ON TOP OF OLD HEAVENLY ALL COVERED WITH SNOW, AWAY GOES THE TENSION THE MOMENT YOU GO.
Nestled among tall pines and grand boulders, TFP looks out at the south end of Lake Tahoe. Breathtaking views are the the most remarkable feature at The Fire Place.
This charming 1250 square foot townhome is decorated in FIREHOUSE THEME and is just minutes away from 2 Heavenly ski lifts, BOULDER and STAGECOACH. Put the kids in ski school and ski across to the CA side.
7 minute drive down to lake level, casinos, restaurants and entertainment.
The Fire Place is ideal for one or two families plus kids. Sleeps 4 in beds, 1 on sofa and kids on air mattresses or sleeping bags in the loft.
UPSTAIRS: two bedrooms, a queen bed in each bedroom, a small loft in one bedroom fits 3-4 kids in sleeping bags, a full bath between, and a washer/dryer.
DOWNSTAIRS: a well equipped kitchen, breakfast bar, half bath, living room, a beautiful new porcelein enamel simulated wood-burning stove, a new sofa, 2 leather recliners, a fire-patch collection, a BBQ, table & chairs on the deck
DAVE and SUE WRITE, 'I just wanted to let you know how much we loved staying at The Fire Place. The view was absolutely beautiful. Even though Dave's not a fireman's we thought the decor was so neat and creative. It really adds to the condo. We appreciated all of the instructions and little signs throughout the condo, too. You've anticipated any questions that anyone might have. In addition, all of the cleaning supplies made cleaning up so easy. Everything was great; we wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for letting some non-firefighters use and enjoy your vacation home. Sincerely, Sue and Dave.'
THE FIRE PLACE is in a quiet, secluded part of South Lake Tahoe; private while being a short drive away from many other venues of entertainment. Around the corner is our favorite sports pub, THE FOX & HOUND (great pizza and beer!) and a small convenience store. Reno Airport is one hour away, other good skiing areas are 30-60 minutes away. DAVID WALLY'S HOT SPRINGS SPA, a five star resort built around natural hotspring pools, steam baths, sauna, message and a fabulous restaurant is down on Genoa Hwy, the valley side of the mountain.
KITCHEN AMENITITES: dishwasher, microwave, crockpot, blender, glassware, dishes, cookware and utensils. Food is served on a kitchen bar or TV trays. A bird feeder right outside the kitchen window lets you watch little and sometimes big critters, first hand. We have seen bears, racoons, squirrels and birds. Bring birdseed and a sense of adventure.
NORA WRITES, 'We enjoyed staying at The Fire Place so much! It's beautiful - just exactly the way it's described on the web-site. I am a travel agent and we've seen many places where that is not the case, so we were pleasantly surprised.'

This is a absolutely charming townhome. Well furnished and beautifully decorated. Spacious but cozy with a great view of the mountains. Kitchen is well equipped and all the drawers and cabinets are labeled for your convenience. Warm and comfortable, perfect place to relax after a day of snowboarding on the slopes. The owners were an absolute pleasure to deal with and very understanding when we needed a little help to find the house arriving late at night. The only hiccup to our otherwise great weekend was that the power went out on the second morning so we woke up a little chilly. But that's not the fault of the owners or the townhouse. Would not hesitate to book this place again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

The place was great, had all the amenities we could need along with a gorgeous view of the lake. Located within 10 minutes of most places in South Tahoe and 30-40 minutes from great hiking. It was also the most affordable accommodation in the area and the owners were VERY easy to work withRecommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Part of our family (3 adults, 2 children) spent a mini vacation and had a wonderful time! Took my nieces, age 6 and 9, to nearby Carson River and Blue Lake. They would later ask when we would be going back to the "house". They loved playing/sleeping in the loft. Perfect size for us, and the entire townhome had everything we needed (well-equipped kitchen, bedrooms, etc). We sat out on the deck enjoying the view of the lake, then took a short walk around the neighborhood. I thank Barbie for making the reservation process/check-out process so seamless. Thank you again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you Ethel, for a wonderful review. How kind you are and how much I appreciate having wonderful guests like you. Barbie

What a wonderful home! The pictures don't do justice to the incredible view, not only of the lake, but of the Gardnerville area to the East. We had a glorious time in your cozy, well equiped home! The reservation process and personal contact were also very nice and appreciated. We will definitely be back and hopefully get to stay longer than 2 nights. Thank you!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Michela, Thank you so much for your kind review. It warms our hearts to know how much people like you appreciate the accomodations. Barbie

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1993
About the owner: Barbie and Jim Nellesen have owned this cabin since 1991. Jim is retired from a 33 year career as a Fire Captain with the Anaheim Fire Department. We raised our family vacationing in Tahoe and the kids have great memories. We come up twice a year now to spruce up the place. We got the inspiration to create the cabin with fire decor because of Jim's fire career. We sure do enjoy meeting all the wonderful people who come to stay at THE FIRE PLACE. That's the best part.
Why the Owner Chose Stateline:
Barbie says, 'When I saw the view, I told the Captain that this was the place for us.'
The views are brreathtaking and they always thrill us no matter how many times we see them. We fall in love with the place every time we come. Watching from our deck is a panorama of seasons, weather, nights, days and a variety of animals. It's really awesome. You actually can feel the tension leaving your body about the 3rd day.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
It's very private and quiet. No one can see into your place from any other place around. It is totally supplied with everything that you will need to be comfortable. The grounds around are very rugged and natural. It's beautiful.
