This is a cozy, charmed, and comfortable home with thoughtful touches, so that you will feel the same while visiting. Nestled between the Big Sky and Moonlight Basin ski areas, it provides easy access to both. From the kitchen and living area, or from the hot tub below, are fabulous and unobstructed views of the Spanish Peaks.
The home is decorated Montana style, with a western touch, a bit of winter ski flavor thrown in, and echoes of Lone Peak. Nicely upscale, but not too over the top, inviting you to relax and settle in.
The kitchen is fully stocked with an ice maker, a gas range, and ample cooking and eating gear. Swivel stools at the kitchen bar allow for gabbing with the cook/s, or for gawking at the Spanish Peaks. The master bedroom features a king bed, a full bath, a walk-in closet, and a cozy nook for lounging or reading, or for that extra person to sleep. In one of the lower level bedrooms is a queen bed, in the other a regular bed down/twin bed up bunk bed. Off of the bunk bed room is the lower deck with the hot tub, and views to the Spanish Peaks and down the valley. The lower bedrooms share a bath. There is also a washer and dryer, and an ironing board and iron (I know you will want that!).
It is a short walk to the Moonlight Lodge, one of the most spectacular in the West. The lodge features an excellent fine dining restaurant, a sandwich place for lunching and snacking, a fine selection of bottled wines, a bar for apres ski or later, outdoor decks, spots to sit by the fires, or to lounge and read or chat while enjoying the views, and for an extra fee, access to an outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness area, and spa. The views are stunning from virtually everywhere in the lodge. It is a 10 minute drive down the mountain to Big Sky village, or there is a shuttle available if you prefer. |
