Classic Maine Cottage -- Beautiful Views & Updated Kitchen!
- Minimum stay:2-7 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This renovated classic 1940’s shingled Maine summer cottage is bright and cheerful throughout--like a page from 'House and Gardens' magazine. Furnishings are in the Maine cottage style, and the gourmet kitchen has been recently updated. First floor has a single bunk bedroom suitable for children and shower bath, second floor has three bedrooms--two with queen size beds and one with twin beds-- and bathroom with a claw foot tub.
Enjoy ocean views through a wall of windows looking out across an open field or from the master bedroom. Open deck off the living room and kitchen is a great place for outdoor dining and for contemplating nature’s beauty. Contemporary fully equipped eat-in kitchen with stunning views into the surrounding 2 acres of woods.
Great place for kids who delight with playing field out-front, 'secret' forts in the woods, and looking for treasures on the rocks and beaches. Steps away from the Juniper Point community house, four clay tennis courts, boat dock and beach. This cottage has heat and a woodburning fireplace, so would be a good choice for the off season (May, June, September, October).
House is ideal for four adults, but will accomodate up to six maximum.

We had a great time staying at the Osprey cottage. The common areas were great for the kids, large grassy fields, woods to explore and a beach when they were brave enough to go into the water!! We could not have asked for a better 4th of July. We were able to walk to the waterfront and see an awesome fireworks display. We are looking forward to renting this cottage again next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

The moment we arrived we felt like this cottage is perfect. We had 5 adults and the accomodations were great. Close to everything and private. A perfect cottage to relax. My wife and daughter loved the interior. We would love to stay there again. This was the first time we spent time on the Western part of Boothbay Harbor- we absolutely loved the stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

"We felt like a guest in a perfect summer cottage. From the moment we arrived the cottage felt just as we would have envisioned it if it had been our own. The Juniper Point community is a timeless respite and antedote to our hectic world. We feel fortunate to have discovered the Osprey and met you. What a great time we all had".Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dianne and I would love to thank you for opening your home to us this past week. What a place you have! We had such a great time and your home was quite a treat! Our sons had a great time playing in the field and going to the water. Dianne and I have been renting up and down the coast for years trying new places and seeing new towns, but your home is the first that we would love to return next year should you be renting next year. Your home certainly had everything we needed to relax with small children and find fun, simple activities to do…some of them we did a couple times like the aquarium…Thank you again for such a great time, with the weather perfect, and your house perfect, this will be the highlight of our summer.Did you find this review helpful? Owner info
Year Purchased: 1999
About the owner: Property is owned by Bill and Lisa Barton. Bill has summered in Boothbay Harbor all his life. Bill is also the past president of the Juniper Point Association, an organization that brings together residents on Juniper and McKown points and maintains the community house, four clay tennis courts, two docks, trails and beach access.
Why the Owner Chose Boothbay Harbor:
Bill's mother, the artist Nancy Hemenway Barton, was born in Boothbay the summer of 1920. Numerous family members have summer homes in on Juniper Point and its been the much loved gathering spot for countless summers. Purchased the house in 1999 so that our children--we have six in all--would have a place to come with their spouses and children.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Summer in Maine is about the outdoors for us, whether it be boating, tennis, hiking, swimming off the dock, or just relaxing in a family atmosphere. Bill's brother's both have houses nearby as do several cousins, so there is lots of movement between the cottages, picnics and fun multi-generational outings to nearby islands, beaches, or to town. The whole community retains a friendly, low key atmosphere that is welcoming yet not intrusive.
