The condo is right on the beach so we could run out to the beach when the rain stopped and the sun came out. The complex is quiet and has a nice old Hawaii feel to it. The condo is located conveniently close to Lahaina without being in the center of too much activity. We had four generations staying here and the four bedrooms worked well for all. We highly recommend this place!

We travel to Hawaii with family and/or friends each year and it is always an amazing journey and an wonderful experience with our kids. This condo had great views of whales, the ocean, and sunsets, but seems to be geared toward adults........not small children. Our boys love to swim in the ocean and surf the waves. They had a good time at this condo (and, of course, in the ocean) despite the fact that they were not allowed to play games like soccer and nerf football in the grass in front or to the side of the condo. Also, there is no laundry (i.e. washer or dryer) anywhere near the unit. The renter needs to walk all the way to the 'clubhouse' (several hundred yards away at the very least) and pay to do their own laundry. Not really what anyone would like to be doing while on vacation. We must have overlooked the fact that this unit does not have laundry facilities in it when we initially booked it. Our kids were reprimanded by security for playing an innocent game of soccer in the grass (there are rules about this in the rule-book of this gated community) while the neighbors next to us were allowed, night after night, to have their deck lights blazing so bright that we couldn't even enjoy the stars (there are also rules about this in the rule-book, but for some reason, security didn't say anything to our neighbors.) This unit is overpriced. Also, the 'path' to town is not a path at all, but just a walk along a fairly busy road. It's a longer walk than indicated on the advertisement. We believe that it was a misrepresentation in the description of the property to claim a short walk on a path to town. If you have kids, we suggest looking elsewhere for your family vacation. If you decide on this unit for the beauty and close proximity to the beach, just know that there are a plethora of rules and regulations associated with this unit. It made for a bit too much stress during our vacation. Plan on keeping kids down at the beach nearly all day, every day so that they won't disrupt the rules of the condo. That's what we did, and luckily our kids love to be on the beach the majority of the time. We have had many family vacations on Maui and on the other Hawaiian Islands. We have always had a great time. Our opinion is that his unit is perfect for adults who don't have children.

Owner response:I am happy to hear the boys had a good time. I believe the history of the many guest comments of my home speak for themselves;all positive reviews and all recommending young children. The large lawn areas by the beach are great for play for all ages. There is also a bocce ball, tennis court, badminton area and playground as well as 3 swimming pools, one specifically for young children. The rules are not to discourage playing games like soccer and football but to be aware of other guests. Puamana is a pleasant and fun residential community filled with families and children of all ages. The rules, like any community, resort, hotel, etc. are necessary to assure everyone's comfort. When children get too loud, or play in the common areas with disregard for the other guests, it is great to have security there to confirm everyone's safety and comfort. I am sorry the guest did not discover the laundry area just across the path from my home by the Dolphin pool. No worries!

Quiet and Relaxing

My family has been staying at Puamana for 25 years and we have come to love the peacefulness and quiet beauty of the development. It has become our "home away from home". This was our first stay at 136-1 and we had plenty of room for 6 family members. With 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, we had an abundance of room without crowding. The entire condo was very comfortably furnished with the exception of the lanai. Our family, ranging in age from 55 -88 yrs old, spends the majority of our day enjoying whale watching from the lanai. Unfortunately, without any padding on the plastic chairs we found that our enjoyment of the lanai was disappointing. In comparison to such a well appointed interior, the plastic table and chairs on the lanai were sadly lacking. All of that said, we had a wonderful trip and will continue to come back to Maui and Puamana for our winter break from the snow.

Owner response:My home is steps from the ocean as you can see from this review. As a consequence things rust very quickly, especially lanai furniture. I only expect the best for my guests with 5 full chaise lounges with plastic straps for adjustable reclining and 8 dining chairs with a table large enough to accommodate comfortable outside eating and 2 additional high back chairs with soft,colorful pads. With this my guests are afforded relaxing outdoor living with amazing views and palm trees for shade,not to mention the freedom to sit on the furniture with wet swimsuits. The lanai also stretches out to the large green grass area by the ocean, suitable for play, reading, BBQing and sunbathing. Maui No Kai Oi!

Great place to spend a family vacation. You can't get closer to the ocean. The house is beautiful and well stocked with anything you might need. Good luck putting the family cooks to work with so many great restaurants a walk or short drive away. We enjoyed Lahaina. We like to dive and play golf. Lahaina Divers is 1st class and there is lots of golf to choose from. We also spent a day at Piioholo zip line for a fun and memorable day. We enjoyed our visit and plan to return! The owner was great and was happy to help or answer any questions that arose. We would recommend this property!

We had a wonderful week with our family. The place was perfect....an ideal location with a beautiful sandy beach directly in front! We loved the fact that it was a short walk into Lahaina. The kids enjoyed the tennis, badminton and bacci ball available by the clubhouse..I would definitely recommend this to friends and family. We will be back!!!!!!

We just spent eight wonderful days at your home in Puamana on Maui! The location on the beach (sand not rocks!) was terrific and made for easy access to the ocean. We even saw three turtles near the surf line on afternoon. Of course we loved hearing the surf at night. Sunsets over the island of Lanai were spectacular, weather was great (slightly cool for this time of year and no rain showers) and home was close to everything. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Short walk down Front St. to Starbucks every morning and the shops of Lahaina. 2 cruise ships in one day, so we stayed out of town that day! Pleasantly surprised by easy access to Kapalua and Wailea – where we golfed four days. Traffic wasn’t too bad and travel on “island time” fine. The house was beautiful – decorations, furniture and kitchen all inviting, usable and quite comfortable. Liked having a living room and separate family room! Kitchen had everything we needed for meals and drinks and we ate in every night except for one (we can eat out at home). Thank goodness for COSTCO and Safeway! BBQ was perfect too. With four couples, we were a little concerned with two sharing the upstairs bath, but all went well. Loved the front upstairs bedroom with its own lanai. All the beds were comfortable and everyone returned extremely relaxed and happy. Again, we had a wonderful time and if we ever take that many people back again, we'll be sure to contact you.

What a delightful spot! Views that can't be beat - surfers, sunsets, pools, and the lanai so close to the water make it difficult to leave and visit other parts of the island! The condo is well-equipped, very clean and comfortable. We sure hope to be back soon!

We went with another couple and their adult daughter and her boyfriend and had a great time. There was plenty of room and the location of the home to the beach was spectacular..My wife and I are still missing the wave sounds that helped us sleep at night. PacificO resturant was our first meal and was great. We did Ziplining,snorkeling and a hike to 4 Falls which was like an Indiana Jones Movie. Would recommend this home to anyone who would want a beautiful location and relaxing atmosphere

My wife, daughter, daughter's boyfriend, and best friends (husband and wife) stayed at Cathy's beautiful condo. In my opinion, the condo sits on the best spot in the entire area. There is a nice grassy area just outside the patio, atht leads firectly into the sany beach and ocean. Amazing!!!! The amendities both provided in the Condo itself and on the grounds are wonderful. The owner is wonderful, the place is clean and updated, it is centrally located to where the action is, yet is the condo and the grounds are quiet and private. When we go back, this is the place we will stay!!!

Dear Cathy, I want to thank you for allowing our family to stay at your home. We did our best to treat it as we would our own, being extremely careful with rinsing the sand, etc. We loved Maui and we were swept away by the view and the sound of the ocean. Your home is in a great location, and I don't think we'd ever be able to go back and stay anywhere else. I was relieved to see that the pictures were exactly what we got, since I have been disappointed in some other experiences with renting homes online. So thank you again for allowing us all to stay there. We were very comfortable. I will send you some pictures as soon as I download them from my camera -- I'm still catching up on laundry.

Hawaii Family Vacation

The trip was to celebrate my wife's 65th birthday, so my four adult children and my sister and brother in law were included. The eight of us were quite comfortable in this home. It was very clean and well maintained. One day we ventured up to the hotels several miles away to check out the beaches there, but couldn't get back to our own little quiet beach fast enough. My kids surfed and/ or paddled boarded every day. We even did some fishing in the surf and caught a few. Beautiful setting, nice sandy beach 30 feet from our patio, lush grass between the patio and the beach and on the side of the house. The sunsets were phenomenal and sleeping to the sounds of crashing waves was hypnotic and completely restful. I have already recommended this home to some of my friends.

Unbelievable place to stay. We enjoyed our morning cup of tea watching the sea, sift and whales. Then we would run into town and back for a little workout. Next it was time to jump in the ocean for a swim or boogie boarding. Never had to get in my car all week. A massage was a short walk away at lei spa. Dinner at Pacifc O was amazing. We will be back!

This was the most amazing place to stay on Maui. We expected something fabulous from the pictures, and the reality exceeded our expectations. It was very spacious with enough room for my family, my sister's family and our parents. It was the perfect location for our family holiday. Very kid friendly with the patch of grass off the deck then right down to the beach. We loves watching the turtles and whales surface as we enjoyed coffee on the patio in the morning. We enjoyed the beach: surfing, boogie boarding, sandcastles, sun-bathing, swimming all right outside our door! It was not crowded, very relaxing and everyone very friendly. Cathy was exceptional in making sure our stay was wonderful, and she was so helpful. I would highly recommend this place, and I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you Cathy.

Our Family Spring Break

Our family had the pleasure of staying at Cathys' wonderful condo. We were pleased to see that the pictures were right on with the actual condo and outside surroundings. The bedrooms were very spacious, the kitchen had all of the amenities we needed and having 2 living rooms allowed plenty of space for all eight of us to spread out a bit. The lounge chairs on the back Lanai were very comfortable and we enjoyed hanging out and chatting while catching a little sun. The community itself is very well cared for and was just beautiful, from all the Plumeria trees, the perfectly manicured lawns and even the biggest Mango trees we've ever seen. We were lucky enough to be there when someone was picking them and shared a few with us.They were sooooo good! Yum! We also enjoyed many nights of shopping on Front street as well as watching the whales from our lanai.We had a great time at the Mendez Ranch horseback riding.Everyone there was very friendly and it was an amazing ride.Us girls got to experience the day spa at The Spa Moana at the Hyatt and they did a wonderful job from head to toe. Everyone had a great week but wish we could have stayed a lot longer. I can't wait to start planning our next trip to Maui. This was our third time here and we can't wait to get back! Everyone should have the privledge of experiencing Maui, Its truly THE BEST!!! Thanks again Cathy for the home away from home. We had a blast! The Grant and Heckenberg Family

We were a group of 8 in total-3 couples and 2 single females who went to help one of the couples celebrate their 25th anniversary. So glad they asked us to come along! We found the condo online and right from the beginning and all through the process Cathy was so helfpful and easy to deal with and always answered our questions! She thinks of every thing at the condo too. Right from the time we walked in the door we were blown away by the location. We all agreed that the condo and the location and the view from the lanai was what made the trip so wonderful and memorable Every morning we would sit on the lanai and have coffee and breakfast watching the whales, the boats and the surfers. Every day we would have cocktails on the lanai watching the whales.Every dinner we ate was on the lanai. And whenever we returned from an outing this was always where we ended up. And the sunsets-don't know how many pictures we all took of them! The condo itself is well equipped in the kitchen-nothing missing there! We rarely had the tvs on although there was one in each of the living rooms. We did not want to miss anything out on the lanai. And everything was very clean and well maintained.The location to town was perfect too. We could walk if we wanted but more often drove. The closeness to shopping and restaurants was great too. We discovered the road north of us and some lovely beaches(DT Fleming) and some spectacular views from the winding road to the north. We went snorkelling to Molokini and saw many species of fish,turtles and of course many whales. The highlight for most was theone hour Helicopter tour of Maui and Molokai with Air Maui. Most of us had never been in a Helicopter before so we totally enjoyed it and the awesome scenery. Would highly recommend it! Also enjoyed a drive to Makena and a visit to Big Beach which was stunning even with the big waves! Restaurants-Would recommend Kemo's-fish was awesome.Cool Cat's had really good burgers! The Old Lahaina Laua was amazing too! The worst thing was leaving on Wednesday morning. We were all reluctant to leave and dragged it out as long as possible. Would I return? in a minute. Cathy you have a most amazing place and are so lucky to have it. I would highly recommend it and anyone is welcome to contact me! I sure hope I can go again some day and I am sure my travelling companions feel the same

Oceanfront Condo Near Lahaina

This was the perfect place to vacation with my family. We rarely left the condo!!! We had the ocean right in front of us. We rented paddle boards and surf boards and walked out into the ocean. We snorkeled from the condo and watched whales breach. The pool was very nice. It was a great place to stay. It was a pleasure dealing with the owners also.

Puamana in one definition means, "home that holds it's family close". Our extended family have stayed in this unit on 2 occasions enjoying the beauty of Maui Oceanside living. Cathy's property is well tended and contributes greatly to our vacation pleasure. Maui time is most precious in restoring our spirits and nourishing the bonds of family. The ease of accessing the ocean, the quietude, the beautiful grounds of Puamana property, the proximity to Lahaina, all add to the specialness of this place. A diamond experience.....

Awesome location!! Right on the beach with a large lanai. We loved having our coffee there in the morning and watching the ocean & surfers. Everything was very clean and in good working order. The house and location was perfect for our family vacation which consisted of 7 adults. We definitely want to come back again. (hopefully soon!)

This place was perfect and far exceeded and over-delivered on any of our expectations. There's 5 feet of impeccably manicured lawn before you hit the pebble free beach. We rented the house as a group of 8 late-20/early-30 somethings and we had a great time swimming, BBQing dinner on patio every night, and generally hanging out reading books in the sun. It's a 20 min walk into town if you want, or perfect for a quick bike ride. Town has all the activities and restaurants you could want. The rest of the compound is very nice with its water front pool, not that we used it since this house is right on the water and our patch of lawn was the best. Highly recommend this house for a couple of families vacationing together, one big family, or a group of friends. I would definitely go back.

My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniverary with our two sons and their families at puamana136-1. It was such a heavenly place for the 8 of us. Our one son loved getting up at 5:00, fixing coffee and sitting on the lanai until the rest of the family appeared. Our 8 year old granddaughter loved the ocean and both of the granddaughters (8 and 2) loved the swimming pools. All of us loved walking into Lahaina and just poking around in the little shops. We snorkeled went on the highway to Hana and also Paia. Our L.A. family felt so relaxed without all the hustle and bustle of the big city. Cathy's home with the 4 bedrooms and 3 baths just gave us all so much room. We ate outside most nights always grilling fish. A monk seal appeared the first day we were there and stayed about 24 hours and then left after her rest.Lovely vacation for the Carters from L.A. and Eugene, OR. My husband and I to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary took our entire family to Maui and stayed at Cathy's puamana home. There were 3 couples and our 2 little granddaughters (2 and 8). It was the perfect home for us because there were 4 bedrooms and 3 baths and so much room for all 8 of us. We ate almost all of our meals there using the grill for fresh fish cooking and the pineapple is wonderful grilled. Our days consisted of breakfasts on the lanai, swimming in the pools and the ocean, snorkeling out at Molikini Crater and Kapula Beach, traveling to Paia and also taking the Road to Hana. Walking the one mile into Lahaina was delightful because it is such a lovely old neighborhood. I really liked the idea of no big condos on the beach just the established community of Puamana. The lawn goes straight down to the ocean,even our 8 year old granddaughter could swim there. All in all the entire 8 days were so relaxing and fun for us as a family. My wife and I and 3 other couples had the vacation of a lifetime and our stay was based out of this beautiful home on the seashore, the sunsets, sunrises and we even had a full moon that set behind the palms was just spectacular. We biked down the volcano, went snorkeling, experienced the old Lahaina Luau and went horseback riding. We drove the road to Hana, which was and adventure everyone should experience!! Eat out, the food was great!! This property was clean and well maintained, The people in Maui are very accommodating, Everyone was soooo.... nice. we had a great time, very relaxing. I would recommend this to my family, friends. Thank you!!

Cathy, Every year we do a family vacation. This year we chose to go to Maui. Your 4 bedroom home on the ocean was exactly what we wanted. Listening to the ocean crash on the shore, walking out the door to swim in the ocean whenever we wanted, watching the surfers, boats and beautiful sunsets all provided none stop entertainment. We also had a full moon to enjoy as it reflected in the water. In addition to enjoying the ocean, the swimming pools were a big hit. We did venture away from Puamana to hike on the "wetter" side of the island; snorkle at Black Rock; play some golf; take a sunset cruise; and go to a luau. And one evening we walked to Lahaina for some ice cream. Your sincere desire for us to have a good time in Hawaii was evident by the help you provided in answering our questions and having someone there we could call if we needed anything. Cathy, Having visited Maui twice before, we chose Puamana for this visit because it was central to the activities we were interested in. We chose your condo because it seemed the best location in Puamana to accomodate our group of eight, 6 adults and two children. Our high expectations and hopes were exceeded. Your condo was clean, well equipped and maintained, spacious, and comfortable. The Puamana community is also beautifully maintained, secure, quiet, and open. The grassy areas around your condo provided an excellent outlet for the kids to safely burn their energies and the pools were quite convenient. Most memorable for us though was the absolutely spectacular setting on the ocean in which your condo is located. We never tired of watching the ever changing stream of activities on the ocean just yards off the lanai, the beautiful scenery, the ocean breezes, and the sounds of the rolling surf. Though we left the condo for a number of activities, the highlight of our stay will always be our time spent at your condo. I can't imagine we could have found a better location on Maui for this stay. Thank you for your always kind cooperation in making our week possible and so enjoyable.The Hempey Family

Cathy, Having visited Maui twice before, we chose Puamana for this visit because it was central to the activities we were interested in. We chose your condo because it seemed the best location in Puamana to accomodate our group of eight, 6 adults and two children. Our high expectations and hopes were exceeded. Your condo was clean, well equipped and maintained, spacious, and comfortable. The Puamana community is also beautifully maintained, secure, quiet, and open. The grassy areas around your condo provided an excellent outlet for the kids to safely burn their energies and the pools were quite convenient. Most memorable for us though was the absolutely spectacular setting on the ocean in which your condo is located. We never tired of watching the ever changing stream of activities on the ocean just yards off the lanai, the beautiful scenery, the ocean breezes, and the sounds of the rolling surf. Though we left the condo for a number of activities, the highlight of our stay will always be our time spent at your condo. I can't imagine we could have found a better location on Maui for this stay. Thank you for your always kind cooperation in making our week possible and so enjoyable. The Hempey Family

Puamana 136-1 is what a Hawaiian vacation should be! Ocean at your door, friendly neighbors, palm trees swaying in the breeze, and easy access to all that Maui has to offer. A wonderful home away from home. Between the 8 of us, we used all that was offered in Puamana. Don't miss the sunsets!

We love Maui and love Puamana, had as always a fantastic time! Unit 136-1 is in a perfect location and there is simply nothing better that watching the sunset over the ocean and the sound of the lapping waves outside the windows at night.

Cathy's home in Puamana exceeded our expectations by a million percent!! The location is fabulous and the accommodations were comfortable and inviting. One couple already wants to come back with their family. The location of the house on the water, the neighborhoods amenities and close proximity to Lahina makes this rental worth every penny! Thanksgiving week in Paradise was a very exciting time for our family (6 adults and 2 children). We celebrated a birthday at Cheeseburgers in Paradise, did a lot of time in the water and saw the highlights of the island. Cathy's home is a spectacular location and has everything you could want to have a lot of fun and relaxation. The information she provided and help with making the visit seamless seemed like we were going to our own home in a very nice place. We looked at a lot of other places and this is definitely the best. Mahalo Cathy for making it possible for great memories for our children and grandchildren.

We took our extended family - children and grandchildren - for a 2 week stay at Puamana136-1. From the moment we made the reservation until we returned home, Cathy was a wonderful hostess. She made everything run smoothly (if only she could have made the grandkids sllep in every morning!!). The location was excellent. We walked to Lahaina; golfed at Kapalua, Kaanapali, Weilea, and Makena; and dined at wonderful restaurants in Lahaina. The accomodations were great. Having 2 large family areas made it quite nice to separate into small groups when necessary. The closeness to the beach, surfers, and never ending views made the stay very enjoyable. Cathy, Thank you for sharing your home with us. We truly enjoyed our week in Paradise. Your home was a perfect location for our family; we were able to walk into Lahaina and we were all able to try out surfing and boogie boarding right in front of the condo. We just got back from spending 9 wonderful nights at Puamana 136-1. What a marvelous place to spend a vacation!! There were 4 couples on vacation, and we were celebrating 50th birthdays of high school friends. The house was comfortable, roomy, easy to find, close to Lahaina, and best of all--RIGHT on the BEACH! We simply stepped out our back door and the ocean was right there. It was great to go to sleep at night listening to the ocean. We all agreed that we selected the perfect place for our celebration. We were so pleased with everything. And Cathy--you were delightful to work with and so accommodating. Thank you so much!

Puamana exceeded our expectations. The location right on the beach was great. We enjoyed watching the surfers from the lanai. The house accommondate 8 people comfortably and the amenities met our needs. Having our family together in one place for our 50th anniversary was great. Our two grandsons enjoyed Puamana as well. We had a wonderful time we will never forget! Your beautiful home had everything we needed with plenty of room for the seven of us. We enjoyed everything about it - close enough (but not too close) to Lahaina and everything else on Maui. We especially liked our afternoon Mai Tai on the lanai and sitting out at night looking at the stars with our daughter with nothing but the sound of the surf (she's 12 and getting time with her without the TV and the cell phone is priceless). My daughter and my niece even talked me into para sailing one day and we all loved it (haven't seen the pictures yet with my look of total terror leaving the back of the boat). We had a great time at your Maui home. We had our kids 6 and 9 with us and they loved the beach as well as the little nearby town. Your house is very clean and in great shape. We just returned from an amazing vacation at Puamana 136-1 - this was the first time that our group of eight very close friends traveled on such an extended vacation. The location of home was unbeatable - you could not ask for more..we spent most of our time on the outside lanai and made most of our meals in the kitchen "with a view". The home was very spacious and had everything we would need to make our stay comfortable. We hope to return some day real soon!

What a great time! Your home was really perfect. So close to the beach, the town and everything Maui. We brought the whole family, including our children, 6 & 3. We were a little nervous as someone had posted that Puamana wasn't good for kids. That guy was nuts. It was ideal. Kids everywhere, laid back adults and yet everyone had their own private space. Loved it. Far better than any resort we've stayed in. Thanks for all your advice and help as well!

What an amazing experience! Puamana 136-1 was a hit! The moment we arrived and looked around, we wished we had planned to stay longer. Being directly on the water with some lawn for the kiddos was ideal. The home was well equipped with kitchen things and lots of bath towels. The community was very quiet and friendly. We will definitely stay there again soon. Loved it, loved it, loved it.

It was a wonderful time staying,at your place at Puamana, Maui! We all loved it and it was a delightful change of pace from life on the mainland. To see the Pacific Ocean as you entered your estate and then to hear the rolling waves each night as we slept in our darling bedrooms, grandchildren and all was a highlight of my life that I will never forget!

We had a wonderful time at your condo. We had plenty of space for our family including two young children. We took them to great beaches and had great meals in Lahaina. We were very relaxed there. My daughter's favorite activity was dining at Betty's Beach cafe. You can enjoy a great affordable meal and watch the luau being performed at the other restaurant below. I highly recommend this.

We had a wonderful time visiting Maui and staying at Puamana 136-1! It was perfect for our family of 10 (with 5 children under the age of 6). We thoroughly enjoyed exploring Lahaina and nearby beaches in the mornings, while whale watching/relaxing on Puamana & napping children in the afternoons. Baby beach, Napili Bay, Reef Dancer glass bottom boat and the Sugar Cane Train were some favorite memories of the kids. Thank you Cathy!

Dear Cathy, We can't say enough about your condo on Maui. Literally a stones throw away from the water. Getting to listen to the ways roll in every night, you couldn't ask for a more peaceful setting. The views are great and you get to watch whales and sea turtles all while relaxing on the lanai. You couldn't ask for a better location, close to resturants and shopping and still having the privacy of a home. All the amenities that make you feel at home. We spent 2 wonderful weeks at Cathy's home and had a wonderful time with our family - 7 adults and 2 toddlers.136-1 was even nicer than we imagined and had everything we could have needed including boogie boards and sand toys for the grandchildren. The location is perfect- steps from the ocean and we enjoyed most of our meals out on the lanai, watching the whales, and sunsets. Lahaina's shops and restraunts were minutes away and great for exploring. We had a fantastic holiday here and will miss falling asleep to the sound of the waves. We will be back. Mahalo, Cathy.
