling and diving right in front of the house was incredible! You definitely need reef shoes though, as there isn't much sand. The house was well laid out for our group of seven. We had one couple, one woman with an infant, and myself, my husband and two kids. The pool was a favorite of the kids, and we spent hours in it every day! We had fun touring around the island too - we did a couple of hikes, went to Brac Reef Divers for a day of diving, and the new Hotel Alexandria for their amazing BBQ on Tuesday night. There wasn't anything we needed that we didn't have in the house, and would highly recommend it to anyone! We only left four days ago, and we miss it already! Total relaxation!!! The description of the house was exactly as it was when we arrived, however the house looks far better in real life than it did in the photos!! The house was clean, and well looked after. We had a chance to meet Karl and thank him in person for the good service and for sharing his beautiful home with us.

Karl, I can't say enough about our great vacation to Brac and how the expectations we had going in were just totally exceeded, and our expectations were high. The house is amazing, the snorkeling is world class and the shade cover over the pool is genius. We had an adventure every day, whether it was exploring the bluff, eating out or shopping. We saw every sun rise and sunset.Derwin was great, very accommodating and helpful. The car had cold air and the boat had just enough splash coming in over the bow. We will definetly rebook for as soon as possible. All in all it is a great place, the people are wonderful, and it has never been harder to come back home.

Words can not express what a wonderful place Seafan Meadows is. We absolutely had the best holiday in Cayman Brac that we have had in years. After landing at the airport, we met Derwin Scott who picked us up and delivered us to the house. Derwin is a great guy who made our trip a lot more fun and very easy. He gave us plenty of information about the Brac and recommended several good restaurants. Derwin's suggestions about food, fun and activities proved to be perfect for us. We had a great day deep sea fishing with him while on other days, we just relaxed and toured the island. The house was also perfect for us as we were able to fish right on the beach and use the grill to cook what we caught. The pool was nice to have available but we had to make room for the blue heron that visited every morning. We could go on and on about how GREAT everything was but we will simply book our next trip in the very near future. Thank you again for such a lovely home and wonderful place to call home even for a week. Sincerely, Mike and Beth Stengel

We had the pleasure of staying at the Seafan for the week of April 18th. It was the perfect place to unwind and leave the real world behind. We loved sitting on the deck at night looking at the stars and listening to the sound of the ocean. The house is totally private and secluded, not a neighbour in sight. The interior is tastefully decorated, the kitchen is well equipped, all the dishes and utensils are high quality. The best part of every morning was waking up to the view of the ocean through the bedroom windows. I would highly recommend this rental, the owners and caretaker were very helpful and accomodating, we wouldn't hesitate in booking a return visit.

We spent 8 days at Seafan Meadows during the Easter break. It was our first time going to the Brac. This was our fourth rental from VRBO. Derwin picked us up from the airport (as well as returning us there), and made us feel welcome. He made sure we knew he was available should ANYTHING pop up. We enjoyed using the included car, as it made getting to the market, restaurants, and island exploring all the easier. The Brac continues to feel some of the pain from Hurricane Paloma, but that didn't dampen our spirits, as we were able to enjoy the pool, the sea, the house, and the island's caves. For a relaxing, recharging the batteries vacation, this is the place to be. The house is in great shape, with a well-appointed kitchen, stocked with all accessories and utensils one could possibly need. The owner has a very deep DVD collection consisting of old and quite new movies; we watched a flick each night. The 10,000 song music collection has everything from Reggae to Metal to Jazz to Classical. In summary, we had a great time, and owe it to having our base be Seafan Meadows. I recommend this home, especially if you desire a private, secluded experience in a wonderful home on the sea. The Blackmurs - Missouri - USA

WOW! We just returned from Sea Fan Meadows. Rented from March 19-28th, 2009. We are so grateful for Karl and Cha Che to open up their beautiful home. Derwin is the best! Had a great connection with him and he was so helpful. It was windy while we were there, so we didn't get a chance to go fishing or take advantage of the boat, but hope to next year. Enjoyed the pool everyday as well as everything else. The house is so spacious. The 10,000 cd's on the pc were a big hit! Kitchen was everything the listing stated and even more. So much more we are already booked for next year (2010). The car was another added bonus. Thanks again Karl & Cha Che, without your generosity we would not have experienced the Brac! Looking forward to next year for another exciting experience on the Brac.

One cannot ask for a more relaxing, comfortable, and, enjoyable place to vacation than Seafan Meadows on Cayman Brac. This house epitomizes the proper balance between form and function. The views are the stuff of postcards. The snorkeling in front of the house, and elsewhere on the beautiful island, is fantastic. The beds, the kitchen, the sound system, the Wii(!?!)--all nicer comforts than anyone will expect, but everyone will enjoy to the fullest. Derwin makes this vacation even more special. Everyone should be so lucky to have a guide like him at least once in their lives. I will remember our fishing outing and delicious meals to follow for the rest of mine. Truly wonderful. Many thanks. I would hit replay do it all over again tomorrow if I could!

He is definitely a positive asset to your rental and a very kind person. Derwin helped us with anything we needed or didn’t know about the island. We miss your beautiful sunsets by the pool and palm trees. Hopefully we will come again in the near future. We also enjoyed touring the entire island and the many caves. It was a wonderful experience thanks to the guide at the islands national park.

We recently returned from a most memorable vacation at Sea Fan Meadows, and in a word, "wow!" The house surpasses the images as seen online and when the weather is right, there is nothing more right! Luxurious is a perfect descriptor for the property. With the combo of house, car, and now, access to a captained boat - there is no better deal in the entire island! We had such a wonderful time staying at your beautiful house, but also exploring the amazing and resilient island that is Cayman Brac. It's been said before, but Derwin was a wonderful and fully unexpected addition to the whole experience. Not only incredibly helpful, but incredibly knowledgeable and down to earth: the right kind of person! Thanks for the fishing Derwin - I can still taste that tuna... and now nothing else tastes quite the same.

He went out of his way to help us when needed, and was friendly enough to demonstrate some fishing and talk to us about the island. Hope to talk to you soon in the coming years! Chip Garbe

Seafan Meadows was selected from all of the villas on Cayman Brac to host the executives of Chowder, Inc., the production company creating the full-length feature film "Cayman Went." Not only that, but "the final, climactic scene" was shot in Seafan Meadows! Below are the comments of the managing partner of Chowder, Inc.: Karl, Your home was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Can't thank you enough for sharing it with me and the production of Cayman Went. Although, truth be told, I didn't spend a ton of time there because of the freneticism of our schedule, it's the perfect place to unwind...a point I will be making to all my friends at DOT (Dept. of Tourism) when next I see them. Also, if you're at all interested, I'd love to speak with you about personally renting your home next time I bring my family to the Brac (possibly June). Can't think of a better way to introduce my son (10) and daughter (13) to the island I now consider a second home. In the interim, in case you didn't see it, here's a link to the article Nicky Watson wrote for The Bracker last week. The featured photo is of the film's final, climactic scene on island. I think you'll recognize the location:) caymannetnews dot com (Archive - Feb. 29, 2008 - scroll to BRACKER & LITTLE CAYMANIAN - click The movie that 'came and went') I'll be in touch as we move further down the editorial process and I have more to share with you. Thanks again, my friend. Jim Jim Ritterhoff Chowder, Inc.
