  This cottage is perfect for any type of getaway. We recently rented the cottage for a girls getaway and could not have been happier. It's located just a few miles from in town which is amazing. Close to shops, restaurants, wine tours, wineries etc. The restaurants in town are all delicious. The people are so happy and friendly. We loved Healdsburg! We rented a car to tour the country side which was exactly what we wanted to do. However, a cab ride into town was under $15. The cottage is set in a secluded mountain setting overlooking wineries. We loved having our morning coffee on the porch listening to the birds sing. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The owner (Hildy) was a doll. She was prompt to respond to our email inquiry and any additional questions we had before arrival. When we arrived she showed us to the cottage and provided us with all the information we needed about the area. The cottage is split into two levels which can be rented separately. The upstairs has a vintage eclectic feel to it, while the downstairs is more modern. Both were decorated tastefully and everything was very clean. We used both levels and loved all the extra space the downstairs provided. Everything you need to cook is provided for you. There's even a grill outside if you're into grilling! If you are lucky enough to stay at Hildy's place you will love it. We were so pleased and cannot wait to go back and stay again! It's a must see!

  This is by far one of the nicest VRBO experiences we've had as a family. This is a wonderful one bedroom that can easily sleep a couple and children (the loft over the kitchen/bath has a big bed) or two couples. We visited with our son and family, our grandaughter loved the loft for play and spying on all of us from above! The owners had recently completed a beautiful second bedroom suite downstairs, which was fully equipped for morning coffee and quiet rest, so it was a perfect place for an inter-generational family gathering. The outdoor space is fabulous, with a spacious deck and stunning views to the east of mountains and vineyards. Indoors we enjoyed the thoughtful, eclectic design, that was filled with a fun mix of mid-century modern goodies, rescued tools, and fossils. About ten minutes from downtown Healdsburg, this place is the perfect wine country vacation rental. I give it my highest possible recommendation.

  We were fortunate enough to be able to return to this cottage for a few days while driving the West Coast. We had previously stayed at the cottage in 2009 and had been excited about making a return visit. We were not disappointed! The cottage remains the secluded, private retreat that we valued on our last trip. It is filled unique artwork, interesting antiques and a view of the hillside vineyards that cannot be matched. Since our last trip, there have been several updates to the bath and bedroom making the cottage even more comfortable. We personally enjoy all of the music that is at the cottage to enjoy. Sitting outside while listening to great music over a bottle of wine proved to be a perfect end to a day. We have used VRBO several years both here and abroad and have never found a better, more friendly host than Hildy. She makes you feel welcome and enjoys the fact that you will enjoy her property. We are now left looking forward to next stay at the cottage.

  The cabin was so cozy and super cute. It was quiet and secluded and yet very close to downtown. We look forward to coming back in the Spring.

  This is our second year at Hildy's cottage retreat. Once again, it met all expectations and then some. If you are looking for a quiet retreat that is only minutes away from great wine, this is it. I especially love an early morning hike around the mountain and coming back to have coffee overlooking the vineyards of Healdsburg. Thanks for being such a great host Hildy - see you next year!

  Our review is also very long overdue. We stayed here after our wedding last September, and it was exactly what we needed! When we weren't walking to the river with our dogs, enjoying the sunny deck, or hiking nearby, we curled up on the couch, read, sipped wine, and listened to music non stop. We loved all of the eclectic touches, the bbq, decks, and the very comfortable bed. We actually went canoeing with our dogs one of the days with a local pet friendly outfit and we know we will have those memories forever. Any rough day at work leaves me daydreaming of the cottage and the view of the winery in the distance. Hildy was very responsive as we were planning, and showed us all we needed to know about the cottage before she was on her way. We cannot wait to schedule our next trip!

  this review is LONG overdue - i stayed here in October 2010 and absolutely loved every little detail of the cabin. I write this review now because I'm looking at visiting again this year. Despite the weather being rainy and chilly for most of our stay, the cabin was warm and cozy. We might have even been thankful for the rain, as it was a good excuse to enjoy the coziness. There is an insane music collection, super comfy bed, well stocked functional kitchen for cooking oatmeal and french press coffee, a wonderful fireplace and plenty of wood. And the place is clean and very well maintained, it immediately feels like home (and thats coming from a slightly obsessive clean freak). Hildy is so sweet and accommodating. A vacation to Sonoma County will never be the same without a stay at the cabin. Its now an integral part of the vacation. Thanks Hildy!!

  Hildy has a terrific place. Very tastefully decorated, amazing collection of records- 60's, 70's, & 80's Rock, Blues & Jazz. We loved hiking up nearby Fitch Mountain, also down to the river which was super easy & accessible. Our dog loved it all, including being lazy on the sunny deck. We look forward to booking another weekend, MAYBE this time we'll bring our kids. Thanks again Hildy.

  We looked a long time before choosing Hildy's cabin and we were not disappointed! We were looking for a great place for an extra stay before a friends wedding where our dogs would be welcome and comfortable. I'm sad we only had 3 days....Hildy was very helpful with suggestions on where to tale our dogs to play and run and where in town we could eat that were dog friendly. The views from the patio are beautiful; I wish we had more time to spend enjoying the deck area and the view. The cabin is quaint and perfect for a couple, but the mini loft makes it possible for four people to enjoy. The kitchen is well stocked thus cooking or barbecuing is easy. We will definitely be returning again in the future.
