  Stayed in the rear condo away from the pool, found it to be quite, clean and tidy and comfortable almost a home from home. Enjoyed our stay very much, good choice of bars/restaurants and shops within easy walking distance, great beach behind the holiday inn, state park is a short drive (go by trolley) great beach walking. Only issue we had was they shut the pool for refurbishment so we were unable to use it. However it is a fantastic pool, very family friendly. All being well we will return in 2013.   The exterior of this property (4-storey apartment complex) was a little unprepossessing, but the apartment itself was very nice - clean, pleasant decor, nice layout and very satisfactory amenities. We liked the fact that it is on the quiet end of Fort Myers Beach, away from the frequent traffic jams at the north end. Nice beaches are a 15-minute walk away. Supermarkets are not too far away which we found good for self-catering. The only downsides we noted to the apartment were that the water was turned off to the entire apartment on our arrival. We had to figure out how to turn it on. Also, the hot water tank was turned off and this required a call to the owner to ask how to turn it on. It would have been nice if we had been provided with 3 dishwasher detergent capsules instead of just 1. Overall, it seems that the maintenance company is trying to economize to the point of inconveniencing us; but just a small amount of extra effort on their part would have avoided this.

  Owner response: I really don't know why the water and hot water heater were turned off. Evidently the building maintenance team had been in the unit and turned them off for some reason and forgot to turn them back on. I personally had been in the condo the week prior, and when I left they were on. I apologize for the inconvenience.

  The best part of the island to stay on. Within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and a drugstore. Much more relaxed than the north end by the pier. This was our 4th year at Santa Maria, the 1st yr. in this unit, but would definitely return. Just a short walk to the beach, and this complex has a GREAT pool.

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, tourists without a car.

  Just a great place to stay on Ft. Myers Beach! This was our 4th time here at Santa Maria and it will always be our favorite. First time in this unit, but would definitely return. More quiet part of the island with plenty of places to eat and shop within walking distance. GREAT POOL!

  Everyone had a great time vacationing at Ft. Myers Beach! The condo was just great--clean and well-maintained. The listing description was very accurate and the pictures showed it exactly the way it appeared when we walked in. The owner was extremely helpful in answering all questions. I would recommend lots of beach time and dining at Coconut Jack's and Charley's Boathouse. I would definitely recommend this property to everyone!!

  My family stayed here in May 2010. We loved it. The accommodation was perfect, everything was in good condition. Communication with the owner was prompt and exactly how it should be. We have travelled to Santa Maria Resort several times before and just love the relaxed atmosphere. The Resort is kept to a high standard, the pool is exceptional. This is truely a gem. We tolerate six months of abysmal English weather with the knowledge that we will return to our special place for a couple of weeks whenever we can..

  Condo is located at the south end of Ft. Myers Beach away from all the action on the north end, but getting there is an easy drive or trolley ride. Ideal for the 40+ crowd and some families. Comfortable furniture and spacious baths. Great pool (no kiddie area) and grills for cookouts. Close to Lovers Key Park and beach. Public golf course adjacent. Good area for walks. I wish the condo had Internet, but a nearby cafe offers free WiFi. Owner was very professional and nice.

  The building was very quite an peaceful. No loud music or partying kids. Nice to have a full kitchen and dining room. Was able to save money by not having to go out to eat every meal. Very convenient to the beach. Only about a 3 block walk. Bed was comfortable and the condo was clean. Decor could use to be updated but a very good value for the price. Would stay there again.

  Owner response: The condo was redecorated in May 2011. I put in new carpeting, new hardwood flooring and new furniture. The "purple" is gone. Hooray!

  This condo was very roomey and allowed for a very relaxing time for two 50+ couples. The ONLY reason I could not rate this unit as a 5+ is due to its location to the beach. We tried to walk from the unit and was not able to reach the gulf due to the barrier island. NOW the pool was just great and the hot tubs really felt good on the old bones. Words can not explain how clean and neat our unit was as well as the grounds in this complex. One can tell this is not a new condo but you can tell it has been well maintained. Would I go back? YES! I have told several people about this unit and have recommended it highly to anyone looking at going to Ft Myers Beach, FL. Several restaurants are within walking distance which made it very nice for an evening stroll.
