Hale HaHa was amazing, our family of 6 enjoyed every minute. Great beach toys for our daughters 4 and 2, and fun surf toys for us and our son (19) The bikes available to bike or walk into town or walk to the beach for an evening stroll. The beds are extremely comfortable as well which makes for great rest on vacation! The covered lanai was where we spent most our time at the house, very comfortable and relaxing while our youngest was napping! Thank you so much for a great vacation Susan! Until next time! Hale HaHa is the most wonderful home away from home. The space is so well stocked with everything you need for beach life. Bikes, boogie boards, basketball, ping pong table, sarongs, beach towels are only a few of the amenities that made life there sweet. The kitchen is well equipped with everything for health and fun. The lanai is super dialed in with amazingly comfortable and luxurious punee style couches. The atmosphere is super vibey, with great art and up to date electronic equipment. I just spent a lovely week there with 8 friends and the house was a perfect fit for couples and singles and all. I highly recommend this lovely vacation spot, of the beaten track but right in the heart of Hanalei.

What a truly wonderful home to stay in. This home is ideal for all types, but i would highly recommend this place for anyone with younger children. The owner has done a great job of providing anything you would need, from pack a play cribs, to various high chairs for eating, plastic cups, sunscreen, life jackets, rafts, beach chairs, golf clubs, and so much more. The main feature of the house is the extra large screened in porch. The owner has totally dialed in this room with day beds in each corner and there is even LED lighting to add a nice evening light. You can hear the ocean on most nights from the porch, and there is enough room for everyone to find there own special place. Not much downside to say about this house, the main thing is you are dealing with Susan, who lives right in town. We had a hot water issue and the problem was resolved within the first 24 hours of making the call. She is amazing and provides anything you need to make your stay truly special....

This was our second stay at Hale Haha and we will continue to go back. The house is ideally located, as you can walk or bike to beach or town. Great for kids, with ping-pong and art studio, and tons of bikes and beach gear, toys etc. You really save money on not having to rent all that stuff. Beds are super comfy with nice sheets and memory foam mattresses. I love the outdoor shower, and tons of daybeds on the lanais for naps and lounging. The 2 master suites with kitchenettes make it perfect for 2 families or groups. We love it!!!

We just came back from staying at the Haha Hale for two weeks. The 7 of use stayed in four of the five bedrooms. The pictures almost don't do the house justice. It is a lovingly cared for and well maintained house. Susan, the owner, has thoughtfully included everything! Next time I will bring just clothes and a pair of sandals! Our three kids enjoyed the ample supply of boogie boards and ping pong table. I loved coming back from the beach, a block away, and shower outside in the warm sun. We walked to town. Seeing Hanalei Bay in the sunrise, middle of the day, at dusk and swimming in it's warm waters is like paradise. Truly amazing place. Mahalo for everything, Susan! You are a most wonderful host. We will be back.

Even before we actually arrived, we already felt welcomed by the friendly and prompt responses by the owner, but that was a mere prelude to what wonderful-ness we would find once in heavenly Hanalei at Hale Ha Ha. We took over the entire house for our son's wedding, and found it not only housed everyone comfortably with 5 bedrooms/4 baths, but we all absolutely loved every single thing about the house; inside and out. The decor is eclectic in a tropical surfer artistic way, yet has every modern amenity and lovely beds and bedding. This is not your typical vacation rental, with generic furnishings and artwork...this is a wonderful, warm and welcoming environment that feels like visiting a friends home. Although the wedding was large, and guests were staying in other rentals and hotels, Hale Ha Ha became the gathering place of choice. The house lends itself to entertaining due to the large screened in lanai and big dining table. The owner(s) take such loving care of the property and their guests and it is stocked with everything you could hope to find for beach activities and fun including bikes, an art area, outdoor shower and ping pong table . The location is wonderful and there is room to park several cars. And the views of the mountains and waterfalls make this the perfect respite and retreat. Overall one of the best vacation rentals one could ever hope to find...and indeed it is a find! .

This was a wonderful place for all of my family to stay - kids, wife, mom and step-dad, brother and his family. There was everything you could possibly need for all ages - beach toys, bikes, well stocked book shelf, comfortable couches everywhere, craft room, every kitchen amenity such as juicer, coffee grinder, grill, dvd player, etc.. It was also in a wonderful location - couple blocks from the beach, couple blocks to town, and right by the weekly farmer's market. Hanalei is beautiful and I hope to return at some point (rather sooner than later).

Within minutes of our arrival, 4 generations of family members felt welcome, relaxed and excited for a most precious week together. The home offers plenty of space for everyone to spend time doing what they enjoy. Being so centrally located, our activities included daily surfing and biking, paddle boarding, helicopter tours, beachcombing, lounging, reading, football playoff games, cocktails, great mealtimes, scrabble and card games, shopping, ping pong, local farmer's market days, and worship service at the historic and beautiful Wai oli Hui ia Church, just one short block from home. Hanalei is a friendly little town with all the necessary conveniences, plus a familiar chorus of roosters to remind us that this is a lush agricultural paradise. Our stay at Hale Ha Ha was collectively comfortable and very well-provisioned. Largely because of the homestead, we felt transformed from island visitors to delighted part of the scenery. Particular thanks to Susan for her attentive and professional care over our needs,..... from ages one to eighty-five, we would have eagerly spent another week. Mahalo.

My husband to be and I chose "Hale Ha Ha" as our family destination house in Hanalei this past year. What we found was a beautiful home to retreat and relax in, in preparation for our wedding day. The house has a gracious, covered lanai that we all would gather in for big family dinners and laughs..it was perfect. Just a quick walk to the beach, the house is thoughtfully stocked with all you need...surfboards,body boards, bikes and so much more! We especially loved the ping pong table! What worked really well for our large group is that there are separate suites available (in addition to the other bedrooms,in the same house), that provided just a little more privacy for my sister and her small family and my husbands parents. This home is meant for great times and we had them! We can not wait to come back and visit with the beautiful island of kauai and Hale Ha Ha O Hanalei!

Beach chairs, bikes, boogie boards, beach mats and towels, outdoor shower, ping pong table, rocking chairs, lovely herb garden, flat screen, cd player, games, books etc. Airy living space. Beautiful covered/screened porch was comfortable for lounging, sleeping, dining and reading!
Owner response:...we also have shampoo, conditioner, soap, bug spray & sunscreen. The "Play Room" has lots of art & craft supplies, & there is baby furniture & bikes w/child seat. We try to think of all your needs.

This is an absolutely lovely rental and perfect for a gathering of several families. The house is extremely well maintained, very well appointed, and simply welcoming - so much that we found ourselves relaxing around the house much more than expected. Every need is provided for. The layout offers plenty of privacy for each family and a central gathering area for dining and discussing the day's adventures. The kitchen is set up well for cooking big family meals. The pictures really do not do justice to this very, very spacious and relaxing home. For the price, simply one of the best rental homes we've come across. Two big highlights from our trip to the Hanalei area was a snorkel cruise to the Na Pali Coast (go for the smaller, faster boat - our 5 year old did fine) and golfing the Prince course up the hill in Princeville. For the latter, set an afternoon tee time and you may very well have the whole course to yourselves.

Hale Ha Ha is like a dream home away from home!! The moment your bags are unpacked, you literally feel like it's your home. Not only is it thoughtfully stocked with all the items you'll need for a perfect vacation (i.e. bikes, beach bags, games, arts and crafts, boogie boards..you name it), but it blessed with an amazing energy and groovy decorative accents. There's even a herb garden where you pick fresh basil and chives!!! My family has had so many fond memories at Hale Ha Ha and it is dear to our hearts! We highly recommend staying there and enjoying it's beautiful house and perfect location (we almost never use our car when we are there since you can walk to the beach and town). A+ vacation spot for those who want to feel like they live on the island!!! It's a spot that will make you want to reevaluate life and wonder why the heck you don't just live there!!

We had such a blast in Hanalei. It's hard to believe we were even there with it being so far away and so incredibly different from where we are now. What an experience... my favorite moment was biking on the beach at night. I think we nearly had the bay to ourselves. It was surreal. Thank you for sharing your place with us.

We had a fabulous time. Words cannot say enough. When we wanted to stay longer, we looked at other vacation homes in hanalei, but Hale Ha Ha has spoiled us! We could find nothing to compare to the open, spacious screened porch and all those comfortable areas to lounge around and look at the mountains. It was the cleanest place we saw also. Thank you for such a great stay.

What a great time we had at Hale Ha Ha. The house was spacious and very clean which our whole family appreciated! The two separate, but together, studios gave our older children a little more privacy. Susan, I have never been to a vacation rental that had such a well stocked kitchen, what a joy for a cook like me. We are starting to plan next year's family reunion and can't wit to come back to Hanalei Bay and stay at your lovely home thanks again for all that you did for us Sincerely Berylie O'Brien p.s. the flowers in the house were BEAUTIFUL!

Friends and family gathered at this wonderful home as a surprise for my husband's 50th for a whole week. It was the perfect home for a group of people, adults and kids alike, and we all enjoyed all that it had to offer. We loved the fact that it had many places to gather inside and outside the home and all the great amenities that the owners provided like bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards and ice chests. And there's even an outside shower and craft room for the kids. The 2 master suites are amazingly large and spacious and we appreciated all the of welcoming details like the fresh flowers that were provided. And the location is perfect. You can easily walk to the heart of town where all the shops and restaurants are, it's 2 doors away from where the weekly farmers market is held and it's a quick bike ride down to the pier. We loved it and will absolutely be back!!!!

Our family had a wonderful time at Hale Ha Ha. The house is comfortable and welcoming - the reality was much better even than the pictures, which was a wonderful surprise to us. Too often, in my experience, it happens the other way around, but Hale Ha Ha exceeded our expectations. As soon as we walked in, we could tell how clean and well-prepared the house was. The vases overflowed with tropicals (i learned later that these were from the owner's gardens) and everything was shiny-clean. We found it was well-stocked with a lot of extra amenities like bath supplies, laundry detergent and a water filter, which saved us from having to buy expensive bottled water. Each room had sarongs provided - i guess that is the tropical equivalent of a bathrobe! The kids loved playing ping pong, riding the bikes, trying out the boogie boards and exploring the art supplies. We have fond memories of sitting on the giant screened lanai, eating dinner and hanging-out as the sun set over the peaceful Hanalei mountains. The layout of the house also worked well for our family gathering - the grown-ups got to stay in the cedar-lined suites, which are quite roomy and just separated enough from the kids' rooms to give everyone a little space. The location is very close to everything in Hanalei, yet tucked away off the quiet street, making it a great place for our kids to play outside. The owner, who lives nearby and is an old-time Hanalei resident, was very helpful and responsive when we needed a different size bike and when we had questions about local activities. She also called right back when we had a little trouble with the barbecue and solved the problem immediately. I would highly recommend this house for any family looking for a good deal on a unique and lovingly-tended house in Hanalei.

I am not exaggerating when I say My husband and I had a flawless stay here. We actually stayed in two of their suites over our 10 day visit. Both had great views, light, comfortable linens and adequately stocked mini kitchens. The place as a whole had all of the extra's we wanted. bikes to grab and go, beach equipment, games, outdoor showers, laundry facilities etc. The grounds had obviously been given a lot of personal care and creative attention. In fact that may be the best word to describe the place, personal. If you are looking for a big hotel feel this is far form the place. We wanted a quiet private place where we could drop into the vibe of the town and this couldn't have been better. It is a close block walk to the beach which we found ourselves making at sunrise before plopping lazily back into bed and the main Hanalei drag and pier is a short bike ride away. SImple, easy, everything you need. We are hoping to return this Spring with our extended family ages 8 to 90. to take over the place!

I stayed in the Mountain Suite for four nights. The space is very comfortable and was lacking nothing. So much so that even with all the gorgeous surrounding sites I found myself having trouble leaving the apartment! It’s a really relaxing, well planned space. Hardwood floors, large windows with wonderful views, comfortable bed and wireless internet. Susan was very accommodating and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Hanalei.
