Walk, paddle, or float to Gruene!
This secluded Historic Rustic Cabin is located on a wooded 1-acre lot (1505 Edwards Blvd., New Braunfels 78132), just 1/2 Mile upstream from the Historic Gruene District, on a 140-foot span of the Guadalupe Riverbank.
A rustic cedar privacy fence encloses the Cabin and private deck area with seating. The Cabin has its own private view of the surrounding woods and landscaped and lighted walkways. Additionally, the private deck has a large Weber Kettle Charcoal Barbecue Grill, with cooking utensils and self-starting charcoal provided.
The interior of the Cabin has been completely redone, since its original construction as a 1940's Fishing Camp Cabin, which was the only structure originally on this property deeded by the original German Immigrants who settled in New Braunfels.
The Cabin has a King-Size bed, and a full private bathroom, that can accommodate 2. All new Ralph Lauren suede-paint interiors, blinds, and luxury-grade carpet have been added. Additionally, the full bathroom includes a tumbled-limestone floor, new blinds, and new fixtures.
The Cabin also has it's own new stainless-steel refrigerator/freezer, a microwave, a new A/C/Heat unit, a new Cherry-wood remote-controlled electric fireplace (heat optional), full coffee service, ceiling fan, and a new LCD TV/DVD/CD player.
From the backyard, one can overlook the Guadalupe River with an unobstructed view of the opposing riverbank and undeveloped limestone cliffs. The yard is shaded by huge Cedar Elm and Oak trees, and is perfect for outdoor lounging on the deck as well as a Stone Fire-Ring seating area, with firewood provided.

Quiet, clean, beautiful retreat for two...and the river here is wide, shallow, and slow so perfect for a four year old to enjoy. Adults would dine in Gruene I guess but we put the firepit to good use for cookouts and marshmallows...worked for us!!! We will be back...Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

We enjoyed our getaway to celebrate my birthday. We walked to town during the afternoon and returned later that night for a concert a Gruene Hall. We look forward to our next stay and taking the kayak out on the river!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

It was the perfect size and very cozy. We loved the view and enjoyed the fire pit. It is the perfect location to relax but have the option to go shopping and eat close by. We appreciated the restaurant recommendations and tried several of them. We hope to return soon!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

My husband and I rented the cabin for Valentines Day. I had always been a Summer visitor to New Braunfels/Gruene. I must say that we were pleasantly surpised at how nice it was this time of year. The cabin was lovely....enjoyed waking early and watching the sun come up. Deer were happy to put on a show for us. Quiet, lovely winter getaway.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

We loved this cozy cabin. Much attention has been paid to details that made our stay so enjoyable. The bed was very comfortable so we were able to start each day rested and refreshed. The location made for a nice walk into town and the grounds were so inviting we enjoyed our mornings and afternoons taking in the view and observing the abundant wild life. This will be our first choice accommodations on our next trip to the area.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

This is a very quaint place to stay. It is small but more than adequate for a couple of nights. The host is very attentive and responsive to questions. The surroundings are amazing if enjoying the river is on your agenda. Please note that we didn't feel walking into downtown Gruene was feasible in the dark along the roads, but the drive is less than 5 minutes. We would stay again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

We loved this cute little mostly-glass cabin with its big windows that bring the beautiful outdoors indoors while a cedar fence maintains perfect privacy. We have stayed in Gruene many times, and this has by far the prettiest views of the river, only about a mile from the center of town. Two kayaks are part of the package, and stepping stones provide easy access to the Guadalupe. We were there in November, and want to go back when the weather is a little warmer and the water a little deeper.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.
