Rochambeau Lodge is a handsome, renovated barn nestled in a spectacular working orchard on the outskirts of Walpole, New Hampshire -- one of the loveliest villges in New England -- within sight of the Connecticut River, the Green Mountains, and, to the northwest, Mount Ascutney.
The rustic wood-paneled lodge has comfortable country furnishings and a woodstove, as well as 8 bedrooms that sleep up to 16 guests, a huge yet cozy living room and a dining area that seats 12, a fully-equipped kitchen, a large sauna and 2 1/2 baths. It is available year-round for one-party groups such as family gatherings, weddings, ski holidays, school reunions and hunting parties.
Beyond the beauty of the orchard, there are hundreds of acres of woods and fields, plus two large spring-fed ponds for boating, swimming, fishing and skating. The property features trails for hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. For downhill skiers, Okemo is less than one hour away. And for snowmobilers, NH Corrider 5 traverses Alyson's Orchard.
